About Dragon Phoenix House

Dragon Phoenix House is a Chinese restaurant located at 2839 Tyson Ave #1415 in Philadelphia. They can be reached at (215) 338-6282 or +1 215-338-6282.

One customer who dined in for the first time during midday reported a positive initial experience. They ordered sesame chicken, crab rangoon, and pork fried rice. The owners were described as nice and welcoming, offering complimentary fried noodles and duck sauce upon seating. The food arrived quickly, was hot, visually appealing, and tasted delicious. Although the customer believed they had ordered a lunch combo, the check did not reflect this, but they felt the food was worth the price. They appreciated the meal, as it had been a while since they last had Chinese food, and mentioned they would recommend the place and return. The only noted drawback was the decor, which was suggested could use some updating. Overall, this customer had a good experience.

However, another customer reported a negative experience concerning their order of pork fried rice. They claimed that despite being charged for pork fried rice, the dish contained only two or three pieces of pork. Upon calling to express their concern, they were informed that ordering pork fried rice separately would result in extra meat, whereas the combo version would not. The customer questioned the logic of calling it a "pork fried rice combo" under these circumstances, especially as they found it to be just plain fried rice without vegetables, for which they were charged the maximum price. Following the complaint, the customer stated that the staff member told them they didn't have to eat there anymore, to which the customer agreed, citing dissatisfaction with being overcharged. This review suggests a potential issue with the consistency and value of certain menu items, as well as customer service.

Based on these reviews, experiences at Dragon Phoenix House appear to be mixed, with positive feedback on food taste and initial service for one customer, but significant concerns raised by another regarding the value and description accuracy of their order, as well as the handling of their complaint.

I stopped in, midday, and ate in-house.. Was my first time there, as I am new to the NE. I ordered sesame chicken and crab rangoon, witj pork froed rice.. The owners were nice and greeted me warmly.. They sat me down with a bowl of fried noodles and duck sauce to start. A nice touch, as I was starving! The food came out quickly and was piping hot. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious. I thought I had ordered the lunch combo, but the check didn't reflect as much. I didn't argue the fact, because the food was worth it. It had been a lonng time since I last had Chinese, and I will be recommending this place and be back for more. The only part of the experience that lacked was the decor, as it could've used a few new touches. But all in all, we'll done!

This place is no good. They charge you for pork fried rice but they don't put pork in the rice. They put two or three pieces. I called to raise my concerns and the lady clearly told me that if I buy the pork fried rice separate they put extra meat. If I buy the combo they don't put a lot of meat but then what's the purpose of calling it pork fried rice combo. After the lady heard me complain she told me I don't have to eat there. No more not to come and buy. I said that's no problem because I don't like getting ripped off anyway. Today's date is Friday 1:00 p.m. September 20th. I don't think the boss would be happy with the worker telling customers not to come no more just because they are concerned that they didn't get enough pork in their pork fried rice. There's no vegetables, no nothing in it. It's just plain fried rice and I got charged maximum price.

I was really impressed by the quality of food here. The portions were big, and the service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be returning.

I dont know what happen to the food but last time I ordered was not as good as like a year ago. Fried rice was bad and no meat at all as you can see in the picture. Boneless ribs was dry and hard so that means is old. Service is awesome not going to lie but you guys have to fix the rice at least.

$50 in the trash, my family was disappointed. Everything I otdered was not what I imagined, my garbage disposal enjoyed it though! Sautéed shrimp and scallops w/ ground pork happen to be a seafood egg foo young. I called and the lady said “we been here 35 years I don’t need to put on the menu that it has eggs all my customers should know” How tf are they still relevant, not only it was wrong! It was also trash, and my fried tofu and veggies was in a glob of old brown sauce, then they are so cheap to add more water into the rice pot to make the rice more fluffy, which was hard. This place needs to shut down immediately, i am going to find a way to slam this place!
