About Din Tai Fung
Din Tai Fung, located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd Ste 2400, Los Angeles, CA 90067, USA, is a highly acclaimed USese restaurant renowned globally, including among those familiar with international Chinese cuisine in US. While based in California, its reputation for excellent food and service precedes it. Situated within the Century City Mall, the location offers the convenience of combining dining with shopping.
Based on numerous customer reviews, Din Tai Fung is consistently praised for its great-tasting food and excellent service. It's a popular spot that tends to fill up quickly, even with reservations, so booking well in advance and arriving early is recommended. A popular way to begin a meal is with their Hot & Sour soup, noted for its delicious flavor and generous portion size, making it ideal for sharing.
Several dishes stand out as favorites among patrons. The Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons are exceptionally popular, with a unique and addictive spicy sauce that perfectly complements the wontons. The Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin is also highly recommended, described as amazingly tender with a rich and flavorful sauce, a must-try for meat lovers. Din Tai Fung is particularly famous for its Long Bao, or soup dumplings, with both the Chicken Xiao Long Bao and Pork Xiao Long Bao receiving rave reviews for their flavorful burst of soup and delicious filling.

Excellent Service and Great tasting food is what you’ll find @ Din Tai Fung! Restaurant fills up rather quickly even with reservations so make them well in advance and show up early to your time. It’s always great to start with their Hot & Sour soup. Very delicious!! It’s large enough to share with someone. My FAVORITE dishes are 1) their Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork SPICY Wontons … Love it so much I ordered 2 (8 pieces each) I’m addicted to the unique flavor of the spicy sauce which is perfectly absorbed by each wonton…Ultra delicious!!! 2) Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin!!! So amazingly TENDER and the sauce is full of rich flavor! If you like eating meat…It’s heavenly!! 3) Also incredibly amazing are their LONG BAO options: Chicken Xiao or Pork Xiao They are both a burst of flavor (orgasmic!!) with a special combination of protein & delicious soup inside Other family favorites are their Shrimp & Pork Dumplings or the Shrimp and Pork Shao Mai. Both are rich in flavor in their own unique way. Goes great with the 3 sauces at the table. Other GREAT choices are Chicken & Mushroom Buns (very tasty) Shrimp & Pork Potstickers (OMG good) Noodles w/ Spicy Sauce (delicious) Highly recommended!!
Known for their soup dumplings and overall a good spot for friendly dim sum style dishes that appeal to many. They have photos of all of their dishes which helps if you aren’t familiar with dim sum. It’s good for large groups and you can get your shopping done too since this location is at the Century City Mall. Food came out pretty fast and service was knowledgeable about the dishes. Since they have a large demand some of the dumplings can be a little dry but still flavorful!
Why does Yelp only let you check in for 4 people? Well- at least there is a mall to shop and come back. We waited about 30 minutes for a Sunday to dine in. Food was fantastic! The portions are a bit small, so we ordered 2 of everything. The fried rice was so good. It seemed basic to order, but it was really good. Soup dumplings and dessert. Also ordered the yuzu margarita- super refreshing. Came out to $75/pp
Amazing experience. If you want a guaranteed table, call at least a few days in advance. Alternatively you can wait for a table, it may take from 40-90 min. You can also do a walk-in, and maybe wait 30 min for a bar table - which could be a table too. Alternatively, you can get pickup and eat outside (and downstairs) in the general mall area. The cucumber starter was nice and refreshing. The green beans were an amazing follow-up. The shrimp noodle dish was awesome. I generally added some soy/vinegar/chili sauce for a little extra taste. The Xiao Long Bao was a great experience, I had the kurobuta pork and would highly recommend. Had the obligatory jasmine tea, which was good for cleansing the palate. I also recommend the Honey milk tea, good for a refreshing drink and optionally reduce the heat if needed.
1 of our go to spots to visit before we leave the city, Din Tai Fung never disappoints. I suggest you go early to add yourself on the waitlist or get a table because they can get pretty busy during the afternoon. We ordered the following: Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wonton, Bok Choy with Scallion-Infused Oil, Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Pot Stickers, Noodles with Sesame Sauce & Chicken Fried Rice. You can't got wrong with any of these dishes as they all tasted great. The Xiao Long Baos are small but full of flavor, I can easily eat 2-3 orders on my own so order accordingly. The service was great as usual, Shelbe was the one taking care of us at this location. She was attentive and made sure that our table was always doing good. Din Tai Fung will be a for sure visit anytime we are in the city.
