As a local Chinese Restaurant, Delicious Garden has received varied feedback from customers. One recurring point of praise for their takeout service is its general reliability. However, a customer expressed concern about the inconsistent salt content in certain dishes, specifically mentioning the Hunan Shrimp becoming unacceptably salty on multiple occasions. Despite raising this issue with the restaurant, the response indicated the salt level was considered "normal." This customer has since sought alternative dining options due to this issue affecting their enjoyment of the food.

In contrast, another reviewer had a very positive experience with Delicious Garden's delivery service. They highlighted the careful packaging, warm food upon arrival, and the excellent quality of several dishes. The Egg Drop Soup was described as the best they had tasted in the area, noting its thickness and lack of excessive salt. The Egg Rolls were also well-received for being crisp and flavorful.

The "Kung Pao Dragon and Phoenix" dish, featuring both shrimp and chicken, was lauded as "flat out" excellent with a good spice level. The Mongolian Beef was also a standout, appreciated for having a noticeable heat, a characteristic this reviewer had been seeking in local Chinese restaurants. The reviewer also found the steamed and fried rice to be well-prepared, with the fried rice not being overly oily.

Overall, this reviewer concluded that Delicious Garden II was the best among the Chinese delivery options they had tried in the area, praising the quality of the meal and the absence of excessive oil. They awarded the restaurant a five-star rating, recommending it to those seeking a taste similar to Chinese food found in California.

Based on recent feedback, Delicious Garden appears to offer reliable takeout and a commendable delivery service with several highly-rated dishes. However, potential inconsistencies in the salt content of certain items, as mentioned by one customer, might be a point to consider. For the most current information on their menu and any promotions, contacting Delicious Garden directly at (830) 627-3000 is advisable.

We usually use take out, which is very good service most of the time. I used to love the Hunan Shrimp. However, the last few times the salt content was unacceptable. I couldn't eat it. We called the restaurant and the owner or manager checked it and said it was "normal". The second time, it was the same scenario. We tried once more and the same thing happened. This last time I ordered something else which was just "OK". We are looking for a different restaurant since we love Chinese food, but it doesn't help my preference for this food when it is too salty to taste it. I am capable of adding salt to my dinner. I don't want others adding so much it makes the food mediocre at best.

I have been on a quest to find some Chinese food that I like the most aside from the buffet. Lets face it, I have to actually drive there and it is next to a tax place so I am reminded of that extension I filed. Anyhow, the good news is that I found a place that is pretty darn good after trying out three others. I have decided that Delicious Garden II will be my final resting point for delivery. As always, I will start with the “As Delivered” and then get right to my thoughts on each item. The quality of the packaging and delivery did not disappoint. Everything was warm and so tightly secured in the bag, the driver would have to be running laps in Nascar to mess it up. Since I ordered a side of Egg Drop Soup (Egg Rolls were included at one per entrée) I am going to tackle them both simultaneously. The Egg Drop soup (my friends fault as she created the idea in my mind) was excellent and by far the best I have tasted in this area from delivery. It was nice and thick, the flavor was fantastic, and most importantly, it was not overly salty. Just a great body to this soup. The Egg Rolls were spot on and I completely enjoyed them with my Low Sodium Soy. Crisp. Flavorful. Held up to the Soy Sauce and I sure did not look back with each bite. The first dish on deck is the “Kung Pao Dragon and Phoenix.” I was not quite sure what was going to be in it, but it sure was good! Shrimp was one of the additions and it was cooked well and added a very nice twist with the Chicken. This was just “flat out” an excellent dish and I was very happy. The spice level was quite nice and for once, someone got it closer to what I wanted/expected without a request. The meat was tender, juicy, and with everything else this is a winning combo. The second dish was Mongolian Beef, and I am quite picky about this one as it is a favorite of mine. While I love the Chinese Restaurants in California, this is the first time that I got to eat this dish here and it had heat to it! Finally!! I can only imagine if I asked for more and I’m smiling about that option. The meat was of good quality, and I didn’t find myself having to put a piece in the trash due to gristle. This meal was a homerun by this cooking crew, and I look forward to having some of the other items off their menu!! Moving along to the rice…no complaints. The Steamed Rice was perfectly tender and moist when it arrived. The much tricker Fried Rice was also well done and not overly oily like the past few that I have had. This was cooked properly and I appreciated that as an option without an additional charge. Right on! My only complaint is that I would have enjoyed just a bit more than a small piece of egg, but I know you are making things in a large batch so not much fault there. I ate it and enjoyed it! Final Thoughts: This restaurant was the last one on the road when it came to who would be the place I went to for Chinese Delivery. Nothing against the restaurant; they were closed when I wanted to order so that is on me. The reality here is this: Out of four, this is the best one, and I am happy to give them five stars as I not only had a quality meal, but my stomach was not overtaken by oil. These folks do a great job and if you’re looking for something that you are more used to like the small places we get food from in Cali, I would aim your compass in this direction. Well done Delicious Garden II. Well done.

I’ve lived in the area for a few years now and have given this place several chances(at least 10 take out orders) but tonight is the last. Ordered the sesame chicken and chicken lo mein. The sesame chicken is bland at best but filling. The Lo Mein was not even edible and went straight into the trash. It had the weirdest taste and smell🤢 Spent $30 on two meals which to their credit is a good amount of food but I’ll be driving into town to get Chinese food from now on. I have never eaten here but the staff has always been friendly. My issue is that the food is simply not good.

Been to this location several times and the food is always good. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken and wonton soup. Parking is limited, because it’s shared w/other business. It’s a walk in restaurant and then you order at the counter. Then food is brought out to you. Very clean restaurant.

Service ok owner pretty nice when they get to know you. The food is great though they have delicious garlic chicken, teriyaki chicken, soup, egg rolls, cream cheese wontons and rice and lomein all great items here. I have also tried the Singapore noodles if you like curry it's great. I love almost everything they make I drive from seguin to new braunfels to eat there because we don't have anything great to eat here in town. Especially Chinese food.
