About Cris and John

Cris and John, located at 5555 Preston Oaks Rd UNIT 5, Dallas, TX 75254, USA, offers a unique culinary experience by blending Vietnamese street food with a Mexican twist. You can contact them at (972) 803-4750 or mobile +1 972-803-4750.

Initial impressions of the restaurant's exterior might be misleading, as one customer noted feeling nervous upon arrival due to its appearance. However, the popularity of Cris and John quickly becomes evident, with lines forming even before the restaurant officially opens.

A highlight of the menu appears to be the platter featuring birria tacos and the unique phoritto (a combination of pho and burrito). Priced at around $35, this platter also includes wings and fries, proving to be more than enough food for a group, with leftovers to take home. Customers have raved about the deliciousness of these items. The chicken eggrolls are also highly recommended, described as crispy and very tasty, accompanied by a sauce with a hint of sweet and spice.

While the churros were noted to be a little harder than expected, they were still considered very tasty. The generous portion sizes ensure that customers often have enough food for leftovers, providing great value.

The restaurant itself is described as small, which contributes to potential wait times. It is recommended to visit Cris and John when they first open, possibly even arriving before the official opening time, to secure a spot.

Overall, Cris and John offers a worthwhile culinary adventure, delivering delicious and satisfying fusion cuisine that has garnered attention from "Instagram foodies." The combination of Vietnamese street food with Mexican influences results in unique and flavorful dishes that customers are eager to try. Despite the small size and potential for lines, the quality and taste of the food make Cris and John a place many would definitely return to.

When we pulled in I was actually very nervous from the look of the outside of the place. But there was a line by the time we found a place to park. My husband and I visited with our son, his wife and baby. We got a platter that had the birria tacos and the phoritto. It was about $35 but it had wings, fries, 2 tacos and the phoritto. It was more than enough food for us. And it was sooooo good! We bought some chicken eggrolls and they were crispy and very tasty. The sauce was a hint of sweet and spice! Very good! We tried the churros - they were a little harder than I expected but they were very tasty nonetheless. We had enough food to take home and it will make lunch for one of us! Overall, I would definitely go back! (The place is small - I recommend going when they first open and maybe being there even before they open!)

Instagram foodies were not wrong. This place is worth a visit, delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect of Vietnamese Street food with a Mexican twist, but everything I tried was delicious. We got a sampler platter and the chicken skewer appetizer. We had plenty to eat and leftovers the next day. Short wait time on a Wednesday.

I had dinner here with a group of 5 people and we had a great experience. We ordered a variety of menu items including tacos, Bao buns, the Phodilla and Bao platter, street fries, spring rolls, dumplings and five spice honey glazed chicken skewers plus a salad bowl. Everything we ordered had fantastic flavor, was fresh and very well priced. The service was fast and they checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good with our order. We went on a Friday night and a line can form, but it moves quickly and they work to keep things moving. I would love to return when we are back in the area because their food is excellent and very inexpensive for the quality and quantity they serve. Highly recommend!

My friend and I were looking for random placing to check out and boy it did not disappoint. The food is very filling. Place was average size. End up ordering the Angry Pho Birria Platter it was very good. The wings are cooked well. Price is reasonable if you don’t order the platter. Customer service one of the best I seen in a while. They make sure to check on you. Pretty family friendly for those with kids. Definitely will come back!

It was a busy Sunday, but we moved through the line quickly and got our meals not long after. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. The pho is very very good. The meat was amazing quality and not chewy. Very flavorful. We can’t wait to go back to try more! :)
