About Desi Hakka Affairs

Desi Hakka Affairs is a Chinese restaurant located at 3415 Dixie Rd Unit 4A in Mississauga, Ontario, specializing in Desi Hakka, a style of Indian-Chinese cuisine. They can be contacted at (905) 232-7080 or +1 905-232-7080.

Customer reviews present a mixed perspective on Desi Hakka Affairs. One reviewer enjoyed the soup and tandoori paneer but found the chilly chicken too tough, leading to a replacement. The server reportedly discouraged ordering other chicken dishes due to potential similar texture issues. The chowmein, however, was considered a good and safe choice.

Another customer noted that the portion sizes are generous, allowing for leftovers. However, their overall experience with the food was underwhelming. They described the Tandoori Chicken Momos as having an odd texture—chewy at the bottom and overly crispy at the creases—and lacking the expected smoky, juicy flavor. The Schezwan Noodles were found to be bland and lacking in spice and umami, requiring the addition of chili vinegar for flavor. The portion sizes were mentioned as decent.

The ambiance of the restaurant was described as quiet, with only one other couple dining during one reviewer's visit, making the space feel somewhat empty. The service was noted as attentive and polite.

In terms of pricing, Desi Hakka Affairs falls into the $$$ range, leading to expectations of flavors that justify the cost. One reviewer felt that their experience did not entirely meet this price point. A redeeming factor mentioned was the happy hour beers priced at $4.99.

Overall, Desi Hakka Affairs might be a suitable option for those specifically seeking Desi Hakka cuisine in the area, especially for dishes like the soup, tandoori paneer, and chowmein. However, potential customers should be aware of the mixed reviews regarding the texture and flavor of certain dishes, the quiet ambiance, and the higher pricing. Trying the restaurant may be the best way for individuals to form their own opinion.

I liked the soup and tandoori paneer however the chilly chicken was so hard to chew that we had to ask for replacement. The server didn’t seem happy to replace and suggested us not to order any chicken meal as it may have same texture so we ordered what we thought to be the safest option of any Hakka restaurant- chowmein. I don’t regret ordering as it was good. Portion size is good. We could save some food for later as it was only 2 of us, so couldn’t finish the meals.

Desi Hakka Affairs – A Missed Affair with Flavors As someone who has explored countless restaurants over the years, I walked into Desi Hakka Affairs hoping to indulge in the bold, nostalgic flavors of Indian-Chinese cuisine. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Food: A Tale of Lost Potential We ordered the Tandoori Chicken Momos (8 pieces) and Schezwan Noodles (mild spice level). Tandoori Chicken Momos: A promising dish on paper, but the execution missed the mark. The momos were fried first and then baked, resulting in an odd texture—chewy at the bottom and overly crispy at the creases. Instead of the smoky, juicy bite one hopes for in tandoori-style dumplings, these leaned more toward dry and tough. Schezwan Noodles: Bland, lacking the fiery punch or umami depth that defines great Hakka noodles. We had to add green chili vinegar just to wake up the flavors. The saving grace? Decent portion sizes. Service & Ambiance: A Quiet Evening The service was attentive and polite, but the ambiance felt underwhelming. Only one other couple dined while we were there, making the space feel somewhat empty. Pricing & Value: $$$ But Does It Deliver? With its pricing in the $$$ range, one would expect flavors that justify the cost. However, the experience didn’t quite match the price point. On the upside, their happy hour beers at $4.99 added a slight redeeming factor. Final Verdict: Worth a Try? If you’re desperate for Desi Hakka and have no better options, this place might suffice. However, based on my visit, it’s a restaurant that leaves you wanting more—not in a good way. That said, food is subjective, and every experience is unique. Try it for yourself and see where you land.

The Desi Hakka affairs is more Desi (indian) than Hakka. The indian fare is good but avoid the Chinese one. They don’t have a clue. The chicken firm foul was acceptable but the Chinese Chow Mein imitated an American chop suet. The beef ginger was more batter than beef. Avoid!

The food here is SO good. It's our second time coming back. My favorites are the Chicken 65, Tikka Paneer, and Chicken Hakka Lollipops. Their garlic naan is awesome too. Service was great, and food wasn't too expensive. We ordered 8 dishes for 3 people and it came out to $117 before tip, and we had plenty of leftovers, I'd say we ate less than half of the food. They accommodated our nut allergy really well! The chef marked all the items that have nuts in them on a takeout menu for us so that we could easily see what was safe to order

The food tastes good but the oil in the food is beyond normal. The price for 4 items was around $66 so that was also a bit expensive especially when comparing it to the quantity that was given. Good to try this place once and then move on
