About Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung is a Chinese Restaurant located within the Glendale Galleria at 1164 Galleria Way, Glendale, CA 91210, USA. Known for its bustling atmosphere, it is advisable to make reservations several days in advance and to arrive on time to secure your table.

The restaurant boasts a surprisingly spacious interior with an "amazing" decor that aims to transport diners to another place. For those who prefer al fresco dining, outdoor seating is available, as well as bar seating options. Customers consistently praise the staff for being friendly and helpful, indicating a positive service environment.

While Din Tai Fung is famous for its dumplings, some reviews suggest a varied experience. One customer found the xiao long bao dumplings to have a hard top skin and a somewhat flavorless filling, and the steamed bun meat to be like an untasty meatball. However, the noodles are highlighted as delicious with a perfect chewy texture and thickness. The braised beef noodle broth is noted for its complex and layered flavor. For a unique dessert, the chocolate dumplings with a salty cream are mentioned as a balanced sweet treat filled with melted chocolate.

Beyond the dumplings, the Korean style pork ribs are enthusiastically recommended as a "WOW" dish. On the other hand, the fried rice is mentioned as a disappointment. Overall, while some dishes may not meet everyone's top expectations, the environment and customer service appear to be strong points. Be prepared for a potentially expensive meal relative to the perceived quality of some items.

The xiao long bao dumplings are twisted so the top skins are hard. Also a bit flavorless... The steamed bun meat was a meatball and it was not tasty. The noodles were delicious and their texture was on point, nice chewy noodles that were the perfect thickness. There are many layers to the flavor of the braised beef noodle broth. The chocolate dumplings came with a salty cream to balance out the sweetness. It is filled with melted chocolate. Customer service is good. They are very busy. Very expensive for the quality. They did accommodate us for our reservation.

This place is bigger then I thought. The decor is amazing, it transcends you to another place. They have outdoor seating for those nice spring days and even bar seating. Every single staff member we encounter is friendly, helpful and you can tell they enjoy they do. The food is tasty, not in the top for my dumplings, but the environment helps. If you go you need to order the Korean style pork ribs, this dish is “WOW” you will thank me later. Don’t waste your time on the fried rice, I’m a fried rice guy, and I was disappointed. Make a reservation several days is advance because time slots fill up fast. Be on time because they will give your time slot away. Let know what you think

Din Tai Fung delivers an extraordinary dining experience that sets the bar for Taiwanese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth, professionalism, and a level of service that is truly exceptional. The staff is incredibly attentive without being intrusive, ensuring every detail of your meal is seamless. The restaurant itself is immaculate—every surface gleams, the open kitchen is a marvel of precision and cleanliness, and the overall atmosphere feels refined yet welcoming. Now onto the food—simply outstanding. The chicken dumplings are a standout: incredibly juicy, with delicate wrappers and a savory broth that bursts in your mouth. They’re packed with flavor and executed with perfect consistency. The pork and crab dumplings are rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. The sweetness of the crab blends beautifully with the savory pork, creating a flavor that lingers in the best way. A quick dip in the soy-vinegar-ginger sauce and they’re next-level. Don’t miss the hot and sour soup—bold, balanced, and absolutely delicious. It’s packed with just the right amount of heat and tang, and the textures of tofu, mushrooms, and egg are spot-on. Comforting, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. Din Tai Fung is a masterclass in quality, hospitality, and culinary execution. Whether you're a dumpling devotee or new to Taiwanese fare, this place will exceed expectations in every way. An absolute must-visit.

I had dinner in Din Tai Fung and it was so worth it. It needed to be booked with more than a week in advance. We ordered some Xiao long bao of pork meat (the one I liked the most) and some of crab (which my boyfriend loved), pork meat dumplings with shrimp, pork meat with shrimp pot stickers, wontons filled with pork meat and shrimp and the spicy noodle with sesame and peanut sauce. Everything I ate was good!! But the Xiao long bao and the pot stickers (from the picture) were specially good, I loved them so much. The spicy oil has a great taste.
