About Chop Suey Hut

Chop Suey Hut, located at 218 N Throop St in Woodstock, IL, is a Chinese restaurant that appears to be a popular spot in the area, often described as busy. While the name suggests a focus on classic American-Chinese cuisine, customer reviews provide insights into their broader menu and dining experience.

The yellow curry was described as very bland, and the beef kung pao was noted for being excessively sweet and tasting generic, with one instance of sour pieces of meat found in the dish. Despite being marked as spicy on the menu, the beef kung pao was not spicy. The wontons were reported to have a plentiful pork filling that was mostly hard fat. On a more positive note, the vegetables and chicken fried rice were mentioned as the best parts of one meal. Portions are described as huge, and the presentation of the food is considered great.

This is a busy place! Friendly service. Ordered the twin dragon, the chicken was salty and the steak was a bit hard to chew but, the white rice didnt taste like it was freshly made, but the sauce was delicious, I would probably give it one more try. All the appetizers were great. Will be back to try more dishes.

I don’t think we will be ordering from here again. We tried the take out which was just ok so we decided to try dinning in. The portions are huge and the presentation is great. The flavor however is nowhere to be found, my wife ordered a yellow curry and she described it as very bland, I ordered the beef kung pao and it was sweet as heck almost generic tasting, worst of all there were two sour pieces of meat in my dish, it tasted like when beef goes full brown in the fridge. There was a chili next to the name on the menu to indicate it was spicy, trust me it was not. It was just meh honestly. The pork in the wontons looks plentiful but it is almost all hard fat which was not good, best part of the meal was the veggies and the chicken fried rice. The inside is cute, we just happened to walk in at the right time and got a table it was packed and reservation were needed. Waitress was very nice along with the rest of the staff. To sum it up it’s very expensive basic food, we don’t see what the hype is about.

Favorite Chinese place in town! The Crab rangoons are the best I've had yet! And the fried chicken dinner is so good. Definitely great comfort food! And can't forget they have great drinks!

I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious (a little expensive but definitely worth the price πŸ˜‹). The staff is always super friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a touch of high-end mixed in. They have a gorgeous water display that's just mesmerizing, I'm sure all the kids love to look at it. The egg rolls are the best in the state and county. They've been awarded best in the Fox Valley 6 years in a row, and honestly, it's well deserved. Please come in and have some delicious food πŸ˜‹ I promise you won't regret it. Or maybe you will idk you like that 🀷🏽 (the food pictured is the Korean spicey chicken and Orange chicken)

Rabbits love veggies, right? So it's not a stretch to think the menu at Chop Suey Hut would be just right for bunny hopping! We had a lovely meal and would highly recommend Chop Suey Hut for their food and cheerful greeting when picking up my order. It has my personal Five Carrot rating! πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•
