This is a hidden gem. They have authentic Szechuan dishes. The dumplings are homemade. You can taste the Quality in it. The fish in Mandarin sauce was amazing. The tuna taco was fresh and crispy. The gray short rib was so tender and favorful. The winter rose was scrumptious. The Dan Dan noodles was so soft and spicy. The fried rice was good. The rice roll in brown sugar was sweet and soft. It's pricey, but worth every penny. Staff was so helpful and nice. Definitely will be back

Food is alright, portion is kind of small considering the price. The worst is the service. Served by a tall lady wearing leggings with inpatient and contemptuous face all the time. There was zero service throughout the dining, all waiters seemed disappeared - Oh I see they were busy serving the Non Chinese guests with full face of sunny smiles we never expected 1/10 of, great! What’s more ridiculous, when they hand us the bill, we realized one dish’s price is higher than what’s on the menu, the leggings lady arrogantly said “we have the right to modify the price” (“我们有权修改价格”). Everything was just so great, worth the 1 star rating. Would give ZERO if I could. …………………………………………………………… Hi, the clownish owner: Thanks for your loooong and entertaining response, I really appreciate your dedication trying to fight back every bad review instead of sparing some to serve the guests well. First, thanks for the hearty hot water and “allowing” us extra time looking at menu. Do you know why we need extra time? It’s because what we wanted to order was not available. It’s not until we ask to know there were more items unavailable. And, I do feel sorry for your struggle trying to find what few services you actually provided and realized you have to claim this “allowing extra time” as the credit. Second, about Chinese guests bias. There was an American couple sitting in front of us, I bet you would feel much less struggle when naming the services you provided to them: sunny smile, chatty tongues, attentive service throughout their dinning and warm “thank you” closing their bill. Meanwhile we were out of water and napkins, who ever came to help? All waiters disappeared since serving the first dish until we asked for the bill. We understand the biased services because many Chinese restaurants do so, but they at least hold the bottom line of service. Third, what is the bottom line? That comes the price discrepancy dispute. We understand the price on the menu could be outdated, we also paid the higher actual price, but what is “we have the right to amend the price” with contemptuous attitude? Maybe we should feel sorry for not being aware of the outdated menu even though you handed to us and for not knowing your SUPREME right to alter the price without any notice. We are sorry for wasting your time explaining to us. Then with mutual respect that you had frequently mentioned in your response, you should feel delighted with the 1 star review because it’s actually a 5 star review in the inverse world :) Finally, again we appreciate your long excuses, that would definitely help more guests realize how arrogant and deceptive your restaurant is. Best spicy menu in south shore, but plenty of options for non spicy lovers too, great for kids and families. Sushi options are fantastic. I love certain dishes like the diced chicken with chilis that you can’t get outside of Chinatown except for here. I crave this place constantly.

The bartender was very nice and attentive. She remembered me and my drink order! The miso soup was very good, onions a little strong but great flavor. As far as miso’s go 8/10. I ordered a spicy crab roll and a galaxy roll (no tobiko) to go. The spicy crab roll, (I really wanted to like it and was craving it)… just a tempura crumb roll with a teeny tiny piece of crab. I know it’s $6 but… 🙁 The galaxy roll was good, but I wish they had chopped the cucumber and not put such a solid piece in each one, I thought that was pretty weird. I will say they have fantastic Mai Tais and really amazing General Gao Chicken. That was the best part of the experience, hands down.

Food was good. Servers were efficient and fast, not very chatty. A woman, perhaps the manager, did come over later to make conversation. She was lovely. She explained that Cubist Circle really specializes in spicy cuisine and invited me to return to try other dishes. My Hot and Sour soup and Cucumber with Garlic were really delicious. Green tea came in a mug with a Bigelow tea bag, as opposed to in a tea pot. Atmosphere is big, lots of space, large rooms, feels like a venue for events not like a regular restaurant. I was quite chilly and the bathroom was cold. I think if it had been crowded at night, the feel would have been quite different.
