Welcome to Chinese Inn-Nicholson, a Chinese restaurant located at 1710 Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a local Chinese restaurant, Chinese Inn-Nicholson offers a range of Chinese cuisine options, potentially catering to both dine-in and takeout customers. They can be contacted at (225) 387-9443 or their mobile number +1 225-387-9443 for orders or inquiries.
Based on the limited customer feedback available online, the overall impression of Chinese Inn-Nicholson appears to be mixed, with significant concerns raised regarding customer service and food quality. One reviewer expressed a desire to try the restaurant for a long time but ultimately rated their experience around 2.5 stars. They specifically mentioned poor customer service and food that was "just not that good." On a more positive note, this reviewer did acknowledge a "lovely atmosphere." However, they suggested improvements such as playing music, providing fresher food, ensuring faster service, and enhancing customer service.
Another customer shared a very negative experience, giving "no stars." This review included a serious and concerning past incident alleging assault by the owners during a food order many years prior, which led to police involvement. While the reviewer had initially decided to let this past incident go, they reported a subsequent negative experience with food ordered through DoorDash. According to this review, the food tasted old, with soggy Lo Mein, tough meats, and egg rolls that seemed to be fried in old grease. When the reviewer contacted the restaurant, they were told that everything is cooked to order, which the reviewer felt did not address the issues of old grease and soggy noodles. Consequently, this customer stated they would not return and does not recommend the restaurant.
The stark contrast in the limited reviews available paints a challenging picture for potential customers. While one reviewer found the atmosphere appealing, the significant issues raised about customer service and food quality, particularly the freshness and preparation methods, are serious concerns. The historical allegation of assault is also deeply troubling and may deter potential patrons.
Given the limited information, it is difficult to ascertain specific details about the environment beyond the mention of a "lovely atmosphere" by one reviewer. Information regarding services such as dine-in, takeout, or delivery (beyond the negative experience with DoorDash mentioned), specific features of the restaurant, or any current promotional offers is not available in the provided reviews.
For local users in Baton Rouge considering Chinese Inn-Nicholson, it is important to weigh the feedback provided. The positive comment about the atmosphere might be appealing for those looking to dine in. However, the significant negative remarks concerning customer service and food quality, including the use of old ingredients and preparation methods, should be taken into serious consideration. The past allegation of assault by the owners is also a critical factor that potential customers may find concerning.
Without further information or more recent positive reviews to provide a balanced perspective, it is challenging to recommend Chinese Inn-Nicholson based solely on the currently available feedback. Potential customers might want to exercise caution and perhaps consider other Chinese restaurants in the Baton Rouge area that have more consistently positive reviews regarding both their food and service.
To gain a more comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of Chinese Inn-Nicholson, local users might consider looking for additional reviews on other platforms or perhaps trying the restaurant themselves with the understanding of the mixed feedback. However, based on the provided information, there are notable red flags that potential customers should be aware of.
In summary, Chinese Inn-Nicholson in Baton Rouge, LA, has received limited but concerning feedback. While one reviewer noted a lovely atmosphere, significant issues have been raised regarding poor customer service and the quality of the food, including concerns about freshness and preparation. Additionally, a serious past allegation of assault by the owners exists in the reviews. Local users should carefully consider these points when deciding whether to patronize this Chinese restaurant.

Customer Reviews
Had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Would probably give 2.5 stars. Customer service was bad. Food just wasn't that good. Lovely atmosphere. Would be so much better if they played some music though, and if they had fresher food, were faster, and had good customer service.
NO STARS That bad Years ago, I was assaulted by the owners because they were rude and nasty while I was ordering food. I had to call the police. After many years I decided to let bygones go by. But when I order food through DoorDash, the food tastes OLD. The Lo Mein was soggy. The meats were tough. The egg rolls tasted like they were fried in OLD grease. . When I called, she continued to tell me that they cook everything when it’s ordered. That has nothing to do with cooking it in old grease and using soggy noodles. I will NOT ever go back. And I don’t recommend this place.
They have me questioning if I've ever had real crab wonton. Their wontons have set the bar high. Working out of town and decided to eat here for the last night I was in town. Very good food.
The food was excellent service was great last meal of the day for a large.group and they did not hesitate.to do the best for all of us, sign of a good restaurant Highly recommend this place for dinner
🚨‼️Please listen carefully‼️🚨. If you’re looking for the absolute WORST dining experience, with LOW QUALITY NASTY CHINESE FOOD this is the place for you, not joking. The service is shockingly slow, and the staff—especially the woman who appears to be the owner—is downright rude with no common courtesy to simply greet a paying customer, or take there concerns seriously about the wait time.. ugh.. Addition to that, my girlfriend and I visited this empty restaurant, yet it took nearly 20 minutes just to get a glass of water and a cup of tea. In addition to that, the atmosphere? Dull, very cold and completely uninviting, with worn-out seating and a room filled with a bunch of open brown boxes in front of the dining eating area.. As for the food? Let’s just say it wasn’t worth the wait, at all. You will be disappointed coming here. Avoid this place at all costs! 0 STAR!!
