Welcome to Dragon City, a Chinese restaurant located at 1607 W Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45239, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Dragon City aims to provide Chinese culinary options to the Cincinnati community. They can be contacted at (513) 729-2268 or their mobile number +1 513-729-2268 for inquiries.
Based on recent customer reviews, Dragon City appears to be facing challenges regarding the quality and consistency of its food and service. One reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating they would give zero stars if possible, only giving one star due to a positive fortune cookie message. This customer described their experience as a "miss," noting a perceived decline in food quality over time. They felt that the restaurant's focus had shifted primarily to financial gain, seemingly at the expense of food standards. This negative experience led the reviewer to declare they would not return, citing severely burned egg rolls that appeared to be old and reheated. The reviewer felt that the poor quality served indicated a lack of care for customers who "keep spending there," suggesting a sense of betrayal due to declining standards.
Another long-time customer echoed these concerns, stating that the "Place is going down hill last few months." This indicates a trend of declining quality and service, which is particularly disappointing for loyal patrons. This reviewer specifically mentioned a change in the presentation of their combination platter, which traditionally came in a large rectangular container with rice in a separate box. They reported that the restaurant had started including rice directly in the platter, effectively charging the price of a combination platter for what they perceived as a lunch special, leading to a feeling of being "cheated." This change in presentation was seen as a way to reduce portions or increase cost without justification. Furthermore, this reviewer also noted a decline in the overall food quality, reinforcing the sentiment of the first reviewer. After years of patronage, this customer also stated they would not be returning and advised others to find a new place, attributing the negative changes to potentially new ownership or staff within the last 6-8 months.
The reviews provided offer limited insight into the environment of Dragon City itself. The comments focus primarily on the food quality and service aspects related to takeout orders. There is no mention of the dining area, ambiance, or cleanliness of the restaurant. Therefore, it is difficult to provide an objective description of the environment based solely on this information.
In terms of services, Dragon City appears to primarily cater to takeout orders, as both reviewers discuss their experiences with food they received off-premises. One reviewer mentioned picking up orders in the past, while the other's comments about the combination platter suggest a takeout scenario. There is no direct mention of dine-in or delivery services in these reviews. To ascertain the full range of services offered by Dragon City, including whether they have a dine-in option or provide delivery (either directly or through third-party platforms), it would be necessary to contact the restaurant directly.
As a Chinese restaurant, Dragon City likely offers a menu featuring a variety of popular Chinese-American dishes. Based on the reviews, their offerings include egg rolls and combination platters (which typically consist of a main dish like General Tso's chicken or Kung Pao chicken served with fried rice and an egg roll or other appetizer). The mention of rice as a standard accompaniment also suggests that they serve typical rice dishes. However, the negative feedback regarding the quality of the egg rolls (burned and seemingly old) and the perceived reduction in value of the combination platter raises concerns about the overall standard of their menu items.
Features that might have been associated with Dragon City in the past, such as consistent food quality and presentation, seem to be in decline according to the recent reviews. The long-term patronage of one reviewer suggests that the restaurant may have had a positive reputation previously. However, the current feedback highlights issues with food freshness, preparation (burned items), and perceived value for money due to changes in portioning or presentation of combination platters. The only positive mentioned was a fortune cookie message, which is not indicative of the restaurant's core offering.
No promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. It is common for Chinese takeout restaurants to offer lunch specials, family deals, or discounts for certain order amounts. Given the negative feedback regarding value for money due to changes in combination platters, it is unclear if Dragon City currently offers any appealing promotions. To inquire about any special offers or discounts, customers would need to contact the restaurant directly.
In conclusion, recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of Dragon City in Cincinnati, OH. There are strong indications of declining food quality, inconsistency in preparation, and a perceived reduction in value for money. Long-time customers have expressed disappointment and vowed not to return due to these issues. Potential local users should be aware of these recent experiences, particularly the reports of poorly prepared and potentially stale food, as well as changes in portioning that are seen as unfavorable. While Dragon City may have had a better reputation in the past, the current feedback suggests a significant drop in standards. It would be prudent for potential customers to consider these recent reviews before deciding to order from or visit Dragon City. For the most up-to-date information on their menu, services, and any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended, keeping in mind the recent negative feedback regarding their food quality and service practices.

if i could give zero stars i would but they get 1 because my fortune cookie said something nice, this place is either hit or miss, today was a miss, which is happening more frequently, its like they dont care about the quality of the food anymore, all they see is money an we surely keep spending there, after today ill never go back, my egg rolls were not only burned but u can tell that they had been sitting, for a while, probably most of the day, if not yesterdays egg rolls, that they cooked again to appear fresh, an they chose to serve that as food, guess my money wasnt good enough for fresh egg rolls, save ur money and taste buds 🤢
Place is going down hill last few months. Combination platter always comes in big rectangle and rice in a box. Now they cheating people and putting rice in it too. This is just paying double for a lunch special. . It's never been this way. Food is also going down hill . Better off finding a new place Ive been going here for years but never ever again. I don't know what's changed here I'm last 6-8 months new people working it must of been sold or passed on . It's definitely not worth the trip now
First off, there was a piece of Brillo metal scrubbing brush in the chicken. I tried calling multiple times, but was largely ignored and not given straight answers. I repeatedly told them that their food had metal pieces in their food, but they could not have cared less. They refused to acknowledge the issue unless I drove back to the store. A complaint has been filed against this restaurant. I highly recommend avoiding this establishment.
Ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and had to throw it out because the shrimp were spoiled. The smell was repulsive. I called to let them know and was hung up on. Also ordered shrimp and snow peas. There were 5 snow peas and 3 shrimp in the dish, the rest of the dish was carrots, bamboo and water chestnuts, which do not go in the dish. I will never order from here again.
I've picked up from here a few times now and every time has been great. Its exactly what I want from a quick cheap chinese take out. Hot, fresh noodles and fried chicken in a sticky sweet sauce. I got two entrees, chow mei fun and general tso, for like $25 including tip, enough food for 3 meals for me. Everyone has always been really nice and for the price this is fantastic. All these negative ratings are mostly for door dash, uber eats, and grub hub not the actual restaurant. Don't berate the restaurant, they simply hand off the food. After that its on the third party for everything else.
