About Cocina Del Sol

Cocina Del Sol, located at 10 Bridge St #2 in Frenchtown, New Jersey, offers a distinctive dining experience. Situated alongside the Delaware River and reportedly underneath an antique store, this restaurant provides a memorable setting for its patrons.

The environment of Cocina Del Sol is described as "really cool" with a unique "cave-like room" at the front. This special area features a glass window in the ceiling that looks up into the storefront above, adding to its charm and novelty. For those who prefer outdoor dining, the restaurant also offers seating outside, as enjoyed by one reviewer on a "beautiful Sunday afternoon" after a bike ride on the nearby D&R Canal Trail.

Service at Cocina Del Sol is commended as "excellent." Customers have highlighted the attentive and friendly service they received, contributing to a positive dining experience.

The food at Cocina Del Sol is a major highlight. The restaurant is particularly praised for its authentic mole sauce, which is noted as being exceptionally well-prepared. Customers also rave about the desserts. The menu includes items like soft tacos, with options such as shrimp and chicken, which come with a complementary side of beans and rice. A notable feature is the "ENORMOUS" size of their burritos, with a recommendation to plan on taking at least half of it home due to the generous portion size.

A key feature to note for potential visitors is that Cocina Del Sol is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) establishment, as mentioned by a customer who wished they could have had a beer with their meal. While no specific promotional information was available in the reviews, the combination of its unique riverside location, cool interior, excellent food, and service makes Cocina Del Sol a compelling choice for those in and around Frenchtown, NJ looking for a Mexican dining experience.

This is a really cool place. It's basically right along side the delaware river, underneath an (antique store?). The food is excellent. There is a very cool cave-like room in the front with a glass window on the ceiling showing the storefront above. Not many places get mole sauce right. This place has it pinned. Great desserts too...

Stopped in after a long bike ride on the nearby D&R Canal Trail. We sat outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Service was excellent, and the food was wonderful. We both ordered soft tacos, shrimp for my wife, and I had the chicken. 3 tacos each. Entrées included a small side of beans and rice, just enough to complement the tacos. All were delicious. Two things to keep in mind for your visit; 1. It's BYOB (I really wanted a beer), and 2. The Burritos are ENORMOUS!!! (Plan on taking at least half of it home as the couple seated next to us did).

We stumbled on this place after our bike ride and we were very glad that we did. The food was great. Excellent service and atmosphere. One of our dinners came with what I think was the house salad that was excellent. We could not figure out the dressing but it was wow.

So I love this little town and have friends through a number of times and and finally had the opportunity to stop in. This is such a cozy restaurant with great ambience. I was surprised how slow it was on a Friday night. The food and service were excellent. I would stop and eat here again if the opportunity presented itself.
