About Dong Chun Hong

Welcome to Dong Chun Hong, a restaurant located at 2625 Old Denton Rd #544, Carrollton, TX 75007, USA. You can reach them at (972) 323-8575 or +1 972-323-8575.

While categorized as a Chinese Restaurant, Dong Chun Hong appears to specialize in Korean-Chinese cuisine, as highlighted by enthusiastic customer reviews. One reviewer, who values a Korean friend's opinion on good Korean flavors, was exceptionally impressed with the jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and sweet & sour pork combo. They described the pork as "perfectly crispy, light, & delicious" and the noodles as cooked "Al dente," considering the #3 combo a perfect portion. The dish is enhanced with yellow radish and a provided spice.

Another customer also refers to Dong Chun Hong as a "HIDDEN gem" and specifically recommends it for those who enjoy black bean noodles, describing them as "SO yummy!!" They also note its location near or under Singbox in Carrollton, suggesting it might be somewhat tucked away.

Notably, the Tang Su Yok (crispy pork) is also a favorite, even among picky eaters. One reviewer mentioned that their 2-year-old, who typically dislikes meat, enjoys the tender inside and crispy outside of this dish.

If you are in Carrollton and looking for a unique culinary experience blending Chinese and Korean flavors, particularly if you are a fan of jajangmyeon or crispy sweet and sour pork, Dong Chun Hong seems to be a highly recommended, albeit possibly "hidden," local spot to try.

My 2-year-old usually doesn't like meat, but he eats the Tang Su Yok (crispy pork) here really well. It's tender on the inside and crispy on the outside — so tasty!

Talk about a HIDDEN gem!! This place was recommended to me by a good friend who is Korean so I really valued his opinion on good Korean flavors. However, I was always partial to Paik’s because I had it first there but as luck would have it, they were closing when we arrived (7:30pm) so we decided to walk over to Dong Chun Hong to try their jajangmyeon and sweet & sour pork combo. OH. MY. GOODNESS. It was absolutely incredible!!! Literally every single piece of pork was perfectly crispy, light, & delicious! LITERALLY EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. The noodles of the jajangmyeon were cooked to Al dente and the #3 combo was the perfect portion for a very hungry person. Paired with the yellow radish and sprinkle on some of the spice they provide at each table and you have yourself the best meal ever!!! 100000/10 will come again!!!! It’s kind of hidden (to me) near/under singbox in Carrollton and it’s a must-try if you enjoy black bean noodles! SO yummy!!

I had Jjamppong today, and I also tried the fried rice—it was really good! Both dishes taste even better under the new ownership. The dumpling was delicious and less oily than before. I've also noticed that the environment is much cleaner, and the staff is really nice. Thanks!

Quality has really gone down here. We had the 짬뽕, 간짜장, and 탕수육 (beef). The seafood in the jjamppong was not fresh—the mussels tasted rancid. The black bean sauce (from 간짜장) did not taste any different from regular 짜장 and tasted watered down. Also, the small pieces of pork in the sauce were so tough. The tangsuyuk consisted of mostly fried batter and extremely thin strips of meat. Overall, the substandard flavors and lukewarm temperature of the dishes clearly showed that the food was not made-to-order. The lack of a decent Korean-Chinese restaurant in Carrollton is truly unfortunate.

They were very accommodating to my dietary needs and preparing my breaded fried menu items with potatoe starch instead of wheat flour! The service was a little slow as the restaurant was nearly empty. Three menu appeared to be mostly authentic Korean dishes and a few Chinese style items. The food was good and hot but my glass was empty for most of the visit and was only filled once I was finished eating. It's worth a try and I'll go back once more to try out the service once again thanks to the accommodation for my food allergy.
