Customer reviews can often provide valuable insights into the dining experience at any restaurant. In the case of Chung Ching Restaurant, feedback appears to be somewhat varied, highlighting different aspects of the food and service. One recent review details a customer's specific search for a dish similar to "crispy beef" and their experience ordering the "Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds" as a potential equivalent. This customer, visiting for lunch on a Saturday, noted that they were the only patron present initially. Their experience with the Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds was disappointing, as they found it lacking in spice, flavor, and crispiness, ultimately concluding it was not similar to the dish they were seeking. They did, however, commend the friendly service they received, despite the food not meeting their expectations. This review also mentioned the Hot and Sour Soup, which was described as lacking flavor and needing seasoning.

In contrast, another customer shared a long-standing positive experience with Chung Ching Restaurant, stating they have been coming for years and consider it the "best Chinese, and REAL Chinese food." This reviewer specifically praised the wonton soup and emphasized that everything else on the menu is truly handmade with great recipes, suggesting a commitment to quality and authenticity in their food preparation. They enthusiastically recommended the restaurant, implying a high level of satisfaction with their consistent experiences. The mention of "pics" showcasing a generous lunch portion further suggests a positive value perception.

These contrasting reviews highlight the subjective nature of taste and dining experiences. While one customer's search for a specific dish alternative fell short, another praises the authenticity and handmade quality of the food, particularly the wonton soup. This suggests that Chung Ching Restaurant may specialize in certain dishes that resonate strongly with some customers, while others might have different expectations or preferences.

On a search for the best crispy beef or equivalent in Cincinnati and friend referred me here and said the equivalent dish would be Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds. I was in the area and stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. They were just setting up the tables and I was the only person there. I asked if the Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds were similar to crispy beef explaining the dish, and got a confused look. Not a good sign... I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup and the Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds. Soup came out fairly quickly. It lacked flavor and screamed for some form of seasoning. The Sautéed Hot Beef Shreds arrived next. First bite and new this was not a similar dish. Not much spice or flavor and definitely not crisp. I am glad I stopped in to try to support a local business and appreciate the friendly service, but my search continues.

Came in here on a whim and I'm so glad I did. Food was fantastic and cheap. The wonton soup was especially delicious! And the lady running the place was super nice. I'll be back!

Food was very mildly flavoured — the most boring Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. BUT everything seemed fresh. The egg roll was decent (mostly veggie). Price was fine, service was slow (new years eve), missing one dish I’d ordered, and the restaurant was pretty run down.

Amazing food at fair prices. Wide variety of options... I recommend the green beans. Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. The owner is a pleasure and made us feel so welcome! Can't wait to make this our go-to spot!
