About Chinese Express
Welcome to Chinese Express, your go-to destination for exceptional takeout Chinese food in New Bern, North Carolina. Located at 3105 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560, USA, Chinese Express has garnered praise from local customers who have discovered its fantastic offerings. If you are a resident of New Bern with a penchant for Asian cuisine and have been on the lookout for a reliable and delicious Chinese restaurant, Chinese Express comes highly recommended based on initial customer feedback.
One enthusiastic reviewer boldly proclaims Chinese Express as "the best take out Chinese food in New Bern, NC." This strong endorsement suggests that this establishment has made a significant positive impression on at least one local diner, positioning it as a top contender for those seeking Chinese takeout in the area. The reviewer even addresses potential passersby who might be wondering about the restaurant's quality, assuring them that it is indeed "fantastic!!!" This passionate recommendation serves as a compelling reason for local users to consider Chinese Express when their cravings for Asian food strike.
Another customer provided a more detailed breakdown of their experience, offering a nuanced perspective on the various dishes they tried. A standout item for this reviewer was the crab rangoon, which they described as "the best I've had in a while." This positive highlight suggests that Chinese Express excels in preparing this popular appetizer, making it a must-try for those who enjoy crispy wontons filled with a creamy crab mixture.
The egg drop soup also received positive feedback, being described as "delicious." Egg drop soup is a classic and comforting staple of Chinese cuisine, and a well-prepared version can be a significant draw for many. However, this reviewer did note that the soup contained "way too many green onions," which might be a point of consideration for those who are not particularly fond of this garnish or prefer a milder flavor profile.
The more basic elements of the meal, the white rice, were reported to be "good," indicating a satisfactory preparation of this essential accompaniment to many Chinese dishes. The fried rice, however, received a more neutral rating, being described as "ok." This suggests that while not exceptional, the fried rice is likely an acceptable option.
A point of criticism in this more detailed review was the sweet and sour chicken, which was described as "way over cooked and too crispy." This feedback indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation of certain dishes, which could affect the overall dining experience for some customers. While one dish might be a standout, others might fall short of expectations.
Based on these initial reviews, Chinese Express appears to specialize primarily in takeout service. The strong recommendation for its takeout quality suggests that this is the primary mode of service and likely where they focus their efforts. There is no mention of a dine-in environment, so local users should likely plan to order their food for pickup to enjoy at home or elsewhere.
The atmosphere or ambiance of the restaurant is not described in the provided reviews, as both focus on the food quality for takeout. Similarly, details about the service beyond the quality of the food and the speed of preparation are not mentioned. We do not know about the politeness of staff, the ease of ordering, or any other aspects of the service experience.
Features of Chinese Express seem to include a reputation for potentially being the best takeout Chinese food in New Bern, with specific highlights such as the crab rangoon and egg drop soup (with a caveat about the green onions). However, the inconsistency in the preparation of dishes like the sweet and sour chicken is a factor to consider.
There is no information provided in these brief reviews about any promotional offers, lunch specials, or signature dishes that Chinese Express might have. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly or inquire when placing an order.
In conclusion, Chinese Express at 3105 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC, appears to be a highly regarded option for takeout Chinese food in the area, with one reviewer considering it the best. Standout dishes include the crab rangoon and the egg drop soup (though the latter may contain a significant amount of green onions). However, there might be inconsistencies in the preparation of some items, as noted with the overcooked sweet and sour chicken. For local users in New Bern seeking a reliable spot for takeout Asian cuisine, Chinese Express is definitely worth considering, especially if you are a fan of crab rangoon and egg drop soup. However, it might be prudent to be aware of the potential for variability in the preparation of other dishes.

This is the best take out Chinese food in New Bern, NC. When you pass by you think, “I wonder if that’s any good?” Well I’m here to tell you, it’s fantastic!!! If you like Asian food , live in New Bern, and are searching for a good place…try Chinese Express!!!
Overall not bad. Crab Rangoon was the best I've had in a while. Egg drop soup was delicious but had way too many green onions. White rice was good. Fried rice was ok. Sweet and sour chicken was way over cooked and too crispy.
If you enjoy bland Asian food this is the place to go to this is a place I would never revisit this place, the first time I ever had Asian food that was tasteless, and you wonder how they're staying in business? So after watching customers floating in and out, I realize who's keeping these people afloat.
Overall good food, my cousin bought me some to eat and it was so good I ate a lot of the wings and noodles overall 5 star place to eat at 👍
Ok so I got chicken fried rice. Shrimp fried rice . Teriyaki chicken on a stick. Chicken wings deep fried. Chicken and dumplings deep fried. For the family. 59$. We only Eight chicken fried rice and dumplings. The rest of the food tasted like it was all deep fried together. It was awful waste of my money. Go to the Chinese restaurant by the hospital in front of the pickley wiggly they are much better.
