About Dragon King Chinese Kitchen
Welcome to Dragon King Chinese Kitchen, a Chinese Restaurant located at 5825 Galley Rd in Colorado Springs. As part of the local Chinese Restaurant category, we aim to provide a variety of Chinese dishes for our community, available for both dine-in and takeout. Based on customer feedback, experiences at Dragon King Chinese Kitchen appear to be varied, with some dishes receiving high praise while others have fallen short of expectations.
One of the frequently mentioned positives is our lunch deals, which have been described by at least one customer as "great!" This suggests that Dragon King Chinese Kitchen may offer affordable and appealing options for those looking for a midday meal. If you are seeking a budget-friendly lunch in the area, our lunch specials might be worth exploring.
In terms of specific dishes, the Hot and Sour Soup has received accolades as "an excellent, complex blend of flavors that perfectly balanced heat and tang." This positive review indicates that our soup is a standout item, appreciated for its well-rounded and flavorful profile. For those who enjoy a well-crafted hot and sour soup, it might be a highlight of the menu.
Another appetizer that has garnered positive feedback is the Pan-Fried Gyoza, described as "fluffy, flavorful, and savory with every bite." This suggests that our dumplings are a well-prepared and enjoyable starter. If you are a fan of gyoza, this might be a dish to consider trying at Dragon King Chinese Kitchen.
The Chicken in Hot Pepper Sauce also received a generally positive review, with the customer noting that "While milder than expected, the dish delivered with its crisp vegetables and rich, delicious sauce." This indicates that while the spice level might not meet everyone's expectations, the overall flavor and quality of the ingredients, particularly the vegetables and sauce, are commendable. This dish could be a good option for those who prefer flavorful but not overly spicy food.
One satisfied customer concluded their review by stating, "I will back for sure to try more!" This positive intention to return suggests that their overall experience was favorable, and they are interested in exploring more of what Dragon King Chinese Kitchen has to offer.
However, it is crucial to also consider the negative feedback received. One customer reported a significantly negative experience, stating that "The food from dragon king was pretty bad." They specifically mentioned the beef skewers, which were described as "100% dry and completely cold when we received them, literally less moist than beef jerky," and noted a "weird discoloration" on one of them. This feedback raises concerns about the quality and preparation of this particular dish.
The same reviewer also expressed disappointment with several other items. The Chicken Pad Thai was criticized for having "very little chicken in it compared to most places and was not very full." This suggests that the portion of the protein in this dish might be lacking compared to what customers typically expect. The Mongolian Beef was described as "almost half full of sauce and very wet," indicating a potential imbalance in the dish's composition and texture.
The Orange Chicken, while noted as the "best dish" of their order, was still criticized for being "overly sweet and not very tasty." This suggests that even the most palatable dish in their experience had significant room for improvement. Finally, their Fried Rice was described as having "no vegetables or flavor," indicating a lack of key components and taste.
This dissatisfied customer reported spending almost $70 on their order and expressed extreme disappointment, stating that despite living less than 5 minutes away, they would "never be ordering here again." This strong negative reaction highlights significant issues with their overall experience, encompassing multiple dishes.
In conclusion, Dragon King Chinese Kitchen in Colorado Springs offers lunch deals that are considered great by some. Certain dishes, such as the Hot and Sour Soup, Pan-Fried Gyoza, and Chicken in Hot Pepper Sauce, have received positive reviews for their flavor and preparation. However, there are also significant concerns raised by other customers regarding the quality and preparation of dishes like the beef skewers, chicken pad Thai, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, and fried rice. The inconsistency in these reviews suggests that while some aspects of Dragon King Chinese Kitchen may be commendable, there are also areas where improvement may be needed.
If you are considering dining at or ordering from Dragon King Chinese Kitchen, it may be prudent to take into account the full spectrum of reviews. The positive feedback on specific items like the lunch deals, hot and sour soup, and gyoza might appeal to some, while the negative experiences with other dishes and overall quality reported by another customer should also be considered. As with any restaurant, individual experiences can vary.

Amazing experience! Always a bit skeptical of small restaurants in random strip malls, but Dragon definitely was a step above! I read reviews that claim the place is zero stars, but wasn't my experience. First off, the restaurant is immaculate! The tables, the floors, the seats, everything is CLEAN and well-kept. Great first impression. We ordered egg-drop soup, salt and pepper shrimp, and the Dragon Combo. The soup was amazing; thick broth, plenty of veggies, not salty or bitter. The Combo was incredible, flavorful and savory. The ONLY criticism was the amount of krab in the mix. The salt and pepper shrimp were also very tasty, cleaned the plate. The service was great! Our server was super sweet and very attentive, even drew a sketch of me on her notepad. Gave us to-go drinks too! (iced tea was great!) We'll definitely be back!
Extremely fast, steaming hot, tasty food. Professional, attentive, and kind staff. One of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to.
This place is definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants here in town! The Orange Chicken was literally the best I ever had ! It doesn't taste like your typical Orange Chicken, however the taste is way better. We had the Mongolian Beef and it was okay. I felt the same way about the hot and sour soup. All of the sauces were really good as well. We tried the sweet &sour, the curry sauce , and the duck sauce. The duck sauce is also different from most places. However, it was really good. The ginger flavor in it is delicious! I really loved the honey walnut shrimp as well! We will definitely be back to try other menu items!
