About Diamond Bay Restaurant

Diamond Bay Restaurant is a Chinese Restaurant located at 409 8th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104, USA. You can contact them at (206) 485-7281 or their mobile number +1 206-485-7281.

This restaurant is currently a favorite for many seeking dim sum in the area. They excel in essential dim sum dishes such as siu mai, shrimp balls, tripe, sticky rice, and lo bak go. Notably, their siu mai and shrimp balls have a unique and delicious sesame flavor that sets them apart from other dim sum establishments. Most of the food is served hot.

In addition to dim sum, Diamond Bay Restaurant also offers a really delicious dinner menu. The wings are a particularly popular item, with customers ordering them repeatedly and praising their taste, although there have been a couple of instances where they were reported as being quite salty.

The restaurant boasts a very spacious and inviting environment. The service is generally considered excellent, although it may become less consistent on very busy days due to the high volume of customers. Overall, the restaurant provides a good atmosphere and tasty food.

A recent first-time visitor in January 2025 noted that the restaurant is nicely decorated and appears relatively new. It was very busy, accommodating many large groups. However, their table near the wall by the door was affected by cold drafts due to frequent door openings. While they found the food to be good, drawing comparisons to Joy Palace and Honey Court, they felt the dim sum menu was smaller than expected. Prices were described as average, and while food arrived reasonably quickly, not all dishes were served hot.

If you are in Seattle's International District and looking for a Chinese Restaurant specializing in dim sum with unique flavors and a spacious setting, Diamond Bay Restaurant is a popular choice. Their dinner menu, especially the wings, is also worth exploring. Be mindful of potential drafts near the door and possible variations in service during peak hours.

My new favorite dim sum restaurant right now! You gotta get the essentials right…siu Mai, shrimp balls, tripe, sticky rice, and lo bak go, etc and this place hits! The sui mais and shrimp balls have this yummy sesame flavor that’s different than the other dim sum restaurants. Most of the food comes out hot. Their dinner menu is also really delicious. I’ve ordered the wings several times and they’ve been soooo good! A couple times though they have been really salty. The place is very spacious and inviting. Service is excellent…although on a busy day, it can be not as great. But overall, good food and good vibes

First visit on Jan 1, 2025. The restaurant is nicely decorated & still new. It was very busy, lots of large groups. We were seated at a table by the wall & the door kept opening. It kept very cold air coming in the whole time. The food was good, I think same has Joy Palace & Honey court. Dimsum menu was smaller than I expected. Prices is average. Food came out reasonably quickly but not all dishes were hot.

Diamond bay was bustling and energetic when I went. The first thing that struck me was the sheer size of the place - it's incredibly spacious, which is a welcome change from cramped Seattle restaurants. The lively atmosphere adds to the appeal, making it an authentic dim sum experience. The food quality was decent overall, I thought. Nothing blew me away, but everything we ordered was well-prepared and tasted good. Service was also perfectly fine. I didn't love the extra charge for tea, however. It's a small detail, but definitely annoying. Diamond Bay Restaurant is a solid choice for casual dim sum. Just bring your own tea (kidding)

We went here with a big group on Sunday for lunch. The place was packed, but we got seated fairly quickly since they had us on the large tables for a bigger party. We went with a group of 20. So 2 tables that can fit around 9-10 each. Parking...as usual, around downtown Chinatown, this is always a fight to find a spot. They have like a small lot across the street but all the best in finding a spot there on a busy time. You have to be willing to drive and walk a bit to find some parking here...but it's worth it! I would say the quality of the Dim Sum is definitely on the high quality with fair prices! I don't think there was any bad dishes when it comes to their Dim Sum, we tried almost everything on the menu. Siu Mai, har Gao, bean curd roll, dry string beans, chicken feet, and many more, they were good. It's about time that we have another great dim sum spot here in Chinatown. I wish they were open in Lynnwood area since I'd be visiting this place more often. If the choice was between driving to Top Gun in Bellevue vs Diamond Bay in Chinatown, I'd choose Diamond Bay anytime. Service was great, food came fairly quick. Servers were very nice. Drinks were refilled often. They give to go boxes if you need it. Place was large and can accommodate many. I heard it can be rented as a venue for a party or wedding etc. I wish I took more pictures of the food. I only got the initial photos then we were so hungry that we just keep eating and photos was easily forgotten. Definitely a place to check out if you are craving dim sum and is willing to go to Chinatown for it.

Beautiful banquet style restaurant, reminds me of Vancouver. So spacious and big and fancy decor. Perfect for special events. My favorite place is Chiang's Gourmet am but I think this restaurant is a great dinner choice in Chinatown because you can get fancier meat dishes here, like cha siu soy sauce chicken ginger chicken, etc. They have upstairs private rooms.
