About Chuck's Steak House

Chuck's Steak House, located at 20 Segar St, Danbury, CT 06810, is a restaurant and bar providing a dining experience centered around steak and seafood. While not a Chinese Restaurant, it offers a classic American dining experience that may appeal to a wide range of local users.

Since its change in ownership, the menu has seen some alterations, with some previous favorites like sliders and truffle fries no longer available. However, customers consistently praise the quality of the drinks and the remaining food options. The salad bar remains a standout feature, described as "amazing" with a great selection and fresh bread.

The atmosphere is described as cozy and inviting, and the service is generally rated as great. The staff is noted for being friendly and attentive, contributing to a pleasant dining experience.

While some customers find certain menu items, like the surf and turf, to be a bit pricey for the portion size, the flavors are generally appreciated. The quality of the seafood and steak is a focal point, although some have found the beef tips to be tough.

Overall, Chuck's Steak House offers a nice dining experience with a focus on classic American cuisine, a well-regarded salad bar, and a comfortable atmosphere. For reservations or inquiries, you can contact them at (203) 792-5555 or +1 203-792-5555.

Although the menu options have slimmed down significantly since the new ownership (still miss the sliders and truffle fries), the drinks and food that we ordered were very delicious. The salad bar is still as amazing as it was previously, and the staff were very friendly. Overall going to Chucks was a nice experience, and we will most likely return in the near future.

First time visit since it changed hands. Great service, cozy atmosphere. Salad bar very good, great selections, clean had fresh bread. The meal was good. A bit pricey for what I ordered, had surf and turf witch consisted of 1 large scallop, 1 large shrimp and beef tips which were a bit tough. I rarely order beef for that exact reason. The flavors were good.

This place re-opened about a month ago and it was my first time back. New ownership by experienced staff, but some of the glitches haven't been worked out yet. Most of my issue was with the food. Wait staff was bustling but the owner and manager were too. The atmosphere was not relaxed. Most guests were adults who seemed to know the owner and enjoy the visit. Now, on to our specifics...I have a fish allergy. Our waitress Meghan made sure that was noted on the tab, but it was brought out on the same arm as a salmon dish. There was no toothpick from the chef that gave me confidence that it was cooked with that allergy in mind. The water glasses were small and contained enough ice that we would have preferred more frequent refills. The chicken tasted a bit rubbery, almost as if it was microwaved. While appearing nicely plated, two dishes seemed to have grease on them which didn't match our food and detracted from presentation. The red sauce was watery and the chicken parm was missing the nice crisp the cheese gets from most restaurants. The French fries were the only part of 4 meals that got a response of "great" when I asked table-mates how their food was. The salad bar was yummy and all 4 of us were able to find items to fill our plates. The bread that looks like corn bread was very sweet which 2/3 at our table liked. Overall the salad bar was clean, it really depended on fellow guests. We ate at lunchtime on a Sunday in spring. The women's bathroom needed attention which I mentioned to a waitress (not ours) about 1/2 way through my meal. At the end of the meal, it had not been cleaned so I let the owner know and he was taking care of it right away. This location has several areas to the restaurant so you can feel private or open depending on your seat. I would come back if others in my group want to, but I feel they need more time to adjust to the new location.

Stopped here for a light fare & wasn’t disappointed! The bar area has a nice sitting area & a rip roaring fireplace for those chilly nights! Service was great as was the calamari, lettuce wedge with chucks of blue cheese the size of a nickel! You won’t be sorry if you stop here. Update- this review was for the OLD original Chuck’sSteakhouse: We stopped here Friday evening 9/13/24 & decided to give it a try since the new owners took over while on our way to Ridgefield, Ct. Yes there was some new paint & brightening things up in the bar area with comfy chairs but the Happy Hour menu did not compare to the OLD Chuck’s. Even the pictures advertised by the NEW Chuck’s did NOT hold a candle to what we were served this evening! Service was good, but sadly the food was mediocre at best hence the three stars.

Had a great meal, blackened salmon with a pineapple salsa, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Not only was the fish cooked perfectly, the asparagus was fantastic. The salad bar was good, everything looked/tasted fresh. Had a KGB coffee which was delicious.
