Chong Wah Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 7941 Page Ave, St. Louis, MO 63133, USA. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, Chong Wah Restaurant offers a variety of Chinese dishes to the surrounding community. They can be contacted at (314) 721-3739 or via mobile phone at +1 314-721-3739.
Based on the available online reviews, customer experiences at Chong Wah Restaurant appear to be largely negative. One reviewer provided specific ratings for several dishes: Crab Rangoon (4/10), Chicken Fried Rice (4/10), and gravy (0/10, described as broth-like and unappetizing). The pineapple vess, however, received a perfect score of 10/10 and was noted as consistently good. Overall, this reviewer gave the restaurant a low rating of 3/10 and stated they would not return.
Another customer strongly advised others to "save yourself the trouble," describing the food as "not good" and expressing regret over spending $70. This reviewer also commented on the apparent ethnic background of the staff, suggesting they might not be Chinese, and described the interior of the restaurant as "run down," leading to significant disappointment. The only positive aspect mentioned was the politeness of the person who took the order at the counter.
These reviews paint a concerning picture regarding the food quality and the restaurant's environment. The low ratings for multiple dishes and the strong negative sentiment expressed by both reviewers suggest potential issues with the culinary offerings. The description of the gravy as being akin to broth and the overall low scores indicate that the food may not meet the expectations of those seeking authentic or high-quality Chinese cuisine in St. Louis.
The comment about the restaurant possibly being run by individuals of a different ethnic background, while offered as an observation by one reviewer, is subjective and does not provide objective information about the food itself. However, the subsequent remark about the interior appearing "run down" does contribute to a perception of the restaurant's environment that may deter potential customers.
As a Chinese restaurant in St. Louis, Chong Wah Restaurant is part of the local dining scene. However, the provided customer feedback raises significant concerns about the quality of its offerings and the state of its premises. Potential local users should carefully consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.
Information regarding the specific services offered by Chong Wah Restaurant, such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery, is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. Typically, most Chinese restaurants offer takeout at a minimum. Given the negative comments about the food and environment, it would be prudent for interested individuals to inquire directly about their service options and perhaps seek more recent reviews before placing an order or visiting the location.
Features of Chong Wah Restaurant are difficult to ascertain based on the negative feedback. The pineapple vess, which received a high rating, could be considered a standout item. However, the generally poor reviews of other dishes do not highlight any other particularly positive features. The fact that one reviewer noted the politeness of the counter staff suggests that customer service at the point of order might be a positive aspect, although this was overshadowed by dissatisfaction with the food and environment.
No promotional information is included in the provided text. Therefore, local users would need to contact Chong Wah Restaurant directly to inquire about any current specials, discounts, or new menu items they might be offering. Given the negative reviews, it is unclear whether the restaurant is actively promoting its services or if they are addressing the issues raised by customers.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Chong Wah Restaurant at 7941 Page Ave in St. Louis, MO, are overwhelmingly negative, citing poor food quality across several dishes and a run-down interior. While one item, the pineapple vess, received positive feedback, the overall sentiment suggests a disappointing dining experience. Local users are strongly advised to consider this feedback and potentially seek alternative Chinese restaurants in the St. Louis area. If one chooses to try Chong Wah Restaurant, it would be wise to inquire about the current conditions and perhaps order cautiously based on the reported issues.

Crab Rangoon I give a 4 out of 10 The chicken fried rice, 4 out of 10 And the gravy a 0 out of 10 it looked like some type of broth didn’t even wanna taste it And the pineapple vess I give it a 10 out of 10 always hit Overall 3 Out of 10 will not be returning
Please save yourself the trouble. The food is not good. Like not at all. I spent $70 and I regret every penny. I can’t tell who is actually in the kitchen, but they should stop. This is not st louis quality chinese food. It actually looks like it is run by people of a different ethnic background, not chinese. The inside looks run down. I am so disappointed. The only positive was the guy that took my order at the counter was nice.
Food was bland. Crab ragoon was messed up and old
This is usually my go to for Chinese take out. Been coming here for years. The fried rice is pretty good. When the new owners first took over, the quality took a bit of a hit. The rice was kinda mushy. Since then they got their stuff together and the quality has improved. The real reason that keeps me coming back are the fried wontons. They're my favorite. Some places don't have wonton at all. Most of the others who do that I've tried, are not very good. Too often, what you get when you bite into one is some dried, shriveled up piece of meat. That's not the case here. They're always hot and fresh with a full, juicy center. If you like fried wonton, check this place out.
This place is TRASH! The food is trash and the service is the worse! Been eating at this place for 40yrs..I don’t know why they sold the place but the people in there now don’t know anything about FRIED RICE!!! I wish I could give them ZERO STARS! They just ruined a good thing!
