About Crazy Pepper

Located at 2257 San Jose Avenue in San Francisco, Crazy Pepper is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered a loyal following among local users. As a member of the 'Chinese Restaurant' category, it offers a diverse menu with a particular emphasis on flavorful dishes, including their highly acclaimed Korean wings. With contact numbers (415) 337-1888 and +1 415-337-1888, Crazy Pepper provides both dine-in and delivery services to cater to the needs of its customers.

Based on customer reviews, the environment of Crazy Pepper is not extensively detailed, but it appears to be a place where the focus is primarily on the quality of the food and the efficiency of service, especially delivery. One long-time customer suggests ordering directly from the restaurant for better prices and quick delivery. However, another first-time visitor mentioned a less-than-welcoming experience at the counter, indicating that the ambiance or customer interaction might vary. This suggests that while the food is a major draw, the in-person experience could be inconsistent.

The services offered by Crazy Pepper include both dine-in and takeout, with a strong emphasis on delivery. One reviewer specifically praised the speed of their delivery service, highlighting it as a significant convenience. Ordering directly from the restaurant is recommended by a regular customer, implying a potentially smoother process or better value compared to third-party platforms. However, a first-time customer attempting to dine in shortly before closing was turned away, suggesting that their stated closing times are strictly adhered to, which might be a point of consideration for those planning to eat at the restaurant.

A standout feature of Crazy Pepper is undoubtedly their Spicy Korean wings, which have received high praise from multiple reviewers. One customer even ranked them among the best they've had in San Francisco, second only to a well-known establishment. These wings are described as "very flavorful" with "crispy chicken and zesty sauce that you really can’t get enough of." Despite being priced at $19 for 10 wings (which is noted as typical for San Francisco), the quality and taste seem to justify the cost for many. Other popular dishes mentioned by a long-time fan include the Mongolian beef, General Tso chicken, and walnut prawns, indicating a diverse menu with several well-received options.

While one loyal customer reminisced about a past "buy one get one rice or chow mien" promotion from when the restaurant first opened, there is no current promotional information explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. The fact that a customer remembers a previous offer suggests that Crazy Pepper may have engaged in promotions in the past to attract and retain customers. However, local users would need to inquire directly with the restaurant to learn about any ongoing or current special offers.

The menu at Crazy Pepper appears to be quite extensive, as indicated by the long-time customer who mentioned trying "so much on the menu." Beyond the highly recommended Korean wings, Mongolian beef, General Tso chicken, and walnut prawns, the restaurant likely offers a variety of other Chinese-American dishes to cater to different tastes. The fact that a returning customer has multiple favorites suggests a consistent quality across several of their offerings.

One area for potential improvement, based on a first-time customer's experience, seems to be the customer service at the counter. The reviewer described the person taking their order as "not welcoming" and giving off a "bad vibe." This negative initial interaction highlights the importance of friendly and respectful service, especially for new customers. While this was an isolated comment, it is something for potential diners to be aware of.

In summary, Crazy Pepper on San Jose Avenue in San Francisco is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered a strong reputation for its flavorful food, particularly the Spicy Korean wings. The restaurant offers delivery, which is noted for its speed, and also provides dine-in and takeout options. While a long-time customer praises several dishes, including the Mongolian beef, General Tso chicken, and walnut prawns, a first-time visitor reported a negative experience with the counter service. Despite this, the consistently positive feedback on the quality of the food suggests that Crazy Pepper remains a popular choice for those seeking tasty Chinese-American cuisine with standout items like the Korean wings.

For local users in San Francisco, Crazy Pepper presents a compelling option, especially if you are a fan of flavorful and well-prepared dishes like their renowned Korean wings. The convenience of quick delivery, as highlighted by a regular customer, adds to its appeal. While the dine-in experience might have some inconsistencies in terms of customer service, the positive reviews regarding the food quality suggest that it is worth trying, whether for delivery or takeout. If you are looking for a Chinese restaurant with some unique and highly praised items, Crazy Pepper could be a great choice. To get the best prices and potentially faster service, ordering directly from the restaurant is recommended.

As no current promotional information was available in the provided reviews, local users interested in Crazy Pepper are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly at (415) 337-1888 or +1 415-337-1888 to inquire about any ongoing specials or discounts. Given that a past promotion was mentioned, it is possible that Crazy Pepper may offer deals from time to time to attract and reward their customer base. Checking their website or asking when placing an order could provide valuable information on current promotions.

In conclusion, Crazy Pepper is a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco that stands out for its delicious and highly recommended Spicy Korean wings, along with other popular dishes like Mongolian beef, General Tso chicken, and walnut prawns. The efficient delivery service is a significant advantage for many customers. While there might be occasional inconsistencies in the dine-in customer service, the overall positive feedback on the food quality makes Crazy Pepper a noteworthy option for local residents seeking flavorful Chinese-American cuisine with some unique and standout offerings.

I love Crazy Pepper! I have been coming here for years, do yourself a favor and order straight from the restaurant the prices are better and they deliver so quickly. I will say I miss the buy one get one rice or chow mien, when they first opened, but that was just an added bonus! I have tried so much on the menu, but my favorites are the Korean wings OBVIOUSLY, Mongolian beef, general so chicken, and walnut prawns. Attached is my most recent order, came piping hot with favors to die for.

First time here, The guy at the counter wasn’t welcoming whatsoever, I felt a bad vibe off of him, like he was sketched out taking my order. They definitely need to work on that. tried the Spicy Korean wings were hands down the best I’ve had after San tungs wings, very flavorful, crispy chicken and zesty sauce that you really can’t get enough of. 10 wings for $19, that’s typical SF prices, not surprised. I walked in at 1:58 and wanted to dine in, he said “we close in 15 minutes you can’t eat here…” okay.. I had to eat in my car which I don’t mind but common some customer service and respect goes along way AND if you’re going to reopen in 2 hours, an extra 10 minutes to eat won’t hurt, especially if you’re the owner or a close relative working. That being said the wings were on point and delicious and highly recommended.

The food is amazing. Favorites include the tofu string bean w/ garlic and the Korean chicken wings. The wings especially are a favorite. Glad I live nearby. This is the #1 restaurant I go to for take out. Only downside is that the online ordering time estimates can be off during dinner service or other busy times. Estimate usually says 25-35 minutes but more realistically 45 min. But plan ahead and you’re good!

I've come to Crazy Pepper a handful of times and it's always consistently good. The standout has to be their Korean chicken wings. They absolutely compete with San Tung's without the wait🤣 We also get a typically couple of rice plates and a noodle dish as well. All are well-portioned and delicious.

Like the food as compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. If you like spicy food, ask them to make it SPICY and you will not regret. Price to portion ratio is quite good. Not like other places where you pay a lot for small portions. Overall, nice place to have a good Chinese food.
