About Dragon Palace

Dragon Palace is a Chinese restaurant located at 1714 Main St in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. They can be contacted at (412) 781-6888 or their mobile number +1 412-781-6888.

As a Chinese restaurant, Dragon Palace offers a notable approach by acknowledging that much of their food is Americanized Chinese while also providing a separate listing for "authentic" dishes (though some of these may not be strictly authentic Chinese either). This transparency is a unique feature for diners looking for different styles of Chinese cuisine.

Customers have generally praised the service as quick and friendly, contributing to a positive dining experience. The ambience is described as calm and pleasant, making it a comfortable place to eat.

Several dishes have received positive feedback. The garlic eggplant and stir-fry vegetables were mentioned as excellent. The pork dumplings with leeks are highlighted as very flavorful, even without dipping sauce, and are considered one of their more authentic offerings. The crispy duck, found on their Chinese menu, is also highly praised for being flavorful, moist, having crispy skin with rendered fat, bearing characteristics of a Cantonese dish (though not smoked). The bok choy is noted for its subtle Cantonese-style seasoning and al dente texture. The red bean cake was described as fantastic and highly recommended.

However, not all dishes received positive reviews. The Americanized vegetable dumplings were described as unseasoned with thick, gummy dough. Additionally, one reviewer expressed disappointment that the restaurant only serves tea bags, which they felt was uncharacteristic of a Chinese eatery.

The prices at Dragon Palace are noted to be very reasonable, adding to its appeal. Overall, Dragon Palace seems to be a restaurant worth revisiting to explore more of their menu, particularly the dishes listed under their "authentic" section and their Cantonese-style offerings. While some dishes may be hit or miss, the positive aspects of service, atmosphere, and certain flavorful dishes like the pork dumplings, crispy duck, and subtly seasoned vegetables make it a potentially rewarding dining experience.

Dear dragon palace Thanks for the excellent dinner. I had the garlic eggplant and my wife loved her stir fry vegetables. The service was quick and friendly. We love the calm atmosphere and will definitely be back and tell our friends. And the red bean cake was fantastic!! Very highly recommended. See you next time.

An American eatery offering the usual chinese-style foods. 😎 A NOTABLE feature is that they actually accept the fact that most of their food are NOT AUTHENTIC Chinese, by 😎 offering a SEPARATE LISTING AUTHENTIC DISHES, although this listing still includes dishes that not Chinese. 🤩 One of more authentic foods is the (Pork) Dumplings with Leeks: very flavorful even without the dipping sauce. 😡 In contrast, the Americanized Vegetable Dumplings are unseasoned with thick gummy dough. 🤩🤩🤩 Though in their Chinese menu, which should be, is Crispy Duck that is very flavorful, moist, crispy skin, the fat is rendered out. This has the properties of a Cantonese dish though this one is not smoked. 🤩 The Bokchoy is a very subtly seasoned and Al dente, again with the subtle flavor that is Cantonese to my palate. 🫤🫤🫤 Sadly, they serve only tea bags, which is very uncharacteristic of what a Chinese eatery should be. THIS IS AN EATERY THAT WOULD BE WORTH RE-VISITING to explore other listings. Perhaps, those other fishes might raise their rating by this Foodie. The prices are very very reasonable. The service is very good. The ambience is pleasant.

Excellent! We placed a large takeout order for our Christmas dinner - something we had never done before - and it was terrific. All meals were delicious, accurate and hot and the leftovers the next day were just as tasty. Not having to cook allowed us to focus more on family time. We highly recommend Dragon Palace!

The general tso meal was okay rice was sticky. Le mean noodles with chicken had no taste at all and the dumplings the kids didn’t like. I spent 40 bucks and the food was less than average. The lady was nice good customer service but food was not good at all. Also my daughter got boba tea and the fruit gave her a bad after taste.

Placed an online order on today, (2) 6 piece Fried chicken wings and (2) Egg rolls for myself and children for a quick bite after funeral. Initially when placed I assumed they were 6 whole wings like every other Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten at from Alabama to here. They were wingettes. No biggie, because we love our Chinese fried chicken wings so I still paid. This had to be the ABSOLUTE worst chicken wings I’ve ever tasted. Literally we ate 3 of 12 wings, and that was each of us eating one. The rest was wasted. Pros: Cook time was accurate to online order. Food was fresh Egg rolls were great. Would I try something else, possibly. But definitely don’t recommend the wings.
