Heard so much about Coaxum's, and I decided to give them a try. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed!! I went for an early dinner so they were not busy. I was greeted warmly upon entering and immediately seated. Our server was training and she did a fantastic job! Drinks, salad, and entrees were delivered in a timely manner. And the food was simply delicious. I had the salmon in the bourbon sauce. It was tender and flaky. The collard greens and Mac n cheese were good, too. But that sweet potato souffle is a must-have!! The shrimp and grits were perfectly seasoned and had sausage in it, as well as the shrimp. I will definitely be back to try the steak!!

Had the salmon with bourbon sauce, cooked to my liking and taste. The server and service was great. I did however try the chicken/gumbo soup. It was too salty for my taste. No problem having it removed from my bill. Loved the atmosphere and music. First time visit and I will return again as well as recommend this restaurant.

I finally made it in, after passing by for years. My boo & I was hungry & stopped in for a Southern meal. I stayed in Charleston, James Island for 8 yrs & am very familiar w/the Coaxums name & Low country vibes. Food was spectacular 10/10 hefty servings & definitely worth the price. Our server was kind & attentive. Food was hot fresh & again delicious. I will definitely be returning to catch the live band, plenty of free parking. Spacious inside. Glad to have a southern delight on the East side of ATL! 🫶🏿😋

I want to note that while it was cold outside, it was an incredible hot box inside. The restaurant was not full, majority of the patrons receded in the middle in the booths and one booth might have been taken by the bar. After being seated we waited maybe 10 minutes and a drink order was taken. We ordered A lemon drop and a Long Island iced tea. The presentation of The lemon drop was very pretty, however, the Long Island was heavy with alcohol and limited with any other ingredient. My spouse was a bit turned off by the way the server handled the glass around the mouth as opposed to closer to the bottom. The server may have been working alone simply because we did not see her other than to take our order and bring our entrées. The selection of food is what it is, and the meals themselves were prepared with care and the ingredients seem to be prepared fresh rather than microwaved. My spouse didn't like the fact that there wasn't any bread or some preliminary snack, but I believe that's due encourage the customer to purchase a appetizer. We ordered the salmon patties ( not the real name) and they were small but seasoned well. Every step through the restaurant was sticky only because we could hear it under our feet and we could hear it under the other patrons footsteps. I would like to come when there is live music or entertainment because I've yet to catch the restaurant when there has been entertainment and I would like to see what the acoustics are like given the height of the ceiling in size of the seating area.

Great food and service. Gotta try the sweet potato cornbread. Excellent! Also they have a live band during the weekend. When I was there they were jamming. We will definitely be back!
