About Chinese Imperial Inn

Chinese Imperial Inn, located at 11042 Reading Rd in Cincinnati, OH 45241, is a Chinese restaurant serving the local community with a variety of dishes. Based on recent customer feedback, the dining experience appears to offer both highlights and areas for potential improvement. This establishment is described as family-owned, with the owners being noted for their kindness and humility, suggesting a personal touch in their service.

One reviewer offered a mixed critique, starting with a significant positive: "the egg roll is best I've had in Cincinnati so far," awarding it a notable 4-star rating. However, the positive feedback seemingly ended there for this particular customer. They reported that "almost everything had a tinge of overcooked/burnt oil," which significantly detracted from their meal. Specifically, the Beef Teriyaki was criticized for being "flavorless" and not living up to its name, with the meat quality described as "cheap." The fried rice was noted to be lacking pork, a common ingredient in many variations. While the Sesame Chicken was deemed "okay" in terms of quality and taste, it also suffered from the "burnt flavor." This review was based on a takeout experience, so no comments were made regarding the restaurant's atmosphere.

In stark contrast, another reviewer expressed overwhelmingly positive sentiments, using enthusiastic emojis and stating, "🤩🤩Wonderful authentic food 🤩🤩." They further praised the owners as "very kind and humble people" and strongly recommended the restaurant as a "must try." Interestingly, they included a caveat: "🙌🙌Don’t let the building appearance turn you off ." This suggests that while the food and service (specifically from the owners) may be commendable, the exterior or interior appearance of the establishment might not be the most modern or visually appealing.

Considering these two recent reviews, the Chinese Imperial Inn appears to offer a somewhat inconsistent experience. A standout feature seems to be their egg roll, which at least one customer considered exceptional. There is also a strong indication from one reviewer that the restaurant serves "wonderful authentic food," and the kindness of the owners is a recurring positive point. However, the presence of a "burnt oil" flavor in multiple dishes and the perceived low quality of certain ingredients, like the beef in the teriyaki, are significant drawbacks reported by another customer. The lack of pork in the fried rice might also be a point of contention for some diners.

The comment about the building's appearance suggests that the focus of Chinese Imperial Inn might be more on the food and service rather than the ambiance. Local users who prioritize authentic flavors and are willing to overlook potential aesthetic shortcomings might find the restaurant appealing, especially given the positive remarks about the authenticity of the food and the owners' demeanor.

Given that one review was specifically about a takeout order, it can be inferred that Chinese Imperial Inn offers takeout service. The positive mention of "wonderful authentic food" might be a key feature for those seeking flavors beyond standard American-Chinese takeout fare. The family-owned nature of the business could also imply a more traditional approach to cooking and customer interaction.

No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. It would be advisable for local users interested in trying Chinese Imperial Inn to contact them directly at (513) 563-6888 or +1 513-563-6888 to inquire about any current specials, menu details (especially regarding the authentic dishes), and their hours of operation. Asking about the ingredients used in specific dishes, such as whether pork is typically included in their fried rice, might also be helpful based on the varied feedback.

In conclusion, Chinese Imperial Inn in Cincinnati presents a mixed profile based on recent customer reviews. While the egg roll appears to be a highlight and the availability of "wonderful authentic food" is praised, there are concerns regarding the use of possibly overcooked oil and the quality of some ingredients. The kindness of the owners is a noted positive, but the building's appearance might be a deterrent for some. Local users seeking potentially authentic Chinese flavors and are not overly concerned with the ambiance may find it worth a try, especially if they appreciate supporting a family-run business. It is recommended to call ahead for more information and to manage expectations based on the contrasting feedback received.

Only one positive note, the egg roll is best I've had in Cincinnati so far, 4 stars. It ends there. Everything else was not so great. Almost everything had a tinge of overcooked/burnt oil. Beef Teryiaki had no business with Teryiaki being in the name, flavorless. Meat was also cheap quality. Fried rice needs some pork. Sesame chicken quality was okay, taste was okay but also had burnt flavor. Take out, can't speak to atmosphere.

Solid 3 stars, the place is a bit older and not the prettiest but the hostess was fast and my lunch came out hot and within 8 minutes of me ordering. Could use a facelift inside and out, but overall a positive experience, and I would return.

Went online looking for Chinese food, nearby. So glad this restaurant popped up. We had 1 shrimp eggroll, fried wonton, hot&sour soup, 1 fried oyster, shrimp egg foo young, and sizzling wor bar. Hot tea with meal. When we walked in, I knew we were in the right place. We were the only Caucasian people there. Several families were enjoying dinner. It was some of the best food we have had for quite awhile.

I personally like the food. The only place with ginger lobster dish that I prefer. I sometimes get it as take out and heat it up by putting it in the air fryer (makes it crunchy). I also love the rock tofu. Those are the two main dishes that I come for.
