About Dim Sum Factory

Welcome to Dim Sum Factory, a Chinese Restaurant located at 4092 Factoria Blvd SE, Bellevue, WA 98006, USA. As its name suggests, Dim Sum Factory specializes in offering a wide variety of dim sum, the popular Cantonese cuisine featuring small, bite-sized portions served in steamers or on small plates. For local users in Bellevue and the surrounding areas, Dim Sum Factory presents a unique take on the traditional dim sum experience, characterized by its surprisingly generous portion sizes.

Initial skepticism regarding the menu pricing might arise, as one reviewer noted concerns about paying double digits for dishes typically served in smaller quantities at most dim sum establishments. However, Dim Sum Factory distinguishes itself by offering "double orders," meaning that instead of the usual four pieces per serving, customers receive eight pieces. This immediately addresses the perception of smaller portions and offers a more substantial quantity for each dish ordered.

The delightful surprise for many patrons is not just the doubled quantity but also the size of each individual piece. Reviews indicate that the dim sum here is significantly larger than what is commonly found, with one customer noting that "it takes 2 bites to eat one piece." This generous sizing contributes to a satisfying and potentially more filling dim sum experience compared to other restaurants.

The quality of the food at Dim Sum Factory is consistently praised as "delicious and tasty." This suggests that despite the larger portions, the restaurant maintains a high standard in the preparation and flavor of its dim sum offerings. Whether you are a long-time fan of dim sum or new to this culinary tradition, the flavorful dishes at Dim Sum Factory are likely to leave a positive impression.

In terms of service, Dim Sum Factory is noted for having an "efficient and attentive staff." This ensures a smooth and pleasant dining experience, with staff members readily available to assist with orders and address any needs. While one reviewer mentioned that the staff wasn't "really helpful" and that ordering is done via barcode, this seems to be an isolated comment against the general trend of positive feedback regarding efficiency and attentiveness.

An environmentally conscious and customer-friendly feature of Dim Sum Factory is their provision of high-quality to-go boxes without an extra charge. One reviewer specifically appreciated that they use "no cheap styrofoam" containers and do not charge for them. This thoughtful practice reflects a commitment to both quality and customer convenience.

The ordering system at Dim Sum Factory appears to be somewhat modern, utilizing barcodes. While one customer found the staff unhelpful in this process, it's important to note that this might be a matter of personal preference or a one-off experience. For tech-savvy individuals, barcode ordering could be seen as efficient and streamlined.

Specific dishes mentioned in the reviews include the beef balls soup and beef rice crepes, both of which were enjoyed by a customer. This provides a glimpse into the variety of offerings at Dim Sum Factory, extending beyond the traditional steamed and fried dumplings to include soups and rice noodle rolls.

It is worth noting that while the portions are generous, the overall cost might be perceived as "pricey dim sum," as one reviewer stated that two items came out to $30. This suggests that while you get more food for your money in terms of quantity and size per piece, the individual dish prices might be higher than at some other dim sum establishments. Therefore, customers should be prepared for a potentially higher bill but also for a more substantial and filling meal.

One minor criticism mentioned in a review was regarding the Red Vinegar available on the table, which was described as tasting "a bit watered down." While this is a small point, it's an area where the restaurant could potentially improve to enhance the overall flavor experience.

For local users in Bellevue seeking a dim sum experience with a twist, Dim Sum Factory offers a compelling option. The promise of double orders of generously sized and tasty dim sum is a significant draw. While the ordering method might be unconventional for some, the efficient and attentive service, coupled with the quality of the food and the thoughtful provision of to-go containers, contributes to a positive overall impression. Be prepared for potentially higher prices, but also for a more substantial and satisfying dim sum meal than you might typically expect.

In conclusion, Dim Sum Factory in Bellevue provides a unique approach to the beloved tradition of dim sum by offering significantly larger portions and double the quantity per order. Despite a potentially higher price point and a barcode-based ordering system, the delicious and tasty food, coupled with efficient service and thoughtful amenities, makes it a noteworthy destination for dim sum enthusiasts in the area.

I was a bit skeptical of this place based on the menu pricing. The serving size at most Dim Sum places are quite “small” (size and quantity), so to pay double digits for a dish seemed a bit steep. But we were celebrating a birthday, so it was worth trying once. I apologize for doubting this place. All items are double orders (so 8 pieces instead of 4), but what really was the delightful surprise was the size of the pieces. You know ur in a good place when it takes 2 bites to eat one piece. Food was delicious and tasty. My only criticism is the Red Vinegar on the table, tasted a bit watered down. Efficient and attentive staff. No cheap styrofoam to go boxes AND they don’t charge you for the containers. I appreciate that.

Just happened by and decided to give it a try. Staff weren't really helpful and ordering is via bar code. The portions are big and the food was pretty good (I enjoyed the two items I had, beef balls soup and beef rice crepes). Two items came out to $30, so it's a pricey dim sum.

Excellent food and fast service! Deserves a much higher rating. I especially love the baked BBQ pork pastry, but everything I've tried so far is great. If you do an online order, make sure to order on Chowbus. That's what they use for dine-in ordering (QR code menu), so the menu & prices are most accurate. Some of the other sites are missing menu items or have upcharges.

It offers good dim sum dishes but taste-wise it doesn’t stand out among others known in great Seattle area such as T&T seafood in Edmond, or those in old Chinatown or Federal Way area. We were here Saturday morning and servant seems too busy taking care of other tables and ignoring our 4 people group. The restaurant wasn’t packed with people so maybe they just don’t have enough helpers, or need a management improvement. Foods here are priced averagely compared to others mentioned above.

Food was great and somehow we got lucky enough to be eating inside when the restaurant decided to have a lion dance blessing for Lunar New Year. Service was a little slow, but understandably it was probably due to coordinating the dance (which made its way through the restaurant).
