About Cottage 2

Cottage 2 is a Chinese restaurant situated at 1610 Ashley Rd #5 in Charlotte, North Carolina, catering to the local community with a variety of Chinese dishes. This introduction aims to provide potential local users with an objective assessment of the restaurant based on recent customer reviews available online. It is crucial to consider all aspects of the feedback to form a comprehensive understanding of the potential dining experience at Cottage 2.

Information regarding the environment of Cottage 2 is not extensively covered in the provided reviews. While one customer mentioned the service being "relatively fast," there are no comments describing the restaurant's ambiance, decor, or overall cleanliness. Therefore, based solely on the available information, it is not possible to provide a detailed description of the dining environment. Potential customers seeking information about the restaurant's atmosphere may need to consult additional online resources or visit the location themselves.

The service at Cottage 2 has received mixed feedback, with one reviewer noting that it was "relatively fast and great." This suggests that some customers have experienced efficient and satisfactory service. However, this is the only direct comment on service in the provided reviews. Other reviews primarily focus on the quality of the food, which appears to be the main point of concern for recent customers. Therefore, while there is an indication of potentially fast service, the overall consistency and quality of service cannot be definitively determined based on the limited positive feedback.

The primary focus of the recent customer reviews for Cottage 2 is the quality of the food, and the feedback is overwhelmingly negative. Multiple reviewers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the dishes they ordered. One customer who ordered dinner combos with egg rolls and dumplings, along with their boyfriend, reported that the food was "just overall not good to the point it made our stomach hurt." This severe reaction raises concerns about the ingredients and preparation methods used at Cottage 2. The reviewer was unable to finish their meal and opted to eat elsewhere, indicating a very poor dining experience.

A recurring issue highlighted in the reviews is the poor quality of the dumplings and egg rolls. One customer who included pictures in their review described these items as "improperly made to the max." The egg roll was reported to have "barely any filling," with "90% of it was dough." Similarly, the dumplings were described as "so doughy," with a "very thick" dough and "so little" filling. This indicates a significant imbalance in the composition of these popular appetizers, leading to a disappointing culinary experience.

Another reviewer who stated that they "usually love Cottage 2" and always order the house mei fun reported a significant decline in quality. They found the mei fun to be "different and was not good," with "less noodles and hardly any meat" on their plate. Additionally, they mentioned that the "chicken wings was also burnt," indicating issues with cooking and potentially ingredient quality. This long-time customer was so dissatisfied that their husband wanted to return the entire order, and the reviewer expressed disappointment and the need to find a new restaurant for their preferred dish.

Despite the overwhelmingly negative feedback on food quality, one reviewer did mention that "the pricing is pretty good though." However, they also noted that they have been to other cheap Chinese restaurants where the "quality of food was way better than this restaurant." This suggests that while Cottage 2 may offer lower prices, the significant compromise in food quality makes it a less appealing option compared to other similarly priced establishments.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific features or promotional offers at Cottage 2. The recent customer feedback is solely focused on the negative aspects of the food quality and, to a lesser extent, the service. The absence of any positive comments about unique features or special deals suggests that these are not prominent aspects of the restaurant's current reputation among recent customers.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Cottage 2 in Charlotte, NC, paint a concerning picture regarding the quality of their food. While the service may be relatively fast and the pricing potentially attractive, the significant issues reported with the dumplings, egg rolls, main dishes like mei fun, and even the preparation of items like chicken wings (being burnt) indicate a substantial problem with the culinary offerings. The severity of the negative feedback, including reports of stomach upset and long-time customers expressing extreme disappointment and a desire to not return, should be a significant consideration for local users. While individual experiences can vary, the consistency of the negative comments regarding food quality suggests that potential customers should approach Cottage 2 with caution and perhaps consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the area, even if it means paying slightly more for better quality.

Although the service of was relatively fast and great, the quality of the food wasn’t there at all. My boyfriend and I ordered dinner combos that came with egg rolls, along with getting dumplings. The dinner combos was just overall not good to the point it made our stomach hurt. I couldn’t even finish it and decided to get something else to eat. The main issue for me was the dumplings and the egg rolls shown in the pictures. There were improperly made to the max. The egg roll barely had any filling, 90% of it was dough. The same can be said about the dumplings. It was so doughy, the dough was very thick but the filling so little. Overall the food was below average. The pricing is pretty good though. But I’ve been to other cheap Chinese restaurants that’s quality of food was way better than this restaurant.

I usually love cottage 2 . I always order the house mei fun. It was different and was not good. I also had less noodles and hardly any meat on my plate. The chicken wings was also burnt. My husband wanted to return everything. It was not worth the drive back. Very disappointed. Now I will have find another restaurant that serves mei fun.
