Exceptional Chinese food with exceptional service. Definitely best to make a reservation for expected busy evenings. Highly recommend. Parking available around building. Casual dress is fine.

Every time we have dinner at Dao the dinner is fantastic!! Everyone who works at Dao make you feel welcome! The chef is not only a culinary artist but a sculptor!!! It’s worth going not only for the food but the sculpture on the plate!!! I highly recommend Dao !!

Dao Madison was everything I had hoped it would be, and so much more!!! This is not your typical Chinese take-out. Dining here is an experience from the moment you walk through the doors. The staff is very welcoming, cheerful and accommodating to every detail. Our server was very helpful in suggesting dishes, and we felt like a part of the family having a home cooked meal. Everything we tried was prepared with a delicate-ness, finesse and great amount of detail. Every dish tasted so fresh and flavorful. Nothing was overpowering, oily or greasy. On this visit, we had hot and sour soup, soup dumplings (a must in all future visits!), scallion pancakes that were still dreaming of, the house special crispy duck, and something we never heard of, the Mala Dry Pot, which is a type of stir-fry cooking with peppers and fresh basil with pork, beef and chicken. All were outstanding!! We took home a menu, and are planning many future visits to try as many different dishes as we can! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough: you will not be disappointed and most likely will be thinking about your next visit.

I never give reviews but I had to because this place was amazing. The soup dumplings were sumptuous, the Szechuan dumpling sauce was so pungent without being overpoweringly spicy, and the chicken and broccoli, which would have been an easy dish to phone in and make like any other Chinese place, was so perfectly cooked and flavorful. We were full without being overstuffed. Also, the staff accommodated us with a baby stroller on Christmas Eve on fairly short notice with nothing but good nature.

Truly a hidden gen in Jersey! Authentic Chinese food with infamous soup dumplings, the scallion pancake and the Peking duck. It tastes like home and will come back again for sure. So glad I have this place close to home and I no longer need to go to the city for Chinese food. Hands down. Service was nice and the place is so clean!
