About Chopstix Express
Chopstix Express, located at 1037 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501, USA, is a Chinese restaurant serving the local Grand Junction community. You can contact them at (970) 263-9388 or their mobile number +1 970-263-9388 for inquiries or to place an order. It's important to note that at least one recent customer review indicates that the restaurant was formerly known as Dragon Treasure.
As a Chinese restaurant in Grand Junction, Chopstix Express aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to its customers. Based on the limited recent feedback available, experiences appear to be mixed, with significant concerns raised regarding food quality and the restaurant's environment.
One particularly alarming review detailed a customer's experience of biting into batter-dipped meat and discovering half of a chicken foot or talon. This incident led the reviewer to express strong aversion to returning to the establishment, citing unacceptable food preparation standards for the United States. The reviewer contrasted this with expectations in other countries and emphasized a preference for any undesirable elements to be less obvious, such as being ground up in processed foods. The presence of a recognizable chicken foot in a dish was deemed a severe lapse in food quality control.
Another review from a former regular customer who used to frequent the restaurant weekly during college indicated a decline in quality over time. This customer noted that while they previously enjoyed the food, their recent experience was disappointing. The sesame chicken was described as soggy, and the beef and broccoli lacked flavor. However, the fried rice was a positive point, reminiscent of their past favorable experiences. This suggests potential inconsistency in the preparation of different dishes.
In addition to concerns about the food, this same reviewer described the restaurant's atmosphere as "quite dismal." The building was characterized as rundown with poor upkeep, and the interior was described as dirty and outdated. This paints a negative picture of the dining environment for those considering eating at the establishment.
On a more positive note, the reviewer who experienced the decline in food quality did commend the staff as being "fantastically nice and very friendly." This suggests that while there may be issues with the food and the physical premises, the customer service aspect might be a relative strength of Chopstix Express.
The fact that the restaurant was known as Dragon Treasure previously could indicate a change in ownership, management, or even culinary staff, which might explain the perceived shift in food quality reported by the long-time customer. It's important for potential customers to be aware of this name change when looking at older reviews or information online.
Given the significant negative feedback regarding food safety and quality (the chicken foot incident) and the unappealing environment, local users might want to exercise caution or seek more recent and positive reviews before deciding to dine at or order from Chopstix Express. The contrast between the positive comments about the staff and the negative remarks about the food and atmosphere highlights the complexity of the customer experience.
As a Chinese restaurant, Chopstix Express likely offers a menu featuring standard Chinese-American fare, such as various stir-fried dishes, rice and noodle preparations, and popular items like sesame chicken and beef with broccoli. However, the recent reviews suggest that the execution of these dishes may not consistently meet expectations. The fried rice being a noted positive in one review indicates that some dishes might still be prepared well.

In conclusion, Chopstix Express (formerly Dragon Treasure) in Grand Junction presents a mixed picture based on recent customer feedback. While the staff is reportedly friendly, significant concerns have been raised about food quality, including a disturbing incident involving a chicken foot in a dish, as well as issues with sogginess and lack of flavor in other items. Additionally, the restaurant's environment has been described as rundown, dirty, and outdated. Potential customers should carefully consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.
As a platform providing information on local Chinese restaurants, we aim to present an objective summary of available feedback. It's called Dragon Treasure now, but lemme tell you I bit into some batter dipped meat and looked down to find half of a chicken foot/talon. Am I ever going there again? NOPE...n̈ope! NAH! NO WAY. I'd expect that - in China. You can't put blatant trash in food in the US, though! We're not down for that! We prefer it to be less obvious. You can grind that up and call it a chicken nugget all day. I've seen what chickens walk in, and you don't put that in your mouth on purpose unless you are about to die of starvation. There appeared to be nobody about to perish in this way in this restaurant at the time said crime against poultry and gustatory quality was committed.
I used to eat here once a week in college. The food was fantastic and I loved it but something changed since then. The sesame chicken was soggy, the beef and broccoli had no flavor but thankfully the fried rice is what I remember and it was delicious. The atmosphere is quite dismal. It is a very rundown building that does not have great upkeep. The inside is dirty and outdated. The people are fantastically nice and very friendly. It's too bad the quality has gone down over the years.
I used to love this place ....always have taken it to go cause of the lack of customer service and Idk if that is because of a language barrier or what but the last 2 times I've gone here the food was horrific ...... mushy, soggy, and flavorless and horrible customer service. I felt rushed when I was ordering (and there was no one else in there at that moment) 😔. Won't be back again.
DO NOT EAT HERE! It is gross and the food looks radioactive and tastes awful. It is VERY unsanitary and the server was rude. I had 3 bites and got sick! Do NOT spend your money or time here.
It was just believe the worst Chinese restaurant that I have been to in a long time. Although the chicken tasted like chicken, the sesame chicken has no sesame seeds on it. The noodles were sticky and Soggy they just didn't taste quite right. I did enjoy the pork eggrolls. But the spring egg rolls and the cheese Wontons were awful as well. Hopefully they were just having bad day!
