About Diverse Dim Sum
Diverse Dim Sum is a Chinese restaurant located at 133-35 Roosevelt Ave #12 in Flushing, New York. However, it's important to note that based on customer reviews, Diverse Dim Sum isn't a standalone restaurant but rather a food stall situated within a larger food court environment. This food court is located near the Skymall and appears to share similarities in layout and management with another large food court under the New World Mall in Flushing, suggesting a potentially consistent approach to the overall dining experience within these venues.
You can reach Diverse Dim Sum by phone at (347) 925-5716 or via mobile at +1 347-925-5716 for any inquiries, although as a food stall, direct reservations might not be applicable. The primary feature of Diverse Dim Sum, as highlighted by a very enthusiastic customer, is their exceptional wontons. This reviewer claims they offer the "best, most authentic wontons" they have ever tasted outside of Shanghai. Both the small and large wontons are praised as delicious, with the customer frequently purchasing a large portion for immediate consumption and a frozen pack to take home. This strong endorsement suggests that wontons are a must-try specialty at this stall.
Beyond the acclaimed wontons, Diverse Dim Sum also offers a "delicious lion's head meatball." This dish, a classic of Jiangnan cuisine, featuring a large, tender pork meatball, further indicates a focus on authentic Chinese flavors. The reviewer's desire to visit daily if they lived nearby underscores the high quality and appeal of these particular offerings.
The environment in which Diverse Dim Sum operates is a typical food court setting. It features various food stalls located around the perimeter with communal seating in the center. This setup allows diners to choose from a variety of cuisines available within the food court. According to one review, the food court at this location offers Szechuan, Lan-Zhou, USese, and other selections. While the reviewer felt it was "a little less diverse" than the larger food court under the New World Mall, they acknowledge that "all the basics are there." This suggests that while the selection might be somewhat limited compared to a larger venue, it still provides a range of popular Chinese regional dishes.
Navigating the food court, especially during busy times like lunch, can present some logistical challenges. One reviewer advises securing seating first upon arrival, as it can be inconvenient to manage a group and multiple dishes while searching for a table. This highlights the potentially crowded nature of the food court during peak hours.
In terms of services, Diverse Dim Sum operates as a "fast food a la carte" stall, which is typical for a food court setting. Customers likely place their orders at the counter and either wait for their food to be prepared for immediate consumption or purchase items for takeout, as mentioned by the satisfied wonton enthusiast who buys frozen packs. Another reviewer notes that the different stalls within the food court "can take a bit of getting used to," but the presence of "lots of pictures" is helpful for customers in making their selections. This suggests that while it's a self-service model, efforts are made to ease the ordering process for those unfamiliar with the offerings.
The food court also provides basic amenities such as restrooms, which are located in the back, as noted by one reviewer.
Regarding promotional information, no specific deals or discounts were mentioned in the provided reviews. The primary draw of Diverse Dim Sum appears to be the quality and authenticity of specific dishes like their wontons and lion's head meatball, rather than any active promotions.
For local users in Flushing, Diverse Dim Sum offers a convenient option to enjoy authentic wontons and other Chinese dishes within a food court setting near Skymall. If you are a fan of Shanghainese-style wontons or are looking to try a well-prepared lion's head meatball, this stall comes highly recommended by at least one frequent customer. The food court environment provides an opportunity to sample dishes from various regional Chinese cuisines in one location, although it can get busy, especially around lunchtime. While the overall diversity might be slightly less than other larger food courts in the area, it still offers a range of basic and popular options. For those prioritizing takeout, Diverse Dim Sum seems to be a good choice, and the availability of pictures at the stalls can aid in the ordering process.
In summary, Diverse Dim Sum is a Chinese food stall within a food court near Skymall in Flushing, NY, renowned for its authentic and delicious wontons and praised for its lion's head meatball. The environment is a typical bustling food court with communal seating and various other Chinese food vendors. Services are fast-food style a la carte, with takeout options available. While no specific promotions were mentioned, the quality of their wontons stands out as a significant feature. Local users seeking authentic wontons and a taste of other regional Chinese dishes in a convenient food court setting should consider visiting Diverse Dim Sum.

Customer Reviews
This place has the best, most authentic wontons I've ever had outside of Shanghai. Both the small and large wontons are delicious. Every time I go I get the large wontons to eat and a frozen pack to go. They have a delicious lion's head meatball too. I'd go daily if I lived nearby.
Food Court located over near the Skymall - looks to be owned by the same people that run the other large food court under the New World Mall because of the same layout and tables. Food stalls all around the edges and seating in the center. A small parking lot that's free, but can be troublesome to get your car out in busy times. Lock down seating first if you arrive near lunch. It's a pain to pull around a bunch of family and dishes in your hand otherwise. Szechuan, Lan-Zhou, Taiwanese, and other selections are here - feels a little less diverse than the other food court in Flushing just out of size, but all the basics are there. They could have a better bubble tea shop, though. This place is good for take-out and they can take a bit of getting used to on the different stalls. Lots of pictures help. Fast food a la carte, and it's pretty good. Bathrooms in the back.
The pan-fried buns were okay. Not that crispy at the bottom
Bad! Bad! Bad! I searched it online and went to try it. The rice dumplings are small and expensive. At $4 each, they are the most expensive ones I have eaten in New York. They have little meat and average taste. They are super, super, super small. When the boss gave them to me, he said I could eat them right away, but they were still cold when I touched them! Note that I came here for lunch on Sunday. I wanted two, and they wanted to force me to have three. When I said I only wanted two, the boss's attitude became extremely bad. Bad review! This is the worst store I have ever encountered in Flushing! You know how to advertise everywhere to deceive consumers.
I bought a box of fresh meat mooncakes and baked them at home. The two of us almost ate six of them in one go.
