A key feature of Chu Shang Spicy is its intensely spicy cuisine. One reviewer found the food "insanely spicy" to the point of coughing but also extremely savory and flavorful, especially considering the price. It is strongly advised that customers be cautious with the spice levels, with a recommendation to order mild if they typically choose medium at other restaurants. Other recommended dishes include the Peking duck wrap and the fried fish fillet, although one reviewer noted that the fried fish tasted more like breading than fish. The availability of specialty ingredients like pig's blood, pea sprouts, and chanterelle mushrooms in the stir-fry is also a notable feature. However, it's mentioned that all ingredients are cooked together, which might result in wilted leafy greens.

Food was really good: despite how insanely spicy it was (I literally started coughing), it was extremely savory, flavorful, and good for the price. The waitress was also really nice and I had a good time here: the robot deserves some praise too lol. 9/10

Recommend: make your own bowl (soup and stir fry) Good: Peking duck wrap, fried fish fillet. Be careful the spicy is pretty spicy. If you would normally order medium at other restaurants, I would suggest getting mild here. The scallops were not worth it in the stir fry but we were impressed that some specialty ingredients like the pig's blood, pea sprouts, and chanterelle mushrooms were available. They do cook everything together so some of the leafy greens might be a bit wilted. The fried fish was nicely crispy but tasted more like breading than fish

Agh, I love this place. I came here with my friends today and walked into the wrong restaurant because I thought it was another. But it did not disappoint me. The price is surprisingly cheap, and the portions of the food surprised me so much. I wasn't expecting the little robot to come out with a bowl bigger than my head. And the food is so good too. The atmosphere is very nice and their robot waiter is super cute. I will be returning!

The fresh grapefruit drink was sooo good. The cup it came in was huge and the under $6 price felt very fair. I recommend the fried sampler we ordered. It had calamari, chicken, and beef. We also ordered a dry pot with little spice. Be warned if you’re not used to spicy food. It is very spicy. That dish was tasty and shareable.

Really good. I showed up at lunchtime on a Wednesday by myself and ordered the hot and spicy dry pot with lamb, chicken, tofu, sausages with numerous vegetables over glass noodles and recieved a 20 inch bowl with enough food to feed 4 people for only 34 dollars plus tip. I gorged myself as much as I could and took 2 packed togo containers with me. I now have fiery delicious food for the next two days. Price for value and quality this place is absolutely worth checking out, bring your friends.
