About Ching Wah

Located at 6207 Belmont Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832, USA, Ching Wah operates as a Chinese restaurant serving the local community. They can be contacted for orders or inquiries at (804) 276-3838 or their mobile number +1 804-276-3838.

Based on recent customer reviews, there appear to be significant concerns regarding the food quality at Ching Wah Restaurant. One customer expressed disappointment with their meal, specifically noting that the lo mein and General Tso's chicken tasted "odd," with an overwhelming flavor of soy sauce and seemingly little else. This individual, having never experienced Chinese food with such an "off" taste before, indicated a potential issue with the restaurant's current recipes or cooking methods. However, they also mentioned a possibility of trying the restaurant again in the future to ascertain if their negative experience was an isolated incident or indicative of a consistent problem.

In contrast to the negative feedback on the main dishes, another reviewer found the crab rangoon to be "fine." Crab rangoon is a popular appetizer in Chinese-American cuisine, consisting of cream cheese and often crab meat encased in a crispy fried wonton wrapper. The neutral feedback suggests that this particular item might be prepared to a more acceptable standard compared to other dishes on the menu.

However, a more strongly worded review described the overall experience as "HORRIBLE!" and advised others not to waste their money at Ching Wah. This customer stated that the restaurant's quality had significantly declined over the years, leading them to stop ordering from Ching Wah previously. Their decision to give the restaurant another chance, driven by convenience, resulted in a "BIG MISTAKE!" They attributed the decline in quality to potentially new cooks or changes in the kitchen staff. The specific dish ordered was shrimp and broccoli, which they found severely lacking. The portion of shrimp was described as minimal ("about 6 baby baby SHRIMPS"), and the food was reported to have "absolutely NO TASTE." The reviewer felt so strongly about the poor quality that they believed they could have prepared a better dish themselves. Ultimately, they discarded the entire meal, deeming it a complete waste of money. While they did not elaborate on the egg rolls, the overall tone of their review suggests dissatisfaction with multiple aspects of their order.

The limited information from these reviews does not provide any details about the environment or ambiance of Ching Wah Restaurant. There are no descriptions of the interior decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere for dine-in customers. All the feedback pertains to the quality of the food, presumably ordered for takeout, as there is no mention of dining at the location itself. Therefore, it is impossible to objectively assess the restaurant's environment based on the available customer comments.

Regarding services, the reviews primarily focus on the quality of the food provided for takeout. The feedback suggests inconsistency in the preparation of different dishes, with some items like the crab rangoon being acceptable, while others, such as the lo mein, General Tso's chicken, and shrimp and broccoli, receiving negative remarks. The severely negative review also implies potential issues with portion sizes (very few shrimp) and the overall taste and quality of ingredients. There is no mention of the efficiency of the ordering process, the friendliness of the staff, or the speed of service.

In terms of features, the only discernible feature based on the reviews is the type of cuisine offered, which is Chinese-American. However, the quality of this cuisine appears to be inconsistent and, in some cases, significantly below expectation. The negative feedback regarding the taste of common dishes like lo mein and General Tso's chicken, as well as the tasteless and sparse shrimp and broccoli, does not highlight any positive features that would attract customers. The one positive note is the "fine" crab rangoon, but this single acceptable item is overshadowed by the more critical reviews of other dishes.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any promotional offers or specials that Ching Wah might be running. The customer reviews do not mention any discounts, lunch specials, or other incentives. Given the negative feedback on the food quality, any potential promotions might not be sufficient to entice customers who are concerned about the taste and value of the meals.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Ching Wah Restaurant in Chesterfield, VA, raise significant concerns about the quality and consistency of their food. While the crab rangoon received neutral feedback, other dishes like the lo mein, General Tso's chicken, and shrimp and broccoli were described as having odd tastes, being overwhelmingly flavored with soy sauce, or lacking flavor altogether, with minimal portions of key ingredients. One customer with past experience noted a decline in quality over the years. Potential local users should be aware of these negative experiences when considering ordering from Ching Wah. Further positive reviews or a demonstrated improvement in food quality would be necessary to reassure prospective customers.

I was disappointed by the food. My lo mein and general tso chicken tasted odd. Almost like they were heavy handed with the soy sauce and nothing else. I don't think I've had Chinese food that tasted so off before. Might try again to see if it was a fluke. The crab Rangoon was fine.

HORRIBLE! Do not waste your money. This place has really gone down. I stopped ordering from Ching Wah years ago because I noticed the food wasn’t as good as it use to be. They definitely have new cooks or something! Me being lazy today did not feel like driving to Lung Wah ( on Iron Bridge) so I decided to give Ching Wah a chance BIG MISTAKE! I see why I stopped giving these people my money. I ordered a shrimp and broccoli.. they gave me about 6 baby baby SHRIMPS, the food had absolutely NO TASTE I literally could have fixed a better dish than this!!!! but once again, just me being lazy. These people no better but they don’t care because WE keep going back! Money wasted because I threw the whole tray in the TRASH.. I’m not going to mention the egg rolls !!!

DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT get any of the flavored wings. Stick to the regular. I got the spicy (not spicy at all with a dark weird sauce and barely any taste) and my husband got the honey (slimy) wings. They overwhelmed my plate with sauce. I got fries with mine and the sauce (like a weird dark generals tso sauce) made my fries extremely soggy. The texture was a little off too. Never doing that again, just gonna stick with what I know and that's being plain Jane IF I do go here again. Hands down the worst wings I have EVER had. HIGHLY disappointed. Money wasted.

I have been going here for years because I’ve always loved their food. I live 25 min away and pay a toll to get here. I was very disappointed in the food I received last night. The beef in the beef with broccoli was so chewy and now I know why. It was undercooked. Please be sure to thoroughly cook your beef and all meat and chicken!
