About Chopsticks

Chopsticks is a Chinese restaurant situated at 365 Bay Rd Suite 1 in Queensbury, New York, serving the local community and the wider Lake George region. As a Chinese restaurant, Chopsticks offers a menu of familiar American Chinese dishes, catering primarily to takeout orders, although a small dining area is available for those who prefer to eat on-site. The restaurant operates with the phone numbers (518) 792-6887 and +1 518-792-6887, providing convenient ways for customers to place orders and make inquiries.

Based on the limited customer feedback available, opinions on Chopsticks appear to be somewhat divided. One reviewer, who claims to frequent the Lake George area, considers Chopsticks to be the "best Asian restaurant in town," specifically noting that their American Chinese cuisine is superior to what they have experienced in Montreal. This positive sentiment suggests that for some, Chopsticks offers a satisfying and enjoyable take on classic American Chinese dishes.

However, another customer who ordered takeout on a Sunday night shared a less favorable experience. This reviewer, who eats Chinese food approximately four times a year and often tries the Shrimp Lo Mein, decided to visit Chopsticks based on a friend's recommendation. They noted the restaurant's somewhat inconspicuous location, possibly due to a partially illuminated business sign with burnt-out lightbulbs. Upon entering, the customer was greeted by a friendly young man with good English communication skills, which is a positive aspect of their service.

The interior of Chopsticks features a clean dining area with about six tables available for customers who wish to dine in. The reviewer mentioned observing one employee taking a break and having their dinner in the dining area, which deterred them from taking a photograph to avoid disturbing the employee. This observation suggests a casual and perhaps smaller scale operation. Notably, the restaurant appeared to be quite busy, with the phone ringing frequently and a steady stream of customers arriving to pick up their takeout orders. This indicates that Chopsticks is a popular choice for takeout within the local community.

The preparation time for the takeout order was reasonably quick, with the food being ready in approximately 15 minutes. This efficiency is a positive aspect for customers looking for a fast meal option. However, the subsequent experience with the food itself was disappointing for this particular reviewer. The Shrimp Lo Mein, a dish they order frequently, was described as unusually dark in color and featuring thick noodles. The reviewer found it to be too dry and sticky, even after adding hot mustard and soy sauce in an attempt to improve the texture and flavor. Ultimately, they only ate four bites of the dish and were left dissatisfied.

Similarly, the reviewer's friend, who ordered the Cashew Chicken combo meal, also reported being unhappy with their food and the recipe. Unfortunately, no specific details were provided regarding the issues with the Cashew Chicken. The fact that both the Shrimp Lo Mein and the Cashew Chicken, two different dishes, were met with disappointment by these customers suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality or preparation of their food on this particular occasion.

Despite their negative experience, the reviewer mentioned a possibility of giving Chopsticks another try in the future, indicating a willingness to sample other food options on the menu. This open-mindedness suggests that they recognize the possibility of other dishes being prepared differently or to a higher standard. It also implies that the positive recommendation from their friend and the efficient takeout service were not entirely overshadowed by the disappointing meal.

In terms of services, Chopsticks primarily focuses on takeout, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. The reviewer explicitly stated that the restaurant does not offer its own delivery service. However, they did note that Chopsticks partners with DoorDash, a third-party delivery service, which expands their reach and provides a convenient option for customers who prefer to have their food delivered. This partnership with DoorDash is an important service feature for local residents who may not be able to pick up their orders in person.

The information available does not provide details about the restaurant's history, the specific style of "American Chinese" cuisine they offer, or any signature dishes beyond the mentioned Shrimp Lo Mein and Cashew Chicken. Without a menu or more extensive reviews, it is challenging to fully assess the breadth and depth of their offerings. The contrasting opinions in the two reviews highlight the subjective nature of taste and the potential for variability in food quality or preparation.

Given the limited and somewhat mixed feedback, local users in Queensbury and the Lake George area might approach Chopsticks with cautious optimism. The positive review suggests that some customers find their American Chinese cuisine to be of high quality, while the negative review indicates potential issues with certain dishes on a particular night. For those considering ordering from Chopsticks, perhaps trying some of their more popular or frequently recommended items (if such information becomes available through other sources) might be a prudent approach.

As no promotional information was included in the provided data, local users would need to contact Chopsticks directly at (518) 792-6887 or +1 518-792-6887 to inquire about any current specials, discounts, or family meal deals that might be available. Checking online platforms like Yelp or Google Maps for more recent reviews and potentially a menu could also provide a more comprehensive understanding of what Chopsticks offers and the general consensus on their food and service.

In conclusion, Chopsticks in Queensbury, NY, is a Chinese restaurant primarily focused on takeout, with a small dine-in area available. While one customer considers their American Chinese cuisine to be the best in the Lake George area, another recent experience with Shrimp Lo Mein and Cashew Chicken was disappointing. The restaurant is noted for its efficient takeout service and partnership with DoorDash for delivery. Local users may want to consider the mixed feedback and potentially try a variety of dishes to form their own opinion. Contacting the restaurant directly for menu details and any promotional offers is recommended.

A friend recommended Chopsticks so we stopped by on a Sunday night for take out. I eat Chinese about 4x a year and always try the Shrimp Lo Mein dish. I’ve driven by Chopsticks several times recently but never noticed it, maybe because half of their business sign has lightbulbs out that need replacing. We went inside and were greeted by a nice young man who spoke English very well. We placed our order and took a walk outside while we waited for our food. The dining area inside was clean and had about 6 tables to eat at. I would have taken a pic of the interior but there was one employee taking a break and having his dinner. I didn’t want to disturb him. They were swamped with orders! Phone was ringing and other customers were stopping in frequently to pick up their take out orders. Our food was ready in 15 minutes. My friend took his Cashew Chicken combo meal home and told me the next day that he was not happy with the food/recipe. I took 4 bites of my Shrimp Lo Mein after I got home and I also was disappointed with my meal. I’ve never had Shrimp Lo Mein so dark in color with such thick Lo Mein noodles. It was too dry and sticky even after I added hot mustard and soy sauce to it. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our meals from Chopsticks, but we may give them another try in the future and order other food options next time. The restaurant itself doesn’t deliver but DoorDash delivers for them.

This is a picture of “crab rangoon” from Chopsticks. There is literally nothing inside! Don’t waste your money. I gave it one star because the sweet and sour chicken is ok.

Edit: Food quality seems to have declined in recent months. Previous review: I feel like Chopsticks represents the most consistently good Chinese food in the area. The food is always ready when they say it will be ready. The order is always accurate. Prices are good. The interior of the “restaurant” is pretty run down and more than a cleaning, I think the place could use a total renovation at this point, should be no problem since they are so close to Lowe’s.

I'm at work for a 16hr shift ordered from this Chinese place for the 1st time. Paid in advance over the phone and tip. I was delivered veg lo mein and crab ragoon . I ordered veg fried rice with soy sauce no broccoli. I called and was transferred to various employees to be told well I'm sorry I will talk to my staff. After further complaining I was offered 1/2 of the cost on the cost of lo mein for next order. Im at work payed good money...gave away the lo mein to co worker after smelling it they didn't want it either. Took a bite of the crab ragoon which are sweet for some reason. Needless to say learned my lesson. Will not be ordering from here again. # hungry.
