About Dim Sum House By Jane G's - Rittenhouse

Dim Sum House By Jane G's - Rittenhouse, located at 1930 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103, USA, is a Chinese restaurant offering a diverse menu with a focus on dim sum and other Chinese specialties. They can be contacted at (215) 563-8800 or +1 215-563-8800.

Recent customer reviews provide insights into the dining experience at Dim Sum House. One reviewer recounted an "AMAZING LUNAR NEW YEAR DINNER!!!" highlighting the festive atmosphere created by Lion Dancers. They were particularly impressed with the food, describing the Shanghai Wonton Soup and Hot & Sour Soups as "elite," the Garlic Eggplant as "💯💯💯," and the Roast Pork Bao Bun as exceptionally good. This suggests that Dim Sum House can offer a vibrant and memorable dining experience, especially during special occasions, with standout dishes.

Another customer described the food as "slightly above average Chinese food" and noted that it is a great place for groups who enjoy sharing family-style meals. Their favorite dishes included the Dan Dan noodles, praised for their soft texture and flavorful sauce, and the stewed beef and turnip. However, they were less fond of the spicy tofu fish, finding the fish too "fishy," and the texture of the string beans, which they felt were undercooked despite a good flavor from the pickled vegetables. They also enjoyed other dishes such as the soup dumplings and dry pot chicken. This review indicates a varied menu with some highly recommended items and others that may not appeal to all palates. The reviewer also mentioned slow initial service in receiving a pencil to mark the menu but noted that the food arrived quickly after ordering.

Overall, Dim Sum House By Jane G's - Rittenhouse appears to be a Chinese restaurant that offers a mix of traditional and perhaps some unique dishes, suitable for group dining. While some dishes receive high praise, like the soups, garlic eggplant, roast pork bao bun, Dan Dan noodles, and stewed beef and turnip, others, such as the spicy tofu fish and string beans, have received less favorable feedback. The restaurant seems capable of creating a festive atmosphere, as highlighted during the Lunar New Year celebration. Potential diners may want to consider the popular dishes mentioned in the reviews when making their selections.

🎊🧧 AMAZING LUNAR NEW YEAR DINNER!!! Fabulous from beginning to end! Dim Sum really brought those festival vibes with their unforgettable Lion Dancers hyping up the dining room! And the food…. OMG Every dish, every bite was memorable! The Shanghai Wonton Soup and Hot & Sour Soups were elite! The Garlic Eggplant was 💯💯💯 and The Roast Pork Bao Bun was just criminal - so good it could have been dessert!

Slightly above average Chinese food. It’s great for groups and sharing everything family style. My favorites were the Dan Dan noodles (super soft noodles and yummy sauce) and stewed beef and turnip. I did not like the spicy tofu fish as the fish was too fishy, and did not like the texture of the string beans, which felt like it was not cooked thoroughly, altho the taste was pretty good with the pickled vegetables on top. Other dishes were good as well, including the soup dumplings and dry pot chicken. We ordered a tequila shot but it tasted like it was diluted with 50% water. It also took a very long time for the waiters to even get us a pencil for marking the menu. But after we ordered the food came out quite quickly.

Wish there were some wheely food table devices like other dim sum places but overall amazing. Also would’ve loved if they had the rice paper shrimp rolls which they did not

Delicious soup dumplings ! They are complex in flavor. Really yummy. Soup in the soup dumpling is delicious. You get 8 per serving which is also really nice. I would not pass up this spot if you want tasty soup dumplings. Their Mapo tofu was amazing as well.

Great place to go after a night out. Three of us, one being vegan, were able to eat here and get al le carte dim sum options with the following descriptions below: -scallion pancakes: very crispy, light, slightly sweet -glazed crispy brussel sprouts: vegan friendly, very crispy and sweet tangy glaze -several veggie dumplings, crystal shrimp, and soup dumplings (my fave) -noodles (vegan friendly) -boa pork buns: soft, pillowy, tangy sweet inside, flavor/texture was good but not the best I’ve ever had Dishes came out at different times spanning from 5-25 minutes, so there may be a wait. Our waiter also forgot to place an order for the BBQ ribs we marked down on our sheet. Overall, great place for dim sum dinner.
