Customer Reviews
This has been our local go to for the past 3 years since living here on and off from our second home. And we have always been happy with the consistency of the food. As of recent the restaurant does not feel the same in the quality of food and take out service. As I, more times than not, get my food to go. No more condiment station at the register and our food was poorly prepared compared to times pass. The cucumber was not thoroughly cut through making it difficult to eat. That’s the only issue I have. I am still a fan of this location for it’s beautiful view by the river, food still hits the craving and above all, I had the pleasure of speaking with a man by the name of Joe who happens to be from my neck of the woods. He made my recent visit feel like a family reunion and all I can say is his honesty and candor will keep us coming back. We need more people like him in the service industry. It adds a special ingredient you can find in the most expensive dining experience. Whatever he’s being paid can’t be enough. Thank you for always being a reliable source for local dining a rocks through from our home.
A high-end and spacious eatery with cozy river view. Quality service and clearly labeled menu options, making it easy for vegetarians/vegans to order with confidence. I ordered Vegetarian hot & sour noodles and Glass noodles. Hot & sour noodles was Great and Glass noodles were a bit too sticky to bite and swallow, but aromatic. Also ordered both fried and steamed veg dumplings, they were delicious with lots of flavorful. Also don’t miss out on chrysanthemum tea during cold windy days. Would definitely recommend for vegetarian eaters.
We came here from a distance only to be told that we do not have dine in but they let us anyway. They tell us at the door that their dishwasher is broke since Sunday. You would think they would put this on their website. After we got the food, we waited longer than 30 minutes, the male waiter just gave us the food and didn't explain anything when there was 2 seperate tickets. We had to go threw everything and found out this was the first parties order and the second party had to wait even longer and they were getting hungry. We didn't recieve any napkins and had to ask. Over all this place went down hill and as I talked this place up, the cucumber salad was mediocre and didn't have much flavor besides the cucumber. Yet they didn't have any restrooms open, so they should not have been open. All in all for 171$ dinner for 3 people, i don't know how much the other 2 people spent it was less than par. Won't return again. Also the food was cold when we got it and didn't look cooked so we had to cook it at home
Visited Portland for a week and came here four times during that stay. Absolutely incredible food at very reasonable prices with a nice view of the river. It’s also in a very cool part of town. The dumplings, noodles, and pigs’ ears were all excellent. If I lived in Portland, I’d be here multiple times a week for sure.
The greatest advantage of this place is its perfect location with an amazing view, and it’s a bit more laid-back compared to other dumpling restaurants, making it easier to find parking. Since I stayed at the Hyatt House, which was only a 3-minute walk away, getting there was very convenient. The Xiao Long Bao had thin skins, which was nice, and the temperature was just right, with plenty of flavorful broth inside. It was slightly milder in taste compared to Xinding. I recommend the pork and crab Xiao Long Bao. However, the pork wonton in hot & sour soup had dumplings that were too mushy and didn’t measure up to similar dishes at Din Tai Fung. The high-tail shrimp dumplings had dry wrappers overall, so I wouldn’t recommend them. On the other hand, the kale salad with sesame sauce is highly recommended. I enjoyed the food so much that I signed up for a membership. It’s a place I’d recommend, especially for special occasions, and the prices are more cost-effective compared to other dumpling restaurants.
