About Dragon City

Dragon City is a Chinese restaurant located at 2234 1st Ave in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood of New York City, NY 10029. They can be contacted at (212) 426-4888 or their mobile number +1 212-426-4888. Based on customer reviews, Dragon City offers both in-person ordering for takeout and a delivery service to the local area.

The available customer feedback presents a mixed view of the services and food quality at Dragon City. One reviewer, who is new to the neighborhood, initially had positive experiences with in-person ordering, stating they were "very satisfied every time" they visited the restaurant. This suggests that the quality of food and service for walk-in customers might be consistent and satisfactory.

However, this same reviewer had a significantly negative experience with their first delivery order. According to their account, the order was incorrect. While the delivery person did not charge them at the time, the reviewer had to call back to inform them of the unpaid order. Subsequently, after receiving the corrected food, they called again due to a higher total charge than initially quoted, seeking clarification on whether a tip was included. The reviewer alleges that the person on the phone disputed their order, claiming they had ordered something different. The resolution to this issue involved the restaurant sending a replacement for the incorrect item, which the reviewer described as "burned chicken." This customer felt that they were treated poorly, accused of lying about their order, and sent inedible food out of spite, leading them to conclude that they could "never eat there now" due to a fear of their food being intentionally tainted. This paints a picture of severely flawed customer service and a lack of accountability in handling delivery errors.

In contrast, another reviewer had a positive experience with Dragon City's takeout and delivery services. They described it as a "great go to take out Cheese food in the neighborhood," although the term "Cheese food" is unusual in the context of a Chinese restaurant and might be a typographical error, possibly intended to be "Chinese food." This reviewer found the food to be "fresh and delicious as always" and specifically recommended the lo mein and chow fun dishes. They also praised the delivery as "fast" and the service as "friendly." This feedback stands in stark opposition to the negative delivery experience detailed by the first reviewer, highlighting a potential inconsistency in service quality depending on the circumstances or the staff involved.

Considering these two reviews, it is difficult to draw a definitive conclusion about the overall quality and reliability of Dragon City. The positive experience with in-person ordering and the subsequent positive feedback on takeout and delivery, along with specific dish recommendations, suggest that Dragon City is capable of providing satisfactory food and service. However, the detailed account of a severely mishandled delivery order, culminating in the delivery of inedible food and accusations of lying, raises significant concerns about their delivery service and customer relations in certain situations.

There is no information provided in these reviews about the environment or ambiance of the restaurant for dine-in customers. The emphasis on takeout and delivery in the reviews might indicate that these are the primary modes of service for Dragon City, or that the reviewers primarily utilized these options. Therefore, local users seeking information about the dine-in experience at Dragon City would need to look to other sources.

Similarly, the reviews do not explicitly detail any specific features of Dragon City, such as unique menu items, specialties, or a particular style of Chinese cuisine. The recommendation of lo mein and chow fun suggests that they offer these popular Cantonese noodle dishes, but it does not provide a comprehensive overview of their menu. There is also no mention of any promotional information, such as discounts, lunch specials, or loyalty programs, in the provided feedback.

In conclusion, Dragon City in Upper Manhattan appears to be a Chinese restaurant that has provided satisfactory food and friendly service to some customers, particularly those ordering in person or experiencing positive delivery service. The lo mein and chow fun are specifically recommended by one reviewer. However, there is also a concerning account of a severely mishandled delivery order and unprofessional customer service that resulted in a very negative experience for another customer. This inconsistency in service quality is a significant factor for potential local users to consider. Without further information about the restaurant's environment, specific features, or any promotions, it is advisable for new customers to be aware of the mixed feedback and perhaps exercise caution, especially when placing delivery orders.

I’m new to neighborhood and went there in person ordered and was very satisfied every time. BUT THE FIRST TIME I ordered for delivery the guy got my order wrong. He didn’t even charge me. I had to call back and tell him he didn’t take my payment. Then after I got my food. I called because the total charge was higher than what was told me. I needed to know if it included the tip so I could add it. The lady said I ordered something I didn’t. They proceed to tell me I didn’t ask for what I know I did. Then fixed my order by sending me burned chicken. They had someone who was gonna pay a lot of their bills. But he basically called me a liar. Then sent me crap that I can’t even eat out of spite. That’s horrible service. I could never eat there now. fear they will taint my food with their spiteful hearts.

I wish I could give zero reviews. They rude and stupid as hell. They rip people off and lie. I ordered food and I ordered a large chicken noodle soup but they sent me a small. I called and asked for it to be switched it was that or get 1.50 off my next order that's nothing. Anyway I called and the girl who answered said that they didn't have an order with my number and that was a lie because it's on my recents and on the receipt they keep. Anyway the Chinese guy knocked really hard on my door cuz he was mad
