About Chowking
Welcome to Chowking, a unique establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, located at 3495 Sonoma Blvd in Vallejo, California. Chowking distinguishes itself by offering a blend of Filipino and Chinese fast food, catering to a diverse range of palates. This location in Vallejo provides both dine-in and delivery services, aiming to bring a taste of this fusion cuisine to the local community.
Information regarding the specific ambiance of the Chowking restaurant at this Vallejo location is not detailed in the provided reviews. However, as part of a fast-food chain, customers can generally expect a casual and functional environment. The focus is typically on quick service and convenience, making it suitable for individuals and families looking for a fast meal. The presence of delivery service further emphasizes accessibility and convenience for customers who prefer to enjoy their food at home.
Chowking primarily offers both dine-in and delivery services at its Vallejo location. Customers can visit the restaurant to place their orders and eat on-site, or they can utilize the delivery service for added convenience. One reviewer specifically mentioned a first-time delivery order, indicating that this is a service option available. For specific details about delivery areas and times, or for takeout inquiries, you can contact the restaurant directly at (707) 644-6700 or +1 707-644-6700. It's always advisable to confirm their current service offerings directly with the restaurant.
A notable feature of Chowking is its unique menu that combines elements of both Filipino and Chinese cuisine. While one reviewer had a very negative experience with a delivery order, citing issues with missing items (buchi, ordered sauce), incorrect items (lumpia instead of buchi), and inedible, overly dry chicken, it is crucial to consider the other perspective provided. Another reviewer focused solely on their "taho" dessert offering, describing it as a "quintessentially Filipino dessert" made with silken tofu, chewy tapioca pearls, and a rich brown sugar syrup. This reviewer praised the taho as a "uniquely delicious sweet treat from the Philippines" and a "classic," expressing gratitude for Chowking being a reliable place to find it with remarkable consistency in quality over the years. This highlights a specific and well-regarded offering that caters to those familiar with or curious about Filipino desserts.
The stark contrast between the two reviews underscores the importance of considering varied customer experiences. The negative review detailed significant issues with a specific bundle order, including missing and incorrect items, lack of ordered sauce, and severely dried-out chicken that was deemed inedible. This experience suggests potential inconsistencies in order fulfillment and food quality. On the other hand, the positive review of the taho dessert indicates a specific menu item that is consistently well-received and holds cultural significance for some customers. The reviewer's nostalgic connection to taho from their childhood in the Philippines further emphasizes the unique cultural aspect that Chowking offers.
Given the limited information about the broader menu in these reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of all the Chinese and Filipino dishes Chowking offers at this Vallejo location. However, the mention of a "Bundle 1" including chicken, buchi, rice, and drinks suggests that they offer combination meals. The incorrect inclusion of lumpia in that order indicates that lumpia is also part of their menu. To get a full understanding of their offerings, including their Chinese-inspired dishes and other Filipino specialties beyond the taho, it would be best to consult their menu directly, either online (if available) or by contacting the restaurant.
Currently, there is no specific information about ongoing promotional offers or special menu items at this Chowking location in the provided reviews. Fast-food chains often have national or regional promotions, so it might be worth checking the official Chowking website or app (if applicable to the US market) for any current deals. Additionally, you can inquire directly with the restaurant staff when placing an order or calling the provided phone numbers to see if they have any local promotions or limited-time offers.
In conclusion, Chowking at 3495 Sonoma Blvd in Vallejo presents a unique dining option by blending Filipino and Chinese fast food. While one customer reported a severely negative experience with a delivery order, citing significant issues with accuracy and food quality, another customer highly recommends their taho dessert, praising its authenticity and consistent quality. This suggests that Chowking may have specific strengths, such as their Filipino dessert offerings, but there might be inconsistencies in other areas of their menu or service. Local users interested in trying Filipino-Chinese fusion, particularly the taho, may find Chowking worth exploring, but it's advisable to be aware of the mixed reviews regarding overall order accuracy and food quality. For the most accurate information on their menu and any current promotions, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

Customer Reviews
Ordered delivery first time order. Bundle 1 supposed to have 6 pcs chicken, 6 buchi, 3 rice, 3 drinks. They sent 5 pcs chicken, zero buchi and 5 lumpia that was not ordered. No sauce (paid $0.15 for recommended sauce). Food was inedible. Chicken was deceptively crispy because it was basically dehydrated. Chicken dried out to the point it was like that movie “Survive” about the Brazilian soccer team crashes plane in the snowy Andes Mountains and they have to cannibalize their dead teammates. The chicken was as dried out as the frozen cadavers they had to scrape strips of freeze dried flesh off the bones and gnaw on little strips of dried people. That’s how dry it was. Chicken jerky. Rice was barely warm. Never again.
To start off, I'm only reviewing their taho dessert offering and nothing else. The reason is, I hardly ever eat fast food. However, this place serves taho, a quintessentially Filipino dessert, a uniquely delicious sweet treat from the Philippines made with silken tofu and chewy tapioca pearls mixed with a rich brown sugar syrup. It's a classic. I don't know too many places where it's served, but it's a standard item on the menu and I go there just for the taho. I didn't grow up in the Philippines, but in the five years of childhood living there, it's one of the few things I remember from the motherland, especially visual of the taho man balancing a bar on his shoulder with two large containers of the ingredients while barking in the streets. I suppose it isn't just the treat I remember fondly and crave, but also of a warm cultural reminiscence. And so, Chowking serves this deliciousness with remarkable consistency in quality as I've had it over the years. I'm grateful to have a go-to place for taho.
The beef wonton was disappointing just one bite, and the noodles were gone. The portion size has noticeably decreased, making it feel unsatisfying. Not only that, but the presentation wasn’t appetizing either. For the price, I expected better quality and quantity. Overall, it’s not worth it, and I likely won’t be ordering this again.
To my fellow Americans and Filipinos in San Francisco, here's Good News. If you want to relax and eat foods that satisfy your wants, visit Chowking in Vallejo. Herewith: showing to you how the fresh chicken, noodles and rice are being cooked and served. Old re-cooked chicken, cold rice and noodles. Upon bringing bringing to their attention, they are unconcerned and said that it was cooked.
