City Works (Mellody Farm - Vernon Hills)

Stopping in for lunch. First the amount of beer handles they had was amazing paired up with the different sizes, this is a beer tasting oasis. I love the selection. So if I was coming in for an "afterwork" this would be the place. I had the fish tacos and they were OK. A little too much breading for my taste so it was hard to taste the fish. Loved the beer pretzels and the smash burger taco was tasty. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. Jazzed up bar food flair in a spacious place. Parking is hard in this area but that's not the place's fault, but just give yourself more time.

Came here for dinner with my friend. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Maria, our server was amazing. Attentive and had great suggestions for drinks and appetizers. The food was delicious. I had the blackened salmon salad. Will definitely come again.

07/09/2024: First time dining here. Sat outside. Took three tries to get a decent table on the patio. The first was broke and wobbly, and the second one had a broken umbrella. I highly recommend the Nashville nachos. Best nachos I've had in a long time. My son stated that the bacon burger was great. I had the Scorpion burger with bacon. I felt the spicy jam was on the sweet side. My wife had the house salad with vinegarette dressing. She was disappointed that the salad lacked the romaine and iceberg lettuce, olives, and avocado that was mentioned on the menu. It was short on cucumbers and radishes as well. Overall, the food was pretty good. I recommend that management purchase some cushions for the patio benches. They are not very comfortable after sitting for a few minutes. We'll be coming back to try other items on the menu. Angelica B provided great customer service. Thank you, Angelica! Much appreciated.

Sheryl was attentive and efficient as she waited on us. She’s a wonderful asset to your establishment. Salmon, chicken rings tacos and chocolate cookie dessert were all excellent!

I love City Works brunch menu. Flavorful dishes and mimosa flights. The menu is pretty unique compared to nearby brunch places. Great service. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. It’s definitely on the pricey side… you are going to spend at least 20 bucks more here compared to other breakfast places in the area. Great outdoor patio. Recommend the ball and biscuit, popcorn chicken (pictured and not a lot of breading), the sausage biscuit (pictured) and their hash brown casserole.
