As a platform category dedicated to Chinese Restaurants, we aim to provide an objective introduction based on publicly available information. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance, comprehensive service offerings (including the lounge aspect), distinct culinary features, and current promotional activities are best confirmed directly with Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge, we can analyze the insights provided by recent customer reviews to offer a balanced perspective on what potential patrons might expect.

Based on the provided details, Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge operates as a physical location in Portland, Oregon, offering both restaurant and lounge services. This suggests that they likely provide dine-in options, the ability to place orders for takeout, and potentially a separate area or service for those looking for a lounge atmosphere, possibly including beverages. The inclusion of a mobile phone number facilitates easy contact for inquiries and order placements for residents and visitors in the SE 162nd Ave area of Portland seeking Chinese cuisine and possibly a lounge experience.

To gain a more nuanced understanding of the dining and lounge experience at Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge, it is crucial to consider the feedback shared by real customers. Online reviews often provide candid perspectives on various aspects of the establishment, including food quality, preparation accuracy, consistency, service efficiency, and overall satisfaction. Several customers have shared their experiences, offering insights into potential strengths and areas for improvement.

One customer expressed significant disappointment with their takeout order, stating, "Not what I ordered!" This reviewer, who had been craving Chinese food for months and was finally able to afford takeout, ordered the #5 combination meal consisting of an egg roll, sesame chicken, kung pao chicken, and pork fried rice. Their primary complaint focused on the "sesame chicken," which they described as resembling sweet and sour chicken, "really not what I've been craving at all." While they conceded it was "good," they emphasized it was not what they expected and would have preferred the actual dish they ordered. The reviewer also raised concerns about the authenticity of the kung pao chicken and sesame chicken if the received items were indeed the restaurant's interpretation, stating it would warrant a lower rating based on their extensive experience with Chinese cuisine across various states. Finally, they described the egg roll as "the weirdest egg roll I've ever seen," indicating a potential deviation from standard expectations.

Another customer commented on the quality of the fried rice, describing it as "decent" but "not consistent in quality!" They recounted a positive experience on their first visit, where the fried rice "tasted really good," followed by a second visit where it "just didn’t taste good at all." This highlights a potential issue with the consistency of food preparation.

This customer also shared their experience with the crab puffs, noting a discrepancy between two separate orders. The first time, the crab puffs were of "good size" but tasted "way too much like crab." The second time, they were "tiny" and tasted "more creamy," indicating significant variations in both size and filling composition.

Adding to the negative feedback, this reviewer described the service as "awful," characterized by staff "kind of slamming plates on the table and not checking up." This suggests a lack of attentiveness and potentially unprofessional behavior from the service staff.

These reviews collectively paint a picture of potential inconsistencies in food preparation, accuracy of orders, and the quality of service at Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge. The first reviewer's experience highlights a significant issue with order fulfillment and the authenticity of certain dishes compared to common expectations. The second reviewer's comments point to a lack of consistency in the quality of both the fried rice and the crab puffs, as well as a negative experience with the service.

For local users in Portland, OR, considering Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge, these customer reviews offer important insights into potential aspects of their experience. The concerns raised about receiving the wrong order, inconsistencies in food quality, and poor service are factors that potential patrons may want to consider. The mention of a "lounge" area is intriguing, but the provided reviews focus primarily on the food and service aspects of the "restaurant" side of the establishment. Information regarding the ambiance and offerings of the lounge would need to be obtained directly from Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge.

To gain more specific information about Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge's menu, including a clearer understanding of their interpretations of dishes like sesame chicken and kung pao chicken, as well as details about the lounge area, contacting the restaurant directly is advisable. They can provide clarification on their menu items, preparation methods, and the services offered in both the restaurant and lounge sections. Additionally, they can inform potential customers about their dine-in, takeout, and any potential delivery options, as well as any current promotions they may be running.

In conclusion, Chinese Garden | Restaurant & Lounge in Portland, OR, offers both restaurant and lounge services. However, based on recent customer reviews, there appear to be potential issues with order accuracy, consistency in food quality, and the level of service provided. Local users considering this establishment may want to take these factors into account and consider contacting the restaurant directly for more information about their menu, services, and the ambiance of their restaurant and lounge areas to make an informed decision.

Not what I ordered! It's been at least a year since I've had any money for takeout and I've been craving Chinese food for months. I ordered the #5 combination of egg roll, sesame chicken, kung pao chicken & pork fried rice. I can't imagine this is what they'd call sesame chicken. It's like sweet & sour chicken. Really not what I've been craving at all. It's good, but still, could have been better to have what I wanted. If this *is* their idea of king pao chicken & sesame chicken then that would be one less star from me because that's different than what it would be at every other Chinese place in the country that I've been to. And I've lived in a lot of states. That's also the weirdest egg roll I've ever seen.

The Fried rice was decent, not consistent in quality! The first time I went there it tasted really good second time just didn’t taste good at all. The crab puffs first time around were good size and unfortunately tasted way too much like crab, second time around they were tiny and tasted more creamy. The service was awful, kind of slamming plates on the table and not checking up.

You think they would step up their food a bit I'm shocked at how disgusting it was. How did to go order the fried shrimp was full of batter that wasn't even cooked, the sweet and sour chicken had giant hunks of chicken battered with little sweet and sour sauce that coagulated to the sides, the rice was mediocre it tasted more watery than soy sauce and the lo mein had every kind of meat in it that were giant hunks and they were hard. What happened to this place used to be tasty I would save your money and try to find somewhere else but there's not much around here at Southeast

My family loves this place! I can't figure out why, unless it's some celebration of mediocrity. They did all vote for Trump... so maybe. The food is mostly edible, but actually really good if you're hungry. A lot of items a restaurant would normally store in back are strewn about on seats, tables, in corners. The service was super friendly.

This place is s must visit. I always sit in the bar area to eat. There is plenty of food on your plate for the price. I order the 5 piece combo every time. I always have left overs for a full second meal. Love this place ❤️
