About Chopstick Express

Welcome to Chopstick Express, your local Chinese Restaurant situated at 134 E College Ave in the vibrant community of State College, Pennsylvania. As a Chinese Restaurant, Chopstick Express aims to provide a convenient option for those seeking a variety of Chinese culinary offerings. Located in a central area, it offers accessibility for both residents and visitors looking for a quick bite or a takeout meal.

One of the standout features of Chopstick Express, according to customer feedback, is the exceptional kindness of the staff, particularly the person answering the phone. This individual was noted for their willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate customer requests, even preparing dishes that were not typically listed on the menu. This level of service is a significant positive aspect of the establishment, indicating a customer-centric approach. While one reviewer felt the food was not "fantastic," the remarkable service prompted them to acknowledge the positive experience and even suggest a higher rating based solely on service.

While the service receives high praise, some aspects of the food have garnered mixed reviews. One customer specifically mentioned the rice having a "weird" quality that they found difficult to describe. This suggests that certain staple items might not meet everyone's expectations. However, the same reviewer also noted that Chopstick Express fulfilled their need for Chinese food, highlighting the restaurant's ability to satisfy a basic craving for this type of cuisine. Despite this, the reviewer indicated a preference for other Chinese restaurants they had experienced, suggesting that while Chopstick Express serves its purpose, it might not be the top choice for all palates in the area.

On a more positive note regarding the food, the Szechuan tofu was described as "surprisingly delicious" by another customer. This indicates that Chopstick Express has the capability to produce flavorful and enjoyable dishes, particularly in specific categories like Szechuan cuisine. This positive feedback on a particular dish suggests that exploring different items on the menu might lead to satisfying culinary discoveries.

Another point of feedback concerned the fried rice, which was noted as lacking flavor. The reviewer recommended asking for sauces when ordering for takeaway to enhance the taste. This is a practical tip for future customers and highlights the importance of potential condiments in elevating the overall dining experience, especially for dishes like fried rice.

Based on the available information, details about the dining environment at Chopstick Express are limited. The focus of the reviews seems to be primarily on the food quality and the service provided, rather than the ambiance or decor of the restaurant itself. This suggests that Chopstick Express might be more oriented towards takeout and quick service, although dine-in options are likely available given its categorization as a restaurant.

In summary, Chopstick Express in State College, PA, stands out for its exceptionally kind and accommodating service. The staff's willingness to fulfill off-menu requests is a notable strength. While some aspects of the food, such as the rice and fried rice, have received mixed reviews, other dishes like the Szechuan tofu have been praised for their flavor. For those looking for a Chinese restaurant in the area that prioritizes customer service and offers a range of dishes, Chopstick Express at 134 E College Ave is worth considering. If you plan to order takeout, it might be beneficial to request sauces to complement your meal. To place an order or inquire about their menu, you can contact them at (814) 237-1717 or +1 814-237-1717. While opinions on the food may vary, the commendable service is a consistent positive aspect highlighted by customers.

I just want to start out with saying that although the food was not fantastic the person answering the phone was very kind. I asked for something that was not typically on the menu and they were able to accommodate and make that for me. I really really appreciate that and I could give this a 3.75 I would. My rating is slowly based on the food although for service they deserve 5 stars. The rice was weird. Idk how to describe it. I got what I needed done for wanting Chinese food and that's what's important. I would not come back here again though only because I've had much better food. But I will say that after checking out a bunch of places in the area this is the best Chinese food place in State College

The Szechuan tofu was surprisingly delicious. The lady was very friendly too. The fried rice was not so flavorful, so be sure to ask for sauces for takeaways.

I usually refer this by “Chicken and Noodle in a big plate”. This is one of my favorite Chinese food. It seems to be hot, but it’s not. I just feel uncomfortable with their raised price, but I hope they lower it back when the pandemic is gone.

Good food quickly brought to table with attentive but not bothersome service I recommend the cucumber with minced garlic as an appetizer

This is best authentic Chinese food in town. I've been coming here since I was in college in the late 90s/early 2000s and it's still just as amazing as it always was. And the people running it are incredibly kind and generous.
