About Dimsum Garden

Welcome to Dimsum Garden, a Chinese Restaurant located at 1068 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10022, USA. As a Chinese Restaurant specializing in dim sum, Dimsum Garden offers a range of dishes for local diners. You can contact them at (646) 682-7880 or +1 646-682-7880.

According to one customer, the dim sum dishes ordered were generally very good and fresh, with notable mentions of large shrimp and a generous amount of meat rather than thick shells. The service was described as okay. However, this reviewer also noted an unusual smell within the restaurant and suggested the need for an improved air filtration system. Despite the smell, they found the food to be good and mentioned getting used to the odor after some time.

Another reviewer provided an overall three-star experience, citing food quality as the main factor. They reported that the pork ribs did not seem fresh and had a gamy taste. The Ma Po tofu was considered below average due to a lack of minced pork, resulting in a bland dish that didn't taste authentically spiced. On a positive note, they found the onion and pork dish to be tasty.

Despite these criticisms, the staff was commended for their kindness and patience, particularly for refunding the steamed pork ribs. The restaurant is described as relatively new, with a clean and comfortable dining environment.

In summary, Dimsum Garden offers a clean and comfortable setting and appears to excel in some of its dim sum offerings, particularly those featuring shrimp and meat. However, there have been reported issues with the freshness and preparation of certain dishes like the pork ribs and Ma Po tofu. The service is generally viewed positively, with staff being accommodating. Potential customers might want to inquire about the freshness and preparation of specific dishes and be aware of a reported unusual smell in the restaurant. No specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews.

All Dim sum dishes we ordered were very good and fresh(they have big shrimps and a lot of meat, not just thick shells). Service was okay. The restaurant smells funny, not sure why. They need to use some extra air filter system to filter some smell out. However the food was good and after sitting there for a while, you got used to the smell.

An overall ⭐⭐⭐ experience with this place, mainly coz of the food quality • The pork ribs were not made with fresh ingredients and had a gamy taste. • The Ma Po tofu was below average, as it lacked minced pork during the stir-fry process, which left the dish bland. Additionally, the spices used didn’t feel authentic. • The onion and pork dish (pictured in image 2) was honestly the only dish I found tasty. That said, the staff was kind enough to refund the steamed pork ribs and remained incredibly patient throughout. The restaurant is relatively new, with a clean and comfortable dining environment.

Stopped in here last weekend for a quick bite in between meals. Ordered the pork soup dumplings, and they hit the spot. It was cooked perfectly - the skin wasn’t too soft and wasn’t too chewy. There was just the right amount of soup in each dumpling, and they were tasty. Service was fine, although it did take a little longer than I expected for it to come out. They do a decent amount of take out. Will be back to try some of their other dishes!
