About Dim Dim Sum

Dim Dim Sum is a Chinese restaurant located at 4750 The Grove Dr, Windermere, FL 34786, USA, specializing in a variety of dim sum dishes. According to customer reviews, the restaurant offers a diverse menu with some standout items.

The environment of Dim Dim Sum can be quiet, as one reviewer noted being the only patrons during a Tuesday dinner time, which they found unusual. However, this could also indicate a more relaxed dining atmosphere for those who prefer it.

Service details are limited, but one reviewer mentioned sitting and ordering without issue. The primary focus of the reviews is on the food itself.

Features of Dim Dim Sum include a selection of classic dim sum items. The soup dumplings were highlighted for their generous soup filling, although they had a tendency to stick together and tear. The beef siu mai and steamed dumplings were considered good, with the steamed dumplings uniquely containing shrimp. The pork bao buns were described as very tasty. Notably, the sweeter items received high praise, with the sesame balls being well-liked and the black and gold Egg Lava custard bun being a standout favorite, described as perfectly executed.

A party of four ordered a wide array of dishes, including roasted duck, shrimp eggplant, Xiao Long Bao, shrimp and beef rice rolls, beef and shrimp pork Siu Mai, shrimp wonton noodles, steamed chicken dumplings, bean curd rolls, and Singaporean style fried rice vermicelli. Their overall experience suggested that while the food was not bad, it might not meet the expectations of those seeking authentic Hong Kong Yum Cha flavors. They enjoyed the roasted duck, Siu Mai, bean curd rolls, shrimp eggplant, and Xiao Long Bao. However, they found the rice rolls and dumplings to have thick skins, which they disliked. The shrimp wonton noodles, made with Japanese ramen and chewy shrimp paste filling, were considered unusual. The Singaporean fried rice vermicelli, despite being served hot, had a burnt flavor and lacked typical spices like turmeric or curry powder.

Was always told how good the dimsum here was so I had to come try it. It's a bit of a drive for me but if you are in the area it's pretty good food. Came in on a Tuesday around dinner time and we were the only people in the entire restaurant. I thought it was odd but nonetheless we sat and ordered and ate. The soup dumplings were very good. The soup inside was really generous usually I don't get a lot of soup but these had plenty of soup in them. Only thing that was not so great, they were stuck together and when you tried to peel them apart or off eachother they ripped open and all the soup came out. The beef siu mai were good but I've had better. the steamed dumplings were also good. I do think they have shrimp in them which was unique. They had some pork bao buns that were very tasty but the best things we ordered were both on the sweeter side. We loved the sesame balls but my all time favorite was the black and gold Egg Lava custard bun. So delicious and not everyone does it right. But this one was perfect!

We (party of 4) ordered: roasted duck, shrimp eggplant, Xiao Long Bao, both shrimp and beef rice rolls (腸粉), both beef and shrimp pork Siu Mai, shrimp wonton noodles, steamed chicken dumplings, bean curd rolls (鮮竹卷), Singaporean style fried rice vermicelli (星洲炒米) We were expecting it to be like Hong Kong Yum Cha flavor wise, so if you want to come here and you have a similar expectation, this might not be the place. In general, I liked the roasted duck, Siu Mai, bean curd rolls, shrimp eggplant and Xiao Long Bao. Their rice rolls and dumplings do have thick "skins", which I didn't like. Shrimp wonton noodles were made with Japanese ramen and wonton filling was chewy because of the shrimp paste instead of whole shrimp, just felt weird to me with the modifications. I love Singaporean fried rice vermicelli so I was really excited. It was steaming hot when it came to our table, unfortunately it was filled with burnt flavor and they probably didn't put any turmeric or curry powder in, which was unusual. Their food was not bad, just that our expectations were not met.

Our search for dim sum in Windermere led us to Dim Dim Sum, and what a delightful surprise it was! With limited dim sum options in the area, we weren't sure what to expect. However, Dim Dim Sum won us over from the moment we walked in. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was the perfect setting to enjoy a leisurely dim sum experience. While the menu might not be the most extensive, the quality of the food definitely shines. The dishes we tried were all above average, bursting with fresh flavors and perfectly prepared. It might not be the absolute best dim sum I've ever had, but considering the limited options around, it was a fantastic find. But what truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and friendly, providing some of the best service we've encountered at any restaurant. If you're looking for delicious dim sum in Windermere, Dim Dim Sum is a must-try. The beautifully decorated space, high-quality food, and top-notch service make it a hidden gem.
