About DouManJiang

Welcome to DouManJiang, a Chinese restaurant located at 37-14 Main St, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. As a part of the diverse culinary landscape of Flushing, DouManJiang offers a unique dining experience with a reported blend of authentic Chinese flavors influenced by the Korean-Chinese culinary tradition. You can reach us at (929) 445-4485 or via mobile at +1 929-445-4485 to explore our menu and experience our hospitality.

Based on the feedback from our valued customers, DouManJiang presents a mixed but interesting dining proposition. One reviewer highlighted several positive aspects of their experience. A significant "pro" mentioned was the extended duration of our lunch special, noting, "Love the fact that their lunch special ends at 5pm instead of around 3pm." This extended availability of the lunch special provides greater flexibility for diners who may have later lunch hours or prefer an early dinner at a discounted price. This customer also appreciated the complimentary offerings for dine-in patrons, stating, "They give you appetizer dishes when you dine in and love the wheat tea they serve hot." The provision of complimentary appetizers is a welcoming gesture that enhances the dining experience, and the hot wheat tea appears to be a signature offering that is well-received.

However, the same reviewer also pointed out some notable "cons." One significant issue raised was our payment policy: "It's a shame that they won't let you use your credit card unless you spend over $20 but they charge you tax on the food anyways when you pay cash;so that's abnormal for flushing." This policy regarding credit card usage for transactions under $20 might be inconvenient for some customers. Additionally, the reviewer found it unusual that tax is still charged on cash payments, which they perceived as "abnormal for flushing," a neighborhood known for its many cash-based transactions where tax might sometimes be implicitly included in the price. This payment policy is an important factor for potential diners to be aware of.

The reviewer also shared concerns about the preparation of certain dishes, particularly within the lunch special: "I have a few favorite dishes here but decided to try their a dish on their lunch special; twice now... Super greasy !! So much oil .. It felt disgusting even tho the food tasted good. But the amount of greasy in my food made me sick." This feedback indicates a potential issue with the oil content in some of our dishes, specifically within the lunch special. While the taste of the food was acknowledged as good, the excessive greasiness led to a negative sensory experience and even made the reviewer feel unwell. This suggests a need for potential diners to be cautious when ordering certain items, especially from the lunch special, if they are sensitive to oily food.

Another reviewer offered a broader perspective on our cuisine, stating, "Great and authentic food from Korean-town in China. But barbeque is not that good." This comment suggests that DouManJiang offers a style of Chinese food that originates from areas in China with a strong Korean influence, often referred to as Korean-Chinese cuisine. This culinary tradition has developed its own unique dishes and flavor profiles, blending elements of both Korean and Chinese cooking. The reviewer found this aspect of our food to be "great and authentic," indicating a potential strength in these specialized dishes. However, they specifically noted that our "barbeque is not that good," suggesting that this might not be a highlight of our menu and perhaps not prepared in a traditional or satisfying manner.

Based on these reviews, DouManJiang offers a unique culinary experience rooted in the Korean-Chinese tradition. A potential feature of our restaurant is the availability of authentic dishes from this specific cultural intersection, which might include items not commonly found in typical Chinese restaurants. The extended lunch special until 5 pm is a notable benefit for customers with varied schedules. The complimentary appetizers and hot wheat tea for dine-in guests add value to the overall dining experience.

However, potential customers should be aware of our payment policy regarding credit card use for transactions under $20 and the reported practice of charging tax on cash payments. Additionally, there seems to be a risk of certain dishes, particularly from the lunch special, being excessively greasy, which could detract from the enjoyment of the meal. Finally, while our Korean-Chinese cuisine is praised, the barbeque might not meet the expectations of all diners.

Information about the specific environment of DouManJiang is not detailed in the reviews. However, being located on Main Street in Flushing, a bustling and diverse neighborhood known for its rich culinary scene, it is likely that our restaurant provides a casual and welcoming atmosphere for diners to enjoy our unique cuisine. The ambiance might reflect a typical Chinese eatery, perhaps with some subtle Korean influences in the décor or music, given the nature of our culinary focus.

In terms of services, DouManJiang offers dine-in service, as indicated by the mention of complimentary appetizers for those eating at the restaurant. We likely also provide takeout services, allowing customers to enjoy our food at home. Delivery options are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, but it is a common service offered by many restaurants, especially in a densely populated area like Flushing. To confirm the availability of delivery or to make reservations, customers can contact us via the provided phone numbers.

Promotional information is limited to the extended lunch special mentioned by one reviewer, which lasts until 5 pm. This extended timeframe is a significant promotion in itself, offering discounted prices for a longer duration than many other restaurants. It is possible that we have other daily specials or seasonal promotions to further attract customers. To learn more about any current offers, we encourage you to call us or visit our location on Main Street in Flushing.

In conclusion, DouManJiang offers a unique Chinese dining experience in Flushing, NY, with a focus on authentic flavors influenced by the Korean-Chinese culinary tradition. Customers can enjoy the benefit of an extended lunch special, complimentary appetizers, and our signature hot wheat tea when dining in. However, it is important to be aware of our payment policies regarding credit card use and cash payments, as well as the potential for some dishes to be excessively greasy. While our Korean-Chinese cuisine is generally well-regarded, our barbeque might not be a highlight. We invite you to explore the distinctive flavors of DouManJiang and discover dishes that reflect this interesting culinary blend.

If u go with a group and make sure you verify the bill because they tend to add a few dollars on it.
