About City Chopsticks
City Chopsticks is listed as a Chinese Restaurant located at 883 Bush St in San Francisco, CA 94108. While it operates under the category of providing Chinese cuisine to the local community, it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of significant negative feedback that has been publicly shared regarding this establishment.
One particularly alarming review details extremely serious allegations concerning the restaurant's hygiene and food storage practices. The reviewer explicitly advises others not to eat at City Chopsticks and claims, with "100% sure" conviction, that San Francisco city health inspectors are unaware of a "rodent infested basement dry storage area" accessible from the rear of the building. This review further describes large bags of rice and panco breadcrumbs allegedly sitting on a "filthy floor" with "visible rodent droppings and chew holes." The reviewer even states that "the door handle into the room is crusty" and urges readers to zoom in on a provided picture to see what they claim are mouse droppings on top of rice bags. These are severe accusations that raise significant health and safety concerns for anyone considering dining at this establishment.
Adding to these grave health allegations, another customer review raises serious concerns about the restaurant's billing practices. This reviewer issues a "scammer alert" and advises customers to "be aware your bill." They recount an experience where, upon checkout, they were only given a total amount. When they found that the total did not match the prices listed on the menu, the reviewer claims that the owner would "make up various names to charge you prices outside the menu." This paints a picture of potentially dishonest billing practices, where customers might be charged more than expected without clear justification or itemization. The reviewer does concede that the "food tastes is OK," but strongly cautions customers to scrutinize their bill due to the alleged discrepancies.
Based solely on the publicly available reviews, there is no positive feedback regarding the environment or ambiance of City Chopsticks. The focus of the reviews is entirely on the negative aspects related to potential health hazards and questionable billing. Therefore, it is impossible to provide an objective description of the restaurant's atmosphere or decor based on the information provided.
Similarly, there is no mention of specific services offered by City Chopsticks beyond the basic provision of food. Details regarding table service, takeout options, delivery services, or any other amenities are absent from the provided reviews. The only service-related information is the negative account of potentially misleading billing practices.
In terms of features, the reviews do not highlight any positive or unique aspects of City Chopsticks. Instead, they focus on the alleged rodent infestation in the storage area and the concerning billing practices. These cannot be considered positive features and instead serve as significant red flags for potential customers.
Finally, there is no information whatsoever regarding any promotional offers, discounts, or special deals that City Chopsticks might be running. The reviews are solely focused on the negative experiences related to health and billing.
Given the serious nature of the allegations presented in the customer reviews – specifically the claims of a rodent-infested food storage area and dishonest billing practices – potential customers are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution when considering dining at City Chopsticks. These are significant issues that could impact the health, safety, and financial well-being of patrons. It would be prudent to seek alternative dining options with more positive and trustworthy reviews.
It is important to note that these are allegations made by individual reviewers and have not been independently verified. However, the severity and specificity of these claims warrant serious consideration. Potential customers may want to consult additional sources of information, such as recent health inspection reports from the San Francisco Department of Public Health, if available, before making a decision about dining at City Chopsticks.
In conclusion, based on the provided reviews, City Chopsticks at 883 Bush St in San Francisco is an establishment with significant negative feedback concerning potential health hazards related to rodent infestation in food storage areas and alleged dishonest billing practices. There is no positive information available regarding the environment, services, features, or promotional offers. Local users are strongly advised to be aware of these serious allegations before considering patronizing this Chinese Restaurant.

“”Scammer alert!Be aware your BILL”” First of all, the food tastes is OK. But please be aware your bill. This restaurant owner, dishonest. When you check out, he will only give you a total. When you find that the price does not match the price on the menu, he will make up various names to charge you prices outside the menu.
Szechuan beef was GREAT but the scallion pancake literally was laughable portions for the price. It felt like i was being pranked, main course was worth it tho!
Avg portion size for entree Rice side is small Wonton soup didn’t seem fresh Overall, medium meal. Sweet and sour pork was very good.
Great Chinese food and even some DimSum, too! The price was reasonable for SF. It's worth going here. We took our granddaughter and her two young children. All of us enjoyed the food. Check it for yourselves!
