About CJ's Soul Food

CJ's Soul Food, located at 1262 E Powell Rd, Westerville, OH 43082, USA, specializes in Southern comfort food. You can contact them at (614) 396-8047 or +1 614-396-8047 for orders and inquiries.

Customer reviews indicate that the food is generally tasty, with the beef tips being a standout dish, praised for its generous meat portions. However, some customers have found other dishes to be a little salty. The electronic ordering system limits modifications, which may be a drawback for those with specific dietary needs.

The atmosphere is described as good, but there have been reports of cleanliness issues, such as the absence of soap in the ladies' bathroom. Hand sanitizer is available outside the bathroom.

During restaurant week, customers had the opportunity to try a three-course meal. The soul roll and crawfish etouffee were described as just okay, and unlikely to be reordered. The peach cobbler, however, was highly praised and considered the standout dish of the meal. Customers have expressed interest in returning to try other menu items, such as fish, chicken, and dirty rice.

In summary, CJ's Soul Food offers tasty Southern comfort food, with some dishes being particularly well-received. However, there are some inconsistencies in salt levels and cleanliness, and the electronic ordering system limits customization.

Food was really tasty especially the beef tips that had lots of meat on it. Overall the other food was a little salty. The way they take orders doesnt allow for hardly any modifications because it is electronic instead of written. Atmosphere was good except there was no soap in the ladies bathroom. They did have hand sanitizer outside the bathroom.

Partook in restaurant week 3 course meal to try more items and save a few bucks. The soul roll and crawfish etouffee were just okay but doubt I’d ever order those again. The peach cobbler was the standout of this meal. Would like to return to try some fish, chicken and dirty rice someday.

I can only tell you about my experience I went on Sunday 02/16/25 it was my first time every going to cjs and I was ordering for me and a friend and spent 138$ cj's wasn't busy at all I placed a order and waited at the bar it took around 30 to 35 minutes but when I got the food home I tried the blackened chicken Alfredo and the chicken/Alfredo was dry and needed flavor and the ribs I ordered a half a slab were burnt and I couldn't even eat them the soul rolls were ok the best thing I had was a piece of Orange roughy and my friends order was the same dry and flavorless Iam so disappointed and upset that we spent all that money and the food wasn't up to par I tried to support b.o. b. But this just wasn't it I don't know if it was just this day that I went everybody says how good this place is I just don't see it a refund would have been better then 20% I was offered I don't think I will be back

Smoked leg quarters were great. Seasoning was ample. The dirty rice was salty. Somebody got happy with the seasoning. But it was good. The Mac & Cheese was fine. Very flavorable!! The service was great. Wait time was nothing.

I recently dined at this restaurant with high hopes for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and conducive to a good dining experience. However, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress seemed disorganized from the start, forgetting her order-taking instrument, which led me to offer her a pen and paper instead. After a rocky start, the service did improve slightly, but it never reached the standard I would expect, certainly not warranting an 18% gratuity. The level of service provided may have been worth a modest tip of $5 to $10, but certainly not the $23 she ended up receiving. As for the food, while there were some highlights like the chicken wings, which were the best part of the meal, the overall quality was lacking. Paying $26 for 9 wings felt exorbitant and did not align with the value received. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate the food a 5. Taking everything into consideration, including the mediocre service, overpriced menu items, and average food quality, I have to say that the overall experience was disappointing. It's not worth the drive from Hilliard to this location for me, and I would hesitate to recommend it to others based on my experience.
