About crown wok

Crown Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 6719 Platt Ave, at the corner of Platt Avenue and Vanowen Street, in West Hills, CA 91307, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Crown Wok aims to serve the West Hills community with a variety of Chinese culinary offerings. Its location at a prominent intersection makes it accessible to local residents and those passing through the area.

For inquiries or to place orders, Crown Wok can be contacted at (818) 340-6928 or via their mobile phone number +1 818-340-6928. These contact details are essential for customers looking to make reservations (if available), inquire about the menu, or arrange for takeout services.

The online customer reviews for Crown Wok present a mixed and evolving picture of the dining experience. One reviewer, who had dined there occasionally, consistently ordered the Orange Chicken with steamed rice and found it to be "pretty good." This suggests that the Orange Chicken might be a popular and reliably prepared dish at Crown Wok. The reviewer also noted several positive aspects, including an "A" rating from the city health department, good friendly and fast service, and the impression that the food was fresh and made to order. A minor drawback mentioned was the absence of fountain drinks, with only canned sodas available. During a certain period, all staff were observed wearing masks, and the restaurant appeared clean. The presence of plenty of parking was also noted, along with a temporary shift to "to go" orders only, which might have been related to specific circumstances or health guidelines at the time of the review. This reviewer considered Crown Wok a "not bad choice," especially for those on lunch breaks.

However, more recent feedback indicates a significant shift in the restaurant's quality, reportedly coinciding with new ownership. One reviewer stated that "under new ownership, the quality of the food especially the meat is appalling." This is a strong negative assessment, suggesting a considerable decline in the standard of ingredients, particularly the meat used in their dishes.

Adding to the concerns, the same reviewer also raised issues regarding the restaurant's attitude towards community health during the pandemic. They alleged that Crown Wok "refused to wear masks during the pandemic even after being cited by the health department," indicating a disregard for public health guidelines and potentially the well-being of their customers and the community. This is a serious accusation that could influence the perception of the restaurant beyond just the quality of its food.

Considering these reviews, Crown Wok appears to have had a period where it was known for consistently decent food, particularly the Orange Chicken, along with good service and hygiene standards. However, more recent feedback points to a significant decline in food quality, especially concerning the meat, since the restaurant came under new ownership. Additionally, past issues with mask adherence during the pandemic may be a concern for some potential customers.

As a Chinese restaurant, Crown Wok likely offers a range of classic and popular Chinese dishes beyond their Orange Chicken. These typically include items such as fried rice, noodles, various chicken, beef, and pork entrees, as well as seafood and vegetable options. However, the recent negative review regarding meat quality casts doubt on the current standard of these offerings.

The environment of Crown Wok seems to include a dine-in area, as implied by the long-time customer's reference to "dining here occasionally." The restaurant was also observed to be "pretty clean" at one point. The availability of "plenty of parking" suggests a convenient location for customers who choose to dine in or pick up takeout orders. The temporary shift to "to go only" indicates a flexibility in service modes depending on circumstances.

The services offered by Crown Wok include at least dine-in and takeout. The service was described as "good friendly" and "pretty fast" by one reviewer, although this was before the reported change in ownership. The availability of only canned sodas for beverages is a noted limitation. Delivery service is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, so its availability is unknown.

Features of Crown Wok, based on the earlier positive review, included consistently "pretty good" Orange Chicken, a good health department rating, friendly and fast service, and the use of seemingly fresh, made-to-order food. However, the significant negative feedback regarding the appalling meat quality under new ownership has overshadowed these previous features. The past issue with mask adherence might also be considered an undesirable feature for some.

The provided text does not contain any information about current promotional offers or special deals at Crown Wok. Local users interested in such information would need to check local advertising platforms or contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, Crown Wok in West Hills, CA, presents a cautionary tale of potential decline under new ownership. While it once had a reputation for consistently good Orange Chicken, friendly service, and a clean environment, recent reviews indicate a severe drop in food quality, particularly the meat. Additionally, past issues with mask adherence during the pandemic may deter some customers. Local users considering Crown Wok should be aware of this recent negative feedback and may want to seek more up-to-date reviews or exercise caution before patronizing this establishment.

I have dined here occasionally and every time I have ordered the Orange chicken with steamed rice. All in all it is consistently pretty good. The restaurant has an "A" rating from the city health department. Good friendly service and it was pretty fast. Food seemed fresh and is made to order. Only downfall is there are no fountain drinks so you'll have to grab a canned soda. Every one was wearing a mask and the restaurant seemed pretty clean. Plenty of parking and everything is to go for now. Not a bad choice for those who are on their lunch breaks.

Under new ownership, the quality of the food especially the meat is appalling. But what made it worse for me was the fact that they just don't care about the community and refused to wear masks during the pandemic even after being cited by the health department
