About Chinese Wok
Chinese Wok is a Chinese Restaurant located at 3312 FM 528 Rd, Friendswood, TX 77546, USA. While it has been at this location for a significant amount of time, recent customer feedback raises concerns about the dining experience.
One customer expressed disappointment with their lunch, finding the "beef and broccoli" lacking in beef and the "shrimp cheese puffs" to be rubbery with a lukewarm interior. They advised others to consider alternative dining options in the area.
Another reviewer described their experience as the "WORST chinese food I've ever had." They reported issues with an order of fried biscuits not being available and a forced substitution of egg rolls. More seriously, they stated that their food was "RANCID AND SPOILED," noting an immediate "wave of off scents" upon opening the bag. This customer, claiming kitchen certification, identified signs of rot and spoilage in multiple items, including old, crunchy fried rice (with shrimp), cabbage in the egg rolls, and both the orange and sesame chicken. They suggested potential issues with the restaurant's refrigeration system and strongly advised others not to eat there, echoing similar sentiments from previous reviews.
Given these recent negative reviews highlighting significant concerns about food quality, freshness, and potential spoilage, local users should be aware of these experiences when considering Chinese Wok. No positive aspects regarding the environment, services, features, or promotional information were mentioned in these reviews.

Not good. I had high hopes when I opted to go here for lunch today since it’s been at this location for so long, but it was not. The beef and broccoli left me thinking “where’s the beef?” and the shrimp cheese puffs were the right color, but they were rubbery and the inside was lukewarm. Save your $10 and go down the street to Pho Yen where the real deliciousness is.
Legitimately the WORST chinese food I've ever had the displeasure of stumbling into. I had ordered the fried biscuits and was told they didn't have it, which is wild to me judging by the fact that the biscuits in the photos are premade. How do you not have that? I was told I couldn't refund that item, and she was going to give me three egg rolls as a replacement. I didn't want to accept but the alternative was starting my search for food over again so I just said sure. Then I received my order. MY FOOD WAS RANCID AND SPOILED I opened the bag and was immediately hit with a wave of off scents. If I wasn't certified to run a kitchen I wouldn't have been sure, but I knew the smell from cleaning kitchens I ran. It was rot and spoil. My rice was old, crunchy. As someone who makes fried rice regularly I know that the texture I received for my white rice is because it was day old rice they just reheated. LIST OF AFFECTED ITEMS: FRIED RICE(SHRIMP) EGG ROLLS(CABBAGE) ORANGE CHICKEN(POULTRY) SESAME CHICKEN(POULTRY) So I decided to put my money where my mouth is. I ate a bit of it. The chicken was dry and tasted off but was covered in sauce so it was hard to place, regardless it was disappointing at best and they need to change their oil. The eggrolls were definitely off, the cabbage inside was ruined, someone either let them sit or left them out of the freezer. And the shrimp in my fried rice was absolutely spoiled. To have this degree of spoil your refrigeration system is faulty; either on the line, or in deep storage. So many other before me have said similar things. Heed my warning. Don't eat here.
Have been a customer for over 30 years. Food is always great, no matter what. Dine in is a little dated but with its own charm. Brings back memories for me, but that's me. Generous portions, and tasty cuisine.
Fast, friendly service with a smile, the food was prepared quickly and was hot, huge portions for the price and it was delicious! The only problem I had was the weird smell coming from the bathroom areas, which were dirty during my visit. Great place overall!
What a delightful find! This unpretentious little restaurant really surprised us. First impression: Clean as a whistle, big menu, exceptional prices, friendly and helpful staff. We had s/s pork, human beef, shrimp lo mein, fried rice and eggrolls. Yum to all. Delicious traditional prep, huge portions. We took home twice what we ate. Atmosphere OK, tables and chairs, order at the counter. When you go WOK right in and tell John we sent you.
