Based on customer reviews, Da Sichuan Bistro is highly regarded for its authentic Sichuan cuisine. One reviewer who loves Sichuan food considers this place a favorite and specifically recommends the Manchurian chicken, sautéed cabbage, and string beans as delicious options.

Another customer expressed surprise at the restaurant's sub-4-star rating, strongly praising the authentic Sichuan flavors of the dishes and the extreme kindness and welcoming nature of the owners. While acknowledging that the decor might be older and somewhat run-down, this reviewer drew a parallel to other establishments where the best authentic Chinese food is often found in such settings. They specifically highlighted the "pretty damn good" boiled fish fillet, noting its tenderness but suggesting it could be spicier for those with a high spice tolerance. They also found the dry sautéed string beans to be good and tender. This reviewer felt the restaurant deserved a higher rating, suggesting at least a 4.5/5 and expressing their intention to return to try more dishes.

As a local Chinese restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine, Da Sichuan Bistro offers flavorful and authentic dishes, with particularly positive feedback regarding the taste and the hospitality of the owners. While the ambiance might be perceived as less modern, the focus appears to be on delivering genuine Sichuan flavors that many customers appreciate.

Amazing food! I love Sichuan food and this place is one of my favorites. The Manchurian chicken is a must, and the sautéed cabbage and string beans are delicious as well.

I am truly perplexed on why this business is a sub 4 star. It can't possibly be the food - the sichuan flavors are definitely there in the dishes. Is it the service? Can't be...the owners are extremely kind and welcoming! Is it the decor? Probably, it's old and run down but you're most likely to find the best authentic chinese food at hole in the walls (in most cases, I've had 10/10 at yang kee dumpling which was a spotless new restaurant). I truly believe this restaurant is worth trying especially if you live in the area. I got: Boiled fish filet: 4.5/5 pretty damn good! the fish was extremely tender. my only gripe is it could have been spicier but I have a crazy high tolerance. Dry sauteed string beans: 4/5 nothing crazy but good and tender I will be back to try more dishes, but the 3.7 stars is definitely selling this place short. At least 4.5/5 for me.

For the price I love the food at Da Sichuan restaurant. I think some of the negative reviews are not taking into account the price range of the food (and tempering their expectations accordingly). I like their lamb dish and enjoyed their braised egg plant. The portion size is moderate. Service is nice and parking is at the back so it’s easy to drive to

This is my favorite sichuan restaurant. The food is really delicious, and the flavors are quite authentic. They do have Americanized dishes, but I’ve never ordered those. Their numbing spice (mala) flavor is excellent, it’s quite hot although not unbearably so. They have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Particularly of note are the vegan variants of classic sichuan dishes, such as dandan noodles and twice cooked pork. Besides those two, some other of my favorite dishes of theirs are the chuanbei liangfen, garlic eggplant, Manchurian chicken. I also have nothing bad to say about the service, the waitress has always been very welcoming and quite funny whenever I’ve visited.

Mixed experiences with this restaurant. They have a huge menu, and take out orders are usually ready in ~10 minutes. While convenient, this is generally a sign that the food is mostly frozen and reheated to order. There’s no way they’d be able to keep so many ingredients fresh with the relatively low volume they have. The food also tastes kinda like it’s reheated from frozen. As others have pointed, the menu items don’t really look like the pictures and I’m pretty sure this is the reason. Also, this is essentially a take-out only place. They have tables there, but the restaurant is usually empty. I suggest calling to order, as their prices are higher on DoorDash and their website doesn’t work very well. That being said, it’s a good option for quick Chinese food, and the staff are friendly and hard-working.
