About Dragon Bowl Latin-Asian Cuisine

Dragon Bowl Latin-Asian Cuisine, situated at 25291 I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257, USA, presents a unique concept as a Chinese restaurant offering a fusion of Latin and Asian flavors. They can be contacted at (210) 600-4055 or +1 210-600-4055. Please note that based on a customer review, the restaurant is located inside a gas station store and primarily offers to-go and delivery orders, although a small outdoor patio with two picnic tables is available.

Customer experiences appear to be mixed. One reviewer expressed significant disappointment, stating that the food did not align with their expectations of Puerto Rican or Nuyorican Chinese cuisine. They noted issues with the cleanliness of the warming table, the dryness of the chicharrones, and the additional charge for fried rice and lo mein, which they found to be mediocre and hard. This reviewer also criticized the preparation of several dishes, including the ribs (gummy and overly spiced), the pepper steak (lacking wok flavor), and the birria egg rolls (too small and gummy inside). While they found the chicharron de pollo to be decent, they were overall dissatisfied and would not return.

In contrast, another customer reported a positive experience with the lunch special of orange chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. They found it tasty, a large portion, and a good value. This reviewer also noted that the place looked spotlessly clean and the staff (potentially the owner) was super friendly. They indicated their intention to return and try other menu items, considering it a great addition to the local community.

Dragon Bowl Latin-Asian Cuisine offers a distinctive menu that attempts to blend Latin and Asian culinary traditions. Services appear to focus on takeout and delivery, with limited outdoor seating. Potential customers should be aware of the varying experiences reported by reviewers regarding food quality and authenticity, and the restaurant's location within a gas station.

This may be San Antonio Puerto Rican food but it's definitely NOT Puerto Rico-Puerto Rican or Nuyorican Chinese food in the least. The service, when we walked up was not as friendly as others have experienced. The glass in front of the warming table was dirty and the chicharrones under the heat lamp looked dry. Fried rice and lo mein are $1.25 extra. At a Chinese takeout. It was insane to pay more for mediocre, HARD fried rice that was absolutely not Puerto Rican-style fried rice. It tasted like it was a day old, it was so hard. If you're selling yourself as Boricua Chinese food then give us the ham, ribs, onion, and lettuce like it should be. That or serve stir-fried rice that's fresh and not old. We ordered the two meat plate; one with pepper steak and ribs, the other with Mongolian beef and chicharron de pollo and the birria eggrolls. The ribs shouldn't be sold. The breading is gummy, not crispy, the meat was dry, and the sauce is over-seasoned with Chinese five spice or some other ungodly spice that overwhelmed the palate. Whatever that anise-five spice situation is needs to be scaled back or eliminated. The amount of spice on the ribs is the complete opposite of PR or NY costillas, spicy instead of sweet and sour. The pepper steak was okay, but you can tell it never touched a wok. The meat lacked that caramelization. I think they should start truly stir frying their meats. The chicharron de pollo was the only menu item that tasted like it was "Puerto Rican," it was well seasoned and the chicken was decent, a little on the dry side. The Mongolian beef was beef with broccoli so that was a wash. They need to ensure they're serving the customers what they ordered or prepare the food the traditional way so there are no surprises. The birria egg rolls were rolled too small, which means the inside of the egg roll was gummy. If they rolled them a little bigger there wouldn't be excess wrapper inside. The consommé it came with has globs of fat floating in it but was decent. I'm bummed because we went hoping to have a new place that would bring a taste of home. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to go back because it just wasn't worth the money.

I enjoyed the lunch special of orange chicken w/fried rice & eggroll. It was tasty & a large portion. Good value for your dollar! Looks spotlessly clean & the staff (owner?) super friendly. It's inside the gas station store so it's to go & delivery orders only, though there is a little outside patio with 2 picnic tables. I'll be going back to try other menu items. This is a great addition to our Leon Springs/Fair Oaks Ranch community.

I must say…. AMAZING. I ordered “el surtido caribeño” which could feed 2-3 people easy. The bolitas de mofongo were soooo delicious it was hard to share them. I normally eat tostones and mofongo with “mayo ketchup” but this was filled with so much flavor I didn’t even need it. The Latin wontons were exactly what I expected… delicious! The carne frita wasn’t dry and chewy like you’d expect, it was so good. And the chicharrón de pollo was my daughters favorite. I will definitely go back!!

This food is actually so damn good. My husband is Puerto Rican, so we know authentic cuisine. And this place is a good mix. The mofongo is so good and the tostones are like home. I hope one day this place could get their own space for a small restaurant bc they deserve one! So good

This fusion food establishment is remarkable! We drove 25 miles, because we heard this place was delicious...all true. I'm confident we will return. It's simply that fantastic! 25 miles evaporates real quick when your tummy craves the succulent food from Dragon Bowl Latin-Asian Cuisine. Even though today was our 1st time trying it, comments from our friends had us salivating long before we ate anything. We are going back...tomorrow.
