Da Hong Pao Restaurant and Bar

Food was awesome, it was all good. Ordered a lot and our favorite is the Peking duck. Service was super fast, I thought Barry Allen worked there. Place is really easy to get to and ambiance, is … just like any other restaurants BUT we didn’t go there for the ambiance.

Nice and cozy. Very friendly, professional and courteous staffs, way better than all the other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. I would definitely come back if I need comfort foods. Honestly I don’t enjoy the Hot&Sour soup, it is thicker than expected. But all the others are great! But Chicken feet is amazing! Porridge is very generous and delicious as well.

Dim sum is brought out from the kitchen rather than served from steam carts going around the restaurant. As for the taste and quality, they depend on what item you order. I liked the bean curd roll and the shrimp stuffed tofu but the fried chive dumplings were gummy. Prices start at $5.25 per order and go up to over $10. The service was pleasant but weekends are extremely busy here.

4/11/24 Had to have Dim Sum while in DC 😀 It was like the old dim sum places in NYC! Turns out it's because most of the staff is from NYC, hehehe Tripe Never had it this way. It's good Chicken Feet The only complaint is that they were cut in half, so more bone fragments. But taste great. Sticky Rice It needed more meat but was good Shrimp Roll Ah, memories of my childhood in NY Chinatown Eggplant stuffed with Shrimp This is good Crispy Pork So crispy! Delicious Roast Duck This skin was crispy been forever since I've had crispy skin on the duck Salt and Pepper Squid Usually avoid ordering this because it's usually gummy. But this was delicious Definitely come back next time we're in DC

Cheap and good dim sum, really fast service. It was about a 15 minute wait for lunch on Saturday. Really enjoyed the soup dumplings and beef chow fun, not so crazy about the steamed pork buns.
