About Dragon City (Formerly First Wok)
Welcome to Dragon City, formerly known as First Wok, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 6413 Greenwood Rd in Louisville, Kentucky (KY 40258), USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Louisville community, Dragon City offers a variety of dishes and services, primarily focusing on takeout based on the available reviews, although dine-in options may also be available.
Based on recent customer feedback, Dragon City (formerly First Wok) appears to be facing some challenges related to food temperature and consistency. Multiple reviews have raised concerns about the temperature of the food upon receipt. One customer who spent $40 on dinner reported that their food was "NOT hot," describing it as having "cool spots mixed warm spots." They also noted that the sauce was congealed or gelled due to being cold, leading to a disappointing experience.
Another customer who ordered again on a subsequent occasion (April 9th) echoed the issue of cold spots in their food. Additionally, they reported that the white rice was "watery and mushy" and tasted like "instant 1 minute rice mush cold." While this reviewer mentioned that the flavors were "ok," the unsatisfactory texture and temperature of the rice significantly detracted from their meal.
A long-term customer, who had been going to this establishment for years, also reported a recurring problem with the temperature of the sweet and sour chicken sauce. They mentioned that the sauce had been "ice cold" on the last couple of visits. On their most recent pickup, they specifically asked if the sauce could be heated up but were told no, which resulted in their decision not to return. This customer's experience suggests a potential issue with the restaurant's handling or storage of sauces and a lack of flexibility in addressing customer concerns regarding food temperature.
The fact that a long-time patron was driven to not return due to the cold sauce issue is a significant indicator of a potentially unresolved problem. Their action of heating the sauce themselves at home underscores the inconvenience and dissatisfaction caused by this recurring issue. The customer's comment about hoping that "return business is what they don't want" further emphasizes the negative impact of this experience on customer loyalty.
The available reviews do not provide any information about the environment or ambiance of the restaurant itself. There are no comments regarding the cleanliness, decor, or overall atmosphere for dine-in customers. The focus of the feedback is solely on the quality and temperature of the food received, primarily through takeout orders.
Similarly, details about the services offered are limited to the implication of takeout being a primary service. It is not explicitly mentioned whether dine-in options are available. There is also no information regarding delivery services or catering options that Dragon City (formerly First Wok) might provide.
No specific promotional information, such as discounts, special offers, or combination meals, is mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Chinese restaurants often have lunch specials, family deals, or other promotions to attract customers. To learn about any current promotions at Dragon City (formerly First Wok), it would be best to contact them directly at (502) 935-6111 or visit their location at 6413 Greenwood Rd, Louisville, KY 40258, USA. The staff should be able to provide the most up-to-date information on any special offers that might be available.
In conclusion, recent customer feedback for Dragon City (formerly First Wok) in Louisville raises significant concerns about the temperature and consistency of their food, particularly for takeout orders. Multiple customers have reported receiving food that was not adequately heated, with cold spots and congealed sauces. Issues with the quality of the rice have also been noted. While the flavors were described as "ok" by one reviewer, the temperature and texture problems appear to be recurring issues that have led to customer dissatisfaction and even the loss of a long-time patron. Potential customers should be aware of these recent experiences when considering ordering from Dragon City (formerly First Wok). It may be prudent to inquire about food preparation and temperature upon placing an order. For the most accurate information about their menu, hours of operation, and any ongoing promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.
We encourage local residents to consider the recent feedback when making their dining choices. If you have ordered from Dragon City (formerly First Wok) in the past and had positive experiences, these recent reviews suggest a potential decline in quality control, particularly regarding food temperature. If you are a new customer, it might be wise to proceed with caution or seek more recent feedback from a variety of sources before placing an order. Contacting the restaurant directly to address any concerns about food preparation and temperature might be a helpful step.

My food was NOT hot. It was cool spots mixed warm spots. The sauce was still congealed or gelled because it was colder. Spent $40! for dinner. Disappointed ORDERED AGAIN on 4/9 colder food spots and white rice is watery and mushy! BUT flavors are ok. Not satisfied with rice tasting like instant 1 minute rice mush cold
I have been going here for years. The last couple of times I have been the sauce from sweet and sour chicken has been ice cold. This last time I asked as I was picking up if they could heat up the sauce. I was told no, so I wont go back! What is sad as soon as I got home I got a pan out and heated up the sauce myself. Hope return business is what they don't want, because that is what they got.
Love this place, always great food and great service. This time wasn't so good. I guess everybody has a bad night every now and again
Everything is perfect! Family order ready in 10 minutes, food is hot, portions are more than enough and they even give you free Chinese donuts!
we ordered take out. food was ready in a timely manner. HOWEVER they got our order wrong. we got things that we didn’t order and we were missing a whole entree. I ordered Chicken Mei Fun and I found a piece of pork. I’m not religious or allergic but I can see how that’s not okay or acceptable for someone else.
