About Dragon Express

Welcome to Dragon Express, a Chinese Restaurant situated at 321 Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732, USA. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, we aim to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the Rock Hill community. For inquiries or to place an order, please contact us at (803) 328-0828 or our mobile number +1 803-328-0828. While the availability of dine-in or takeout services is not explicitly stated in the reviews, it can be inferred that takeout is an option, and the initial negative review suggests the possibility of a dine-in area, however unappealing it may be to some.

Based on recent customer feedback, the environment of Dragon Express appears to be a significant area of concern. One reviewer described the interior as "super dingy and dirty," which presents a negative impression of the restaurant's cleanliness and upkeep. This observation could deter potential customers who prioritize a clean and pleasant dining atmosphere. The same reviewer also noted an unusual experience upon entering, with other waiting customers staring and a lack of staff presence at the counter or to greet them. This suggests a potentially unwelcoming or disorganized front-of-house environment.

The service at Dragon Express, based on the provided reviews, seems to be inconsistent or lacking. The initial negative review detailed a ten-minute wait at the counter with no staff acknowledgment, leading the customer to leave without ordering. This indicates a potential issue with customer service responsiveness and attentiveness. While another review mentioned a "quick turnaround time," the addition of "too quick lol" implies that speed might be prioritized over the quality or proper preparation of the food, which could be a trade-off in their service approach.

Customer feedback on the food quality at Dragon Express reveals several areas of concern. One reviewer questioned the appearance and taste of the fried rice, describing it as "so darn brown with no veggies and egg" and having a "distinct flavor" that was not enjoyable. This suggests a deviation from typical expectations for fried rice and a potential issue with the ingredients or preparation method.

Another customer expressed disappointment with the garlic scallops, noting that they were "not thoroughly cooked" and seemed to be only lightly tossed in the sauce. The fact that the dish was only "warm not steaming hot" further indicates potential issues with cooking time and temperature, raising concerns about food safety and overall quality. Undercooked seafood can pose health risks and significantly impact the dining experience.

One reviewer mentioned that the portion size and price were good but found the food to be "not as flavorful" as they were accustomed to. This suggests that while the quantity and cost might be appealing, the taste of the dishes may not meet the expectations of some customers, lacking the depth or complexity of flavor typically associated with Chinese cuisine.

The comment about a "quick turnaround time too quick lol" could be interpreted in several ways, but in the context of the other reviews, it might suggest that the speed of preparation comes at the expense of thorough cooking or flavor development. This perceived haste in the kitchen could be linked to the issues reported with the fried rice and the garlic scallops.

Currently, there is no information available in these reviews regarding any promotional offers or special deals at Dragon Express. Given the concerns raised about the environment, service, and food quality, any potential promotions would need to be considered in light of these issues. Local users might be hesitant to take advantage of promotions if the fundamental aspects of the dining experience are perceived negatively.

In conclusion, Dragon Express in Rock Hill, SC, appears to be a Chinese restaurant that has received concerning feedback regarding its environment, service, and food quality. Customers have reported a dingy and dirty interior, a lack of staff attentiveness, unusually prepared and potentially undercooked food, and a lack of desired flavor in some dishes. While the portion sizes and prices were noted as good by one reviewer, the significant negative comments outweigh this positive aspect. The quick turnaround time, while seemingly efficient, may be indicative of rushed food preparation. Potential customers should carefully consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to patronize Dragon Express. There is no information available regarding any current promotions.

Went here because the pictures made the food look really good. Super dingy and dirty inside. When I walked in, other customers waiting for food just stared at me. No one was at the counter or came to greet me. I awkwardly waited 10 minutes and decided to go elsewhere. It's probably a good thing though, not sure I trust a place that run down to make my food.

I’m just curious to why the fried rice was so darn brown with no veggies and egg Had a distinct flavor couldn’t really put my finger on but wasn’t a fan. The garlic scallops wasn’t thoroughly cooked it was like a like light toss in the garlic sauce lol everything was warm not steaming hot. Good portion and price just not as flavorful as I’m used too Quick turnaround time too quick lol

Bring your appetite they serve a lot for the money. We had the bourbon chicken and the hibachi chicken, steak and shrimp. It was real good. And our first time here was impressed with the friendliness of the staff.

This was the nastiest Chinese food I ever had! The fried rice was almost black it’s like they put too much soy sauce and it was hard. Egg roll was also nasty 🤢 but I will say the lady was very sweet.

Nothing better than a classic quick Chinese takeout food spot. The food was plentiful and delicious. Nothing wrong with the saucyness or the taste. All on point. Location is dated but that gives it its charm. Staff was nice and food was cooked quickly. If you are near Winthrop University give it a shot.
