Chong Qing Special Noodles is the first Sichuan restaurant I’ve been to and I feel as if I’ve already set the bar too high for any future Sichuan restaurants because the food here was nothing short of incredible. The Chongqing Noodles were unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before — the tingling, numbing sensation the mala leaves in your mouth is near-revelatory. And while the noodles were excellent as you’d expect, the steamed soup dumplings were equally as impressive (and better than anything I’ve ever had at Din Tai Fung). No matter where you are in LA, the trip out here is worth it.
The food here is fantastic if you like spicy and numbing. The handmade Chong Qing special noodles are my favorite. The gele mountain fried chicken is one of the best I've had, the Dan Dan noodles are delicious, we've had several versions of their dumplings and love the spicy and sour ones. The staff here are very friendly.
Came here for Chinese New Year long noodle. Friendly and helpful. The noodles were delicious and so were the two cold appetizers. The soup dumplings were a little disappointing as they got stuck and lost liquids while cooking.
The green beans and kung pao chicken were the favorites. The xiao long bao dough was a little thick for our liking and didn’t hold together well so we didn’t get much of the broth sadly. Great rice noodles as well! Would come back just for the green beans, kung pao chicken, and rice noodles. Quick service and very reasonably priced for the amount we got!
My favorite dishes were the cold steamed chicken and biang biang noodles! The Chong Qing noodles were also delicious but the tomatoes from the biang biang noodles added unique sweetness that mixed well with the tongue numbing spice that is used throughout the other menu items.
